Niels C. Nielson
Niels was the son of Mads Nielsen 1847-1894 and Ane Barbara Hansen 1862-1954.
He was born at Benkelman Feb 20, 1890, and died March 18, 1975 at Dannebrog, Nebraska, marrying Opal Andrews 1901-1973.
He might be the Niels C. Nielson in 1910 Morgan County, a farm laborer for Frank L. 57 and Mary K. 61. Niels is 33, born in IOwa. Sisster Nicolina 23 was born in Nebraska, Theodore M. 21 in Colorado.
The 1920 census of Yuma County has Niels C. "Nelson" 29, born in Nebraska, farming, living alone. He's between Jerry Hawes and John Brown on the census. So that's the 2N 45W area.
Niels proved up two quarters in 12, 2N 45W in 1922.
1922 "N. C. Nielso , farmer and ranchman living north of town, brought a live golden eagle to town last Saturday and disposed of the same to Tom Graham , proprietor of the Graham barber shop . Mr . Graham will have it mounted , after which it will be on display in the barber shop . Mr . Nielson caught the eagle with a trap . One foot was injured slightly , otherwise the bird was unharmed . It measures ncary seven feet from tip of wing to tip of wing ."
August 1923 "Mr. and Mrs. E. Dwehus and two daughters from Rockville, Neb., stopped in Wray on their return trip from the mountains and Denver to visit Engward , Niels and Louis Nielsen homes 11 miles northwest of town a few days last week . Mrs . Dwehus is a cousin of tho Nielsen boys ."
In 1930 Dundy County, Niels is 40, Opal C. 29, Janice R. eight months, all born in Nebraska. Alta M. ANdews, 22 is with them -
Engward Nielsen registered for WWI in Thornton, Iowa, born Sept 20, 1892 at Dannerborg, Nebraska, with a mother dependent on him.
In 1940 Dundy COunty, Neils and Opal have Janice 10, Delber R. 5, and Olga B. 2.
In 1940 Dundy County, Nebraska, Engward Nielsen is 47, born in Nebraska, with Elaine 38 Sweden. Dorothy 19 was born in Nebraska, and Lorene 17 and Engward Jr. 10 born in Colorado.

Niels C. Nielsen, a resident of this community for twenty-nine years, expired at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha on Tuesday. He had observed his 85th birthday anniversary on February 20th.
The Nielsen family resided on a farm along Highway 61 north of Benkelman until 1950 when they moved to Missouri which became their home for 18 years. They moved to Cairo, Nebraska in 1967. Mrs. Nielsen passed away there on September 13, 1973.
Mr. Nielsen had resided with his daughter, Janice R. Nielsen, 7507 Chandler Hills Drive, Omaha 68147 for the past year and a half during which time he was experiencing ill health.
He is survived by two daughters, Janice of Omaha and Olga B. Nielsen of Lincoln, and one son, Delbert R. Nielsen of Omaha. He had a brother and a sister in Grand Island and two brothers, Engward and Louis, who reside in Oregon.
Funeral services are planned for the Cairo Methodist Church on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., C.D.T., with interment in the Oakridge Cemetery at Dannebrog, Nebraska.
