Roy J. and Avis (Rogers) Anderson
Avis Lucille Rogers was born Feb 17, 1891 at Dodgeville, Wisconson to William Henry Rogers and Lizzie Harris.
In 1900 she's with William and his he second wife in Dodgeville, and also in 1905.
Roy Anderson, born May 1883 in Pennsylvania, is an elevator operator in 1900 Chicago, with parents Wiliam 38 and Lilile 36 Anderson.
In 1900 Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Avis Rogers, born Feb 1891, is with William H. Rogers 49, just married to Mary (his wife had died in 1898). Nannie is 20, Harry A. 15.
December 2, 1910 "Roy Anderson, who operates the shooting gallery in Wray,
has branched out into the poultry business he having established quite a henery in the rear
of his place of business."
1910 Wray "The Rattler understands that Roy Anderson, who operates the shooting gallery, has purchased a tract of land near Eckley and will move on the same in the spring."
June 23, 1911 "A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson of north of Eckley, last Saturday , and as this is the first born to Mr. and Mrs. Anderson they figure they will have to put out a third more crop than formerly,
and are glad they have the little fellow to lend enthusiasm to their work."
1912 "Roy Anderson is out on his claim building a house and barn and getting things ready so as to move out there some time next week."
Roy proved up two quarters in sections 6 and 7, 2N 45W in 1916. Witnesses were Herman Schatler, James T. Graves, Edward Weeks, and Charley Yenter.
August 21, 1913 "Saturday afternoon, the office of the County Judge Jennings was the
scene of the marriage of Jacob M. Castleman and Miss Mary Elsie Holtz, the judge performing
the ceremony. Both parties are of Wray, the former having been employed in and about the town
for the past few years, the latter having been one of the employees of the Wray Hotel.
Quite a number witnessed the ceremony, among them, Mrs. Rebecca Phay, a sister of the groom,
Messrs and Mesdames Jim Graves, Ed Weeks, Roy Anderson, all of several miles northwest
and Miss Edith Gostry of Wray. We understand the couple will make their home on the farm
owned by the groom north of Robb."
August 23, 1917 "Jack Rogers Anderson, born in Wray, Colorado, June 1, 1911,
died in Chicago, August 20, 1917, of nasal diphtheria. The little boy above referred to in the brief note sent to the Rattler this week by a friend in Chicago, refers to the
little son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, who resided in Wray a few years ago.
We are sure the sympathy of friends here will go out to the bereft young parents in the loss of their baby boy."
"Since announcing in another column the death of the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, now of Chicago,
the Rattler receives word that their only daughter, Evelyn, two and one-half years old, died Tuesday of this week of nasal diphtheria.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson surely have the sympathy of Yuma county friends in their double grief."
Evelyn Jeanette Anderson was born in Chicago in 1915, and is also buried in Forest Home # 147968467.
August 30, 1917 "The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson sympathize with them in the loss of their children."

IN MEMORIUM
The following tribute to the Anderson children, who recently passed away at their home in
Chicago, was written by a friend and mailed to this office for publication :
How we think of you, dear children,
And how our hoorts are sad with pain.
Oh, this world, it would be heaven,
Your voices could we hear again.
We miss you in tho morning,
We miss you so at night,
And the days are long without you,
And nothing seems just right.
But some day when all is o'er
We all will meet to part no more.

September 1917 "Roy Anderson of Chicago, was here Monday and Tuesday visiting former friends ami closing up some business matters that had been pending since he left here five years ago."
He reports that their youngest child had fully recovered his recent illness, he being afflicted
with the same diptheria that took their two older children from them."
The Illinois index has him born June 17, 1911, to Roy Anderson of "All, Pen." and Avies Rogers of Dodgwill, Wisconsin. To be buried at Waldhern Cemetery.
He's buried in Forest Home # 147967982.
Roy James Anderson registered for WWII in Riverside, Illinois, born May 9, 1883 at Allegheny County, Pennsylvaania, working for Western Electric in Cicero, with Mrs.l Avis Anderson.
Roy died in 1960, and Avis married Joe Kempiners in June 1960.
Avis L. Kempiners died Dec 9, 1983 in Cook COunty.
Blanche Elizabeth Anderson was born Nov 14, 1912 in Yuma County, a, married Ray Krohn, and died in 1957.
