Bosler Phillips and Valeska Ann (Coolwine) Phillips
Bosler served in the 2nd Iowa, and in 1870 was in Wapello County, Iowa, married to Valeska, and they have month-old Mary.
In 1885 Oskaloosa County there's a "Rally" Phillips, 42, with Valska 32 - that matches. Ida 15, and George 12, don't. Aggie 9 matches the 1900 Marguerite. But Mary, 4 doesn't (Maybe the first Mary died...). This Mary and Laura, 3, match the 1900 kids.
In the Yuma cemetery is Ida Phillips, buried in 1890.
Bosler proved up a quarter in 14, 4N 48 W in 1891, so he probably arrived about 1884.
In 1900 Denver Bossly said he was born July 1843 in Pennsylvania, and has been married to Valeska A. for 26 years. She was born Feb 1852 in New York, had six children, three living. With them are daughters Anna L. Oct 1882 in Iowa, single. Marguerite Jan 1876 in Iowa, married 3 years to Marion O. S......, Apr 1871 in Ohio. Marguerite said she'd had one child, still living. Also with them is daughter Mary, Sep 1881 in Iowa, married one year to Benjamin Brown, Oct 1875 in Colorado.
In 1902 Denver, Bosler Phillips is a harness maker at Leonard-Scheck Saddlry Co, living at 2239 W 28th Avenue.
In 1910 Bosler and Valeska are back in Wapello County, Iowa, and granddaughter Helen Brown, 7, born in Colorado is with them. So is Myrtle Coolwine, Valeska's mother, 85, widowed.
In 1920 Valeska is living with daughter A. Laura Drath 37, and her husband Frank 37 in Fresno County. Helen Brown is also with them.
In 1930 and 1940 Valeska is living with granddaughter Helen Maneill 27 and her husband David in Santa Barbara, California.
Valeska Phillips filed for a widow's pension for Bosler, saying he was in K and C, 2nd Iowa Infantry, and she filed from both Colorado and California.
Bosler and Vakeska are buried in Reedley Cemetery, Fresno County, California
