William H. and Martha (Wilson) Underdown
In 1860 Sevier County, Tennessee, William Underdown is 9, with Abraham (Mack) Underdown 36 and Ann 27. May is 7, Jane 6, Robert 5, Magaret 2, and a spinster Sarah Bales 13.
In 1860 Sevier County, Israel Wilson is 40, Jane 38, Martha 15, May 13, Rhody 11, John ?, Albert 7, James 5, and William 2.
In 1870 Ray County, Missouri, Israel Wilson is 50, Jane 48, John 18, Albert 16, James 13, Carson 11, and Margaret 8. With them are William Underdown 18 and Martha 24. James Wilson 62 is with them.
In 1885 Gage County, Nebraska, Will is 37, Martha 39, Mary 14, Pleasant 12,
Lizzie 11, Henry 8, William 7, Haley daughter 5, Joseph 2, and Sarah 1.
Jane Wilson 1822-1895 is buried in Carroll County, Missouri # 29504456.
1910 Eckley items "William and Joseph Underdown are hauling lumber for their new houses. "
Joseph W. Underdown claimed two quarters in 1N 46W, two miles south of Eckley,
and William M. Underdown two quarters in section 3, both in 1914.
March 30, 1916 " Martha A. Underdown died at her home two miles south of Eckley, Saturday, March 25, 1916,
being seventy-one years, 1 month and eleven days of age. Martha A. Wilson, a daughter of Israel Wilson, was born near Little Rock, Arkansas, February 14, 1845.
She was united with the Baptist church in her fifteenth year, and had remained a steadfast Christian ever afterward, patient in all her suffering,
prepared and willing to meet her God. In the year 1869 she was united in
marriage to Wm. Underdown. To this union ten children were born,
three of whom had preceded their mother to the better world.
Of the living children, six were present.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband. Wm. Underdown ; three sons, Joseph and Henry, of Eckley, Colo., and P. L. Underdown, of Burlingame, Kans., and four daughters,
Mrs. Frank Bowman, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Jeanette Ward,
of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Lizzie Snead and Mrs. M?. Hayes,
both of Bramer, Mo., and her grandson, Orville Underdown, who had
been raised from infancy by his grandmother. To the members of the bereaved
family is extended the united sympathy of their many friends.

who so willingly assisted us in tht late sickness and death of our
beloved mother, and also to those thoughtful friends who furnished

December 1936 "William Underdown, a long time resident of the Eckley community died at a hospital in Loveland Sunday."
The stone in the Eckley cemetery, # 53151371, has April 12, 1845- Nov 29, 1936."
WILLIAM and Della (Aughe) Underdown
In 1900 Douglas County, Nebraska, Jennie Aughe born Dec 1855 in Iowa, widowed. She's had four kids, all living. Della Nov 1884 Kansas is living with her. So are her parents James. L. Parks and Mollie, both 63, and brother Chas F. 20.
1900 Dodge County, Nebraska "William Underdown to Della Aughe on 31 Dec."
William Underdown 1879-1914 is buried in Ashland Nebraska # 33146646. "Son of William and Martha Adaline (Wilson) Underdown; husband of Della May Aughe. He suffered deafness and was walking through the train yard, crossing tracks. He was struck by a passing train and killed.

The coroner inquest for 1915 Saunders County says Underdown, W.C. employee of Burlington Railroad, ran over by passenger car while on track."
In 1940 Lincoln, Nebraska, Della Aulger is widowed, 55, born in Nebraska. Her mother Jennie Turpin 84 widowed, Iowa and uncle Charles S. Parks 61 are with her.
Della May (Aughe)(Underdown) Aulger 1844-1944 is buried in Ashland, Nebraska # 33146869 "Daughter of Robinson Boyd Aughe and Malinda Jennie Parks. Wife of William Underdown, with whom she had her children. Married 2) Joseph Clayton Aulger and is buried with both husbands. "
March 26, 1944 "Mrs. Della May Aulger, 50, died late Saturday at her home, 1128 J.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Jennie Turpin, Lincoln; three daughters. Mrs. Gladys Hurst and Mrs. Merle Strasheim, both of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Arlyne McCafae, Springfield, O.; a son, Edgar H. Underdown, Los Angeles; two brothers, Herman Aughe, Lincoln, and Frederick Aughe, Ashland; a sister, Mrs. Stella Gregory, Wauneta; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Tola Gregory. Norfolk. Va.. and Mrs. Eva Boden, Omaha; three stepsons, Aulton Aulger, El Cajon, Calif.: Samuel Aulger, Portland, Ore., and S 2/c Alviin Aulger, in the Pacific area. "

In 1910 Kansas City Missouri, Haley E. 28 and Frank Bowman - a driver for a transfer company - 29 have Pauline 7, Frankie G. 5, Lucile A. 3 - all three girls born in MIssouri. Pleasant Underdown - a teamster- 36 and Lucy L. 29 are living with them.
Evelyn H. Bowman 1881-1944 is buried in Portland Oregon # 65694951, with Henry F. Bowman 1880-1958.

Lizzie 1875-1930 and Willis S. Sneed 1873-1961 are buried in Caldwell County, Missouri
SARAH
Sarah Ann Hays 1887-1929 is buried in Caldwell County # 27215686. "Wife of Albert G. Hays" Albert 1876-1967 # 27215681 is also there.
JOSEPH
In 1907 Beatrice Nebraska, Joseph (May) Underdown is a candler for Beatrice Poultry, living at 912 S. 9th. Wm. (Della) Underdown is a teamster, boarding with J.W. Underdown.
In 1900 Beatrice Nebraska. Janes Howes is widowed, born Oct 1860 in Illinois, with Elmer Oct 1881 William Feb 1883, and Elmina July 1884 in Illinois, Mary L. Dec 1886 in Minnesota.
May Howes, 16, married Joseph Underdown in Beatrice on May 14, 1903.
Joseph White Underdown registered for WWII in Klamath Falls, Oregon, born May 17, 1882 in Ray County, Missouri, his reference Mabel Watson of Klamath Falls. He’s working for the state highway department.
They’re in Eckley in 1920, Joseph 36, May 32, William 14, Ronald 12, Pleys 10
Nebraska, Josephine 1 and Harry two months old both born in Colorado.
In 1930 they’re in Loveland, having added Mabel, now 8.
In 1940 Loveland, Joseph and May have only Harry R., 20.
August 22, 1957 "Mrs. Joe Underdown of Denver passed away at her home August 13 from a heart attack. Mrs. Underdown lived near Eckley many years. Glenn Pittman and Jessie Underdown went to Denver Saturday to attend the funeral.”
Joseph died June 1964.
December 1915 "Jo Underdown has been engaged to dress turkeys for
Arthur Brandon one day this week. Mr. Underdown is a professional poultry
dresser who has had years of experience at the business and the turkey raisers of this vicinity couldn't very well get along without his services."

In 1930 Larimer County, Joseph is 46, May 42, William J. 24, Ronald 22, Pleys 20, Josephine 12, Harry 10, and Mable 8.

SSDI has Joseph Underwood born May 17, 1883 dying June 1964.
July 9, 1964 "Mrs. Jessie Underwood went to Denver Wednesday evening to attend the funeral for Joe Underdown on Thursday. She returned home Friday. Mr. Underdown and his family lived in the Eckley community from 1909 to 1928."
Joseph White Underdown registered for WWII in Klamath Falls, born May 17, 1882 at Ray, Missouri.
In 1949 Klamath Falls, Oregon, Joseph W. Underdown (May E) is a millworker for KLM Co, living at 2437 Garden Avenue. So does P.H. Underdown.
Josephine May Underdown was born March 13, 1918 at Eckley to Joseph W. Underdown and May D. Howes, as Branson in 1975, and as Williams in 1978.
1986 "Al and Josephine Johnson of Denver were Wednesday guests of Mary Meade. Mrs. Johnson, formerly Josephine Underdown, visited around Eckley while here."
She's buried in Fort Logan # 36029244, with Homer G. Branson 1911-1974.
(Homer born in Missouri, was in Logan County, Colorado in 1920, with parents George W. 36 and Marian 28.)

1939 "The Warriner Motor company delivered a Ford V-8 deluxe fordor sedan to A.H. Underdown of Eckley recently."
1942 "Mrs. Jessie Underdown returned from Minneapolis where she had been visiting a brother."
