Auguste 16.
Adolph cash-claimed 80 acres in 34, 3S 45W in 1891, another 80 in 1895,
proved up 160 acres in 26 and 27 in 1908, and cash-claimed 40 in 27 in
1914.
Louise Thielke cash-claimed 160 aces in 35 in 1894, and "Louis"
proved up 160 acres in 35 in 1898. Witnesses were Charles D. Shields,
Auguste Davisson, and William A. Davisson of Idalia, and Adolf Thielke of
Leadville.

Augusta Thielke is in Leadville in 1910, widowed, 46, a milliner,
living alone. Augusta Thielke, 1861-1913, is buried in Leadville, with a note
"Women of Woodcraft"

"Helen" Thielke, 21, married Albert Downing Dec 16, 1904 in Glenwood Springs.
1906 "Mr. and Mrs. Albert Downey, Mrs. "Thelda", of Leadville, Ned and Nes
Hall and Clyde Downey drove to Glenwood from the Nisbet rancch Strawberry Day."
May 25, 1907 "The stork left a fine ten pound boy at the home of Albert
Downey last Tuesday, May 21. Mrs. Downey and the little chap are doing
nicely and the doctor holds out every hope for Albert. This is their first
born."
She died 1907, and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Eagle County # # 40377440.
Albert F. Downey, 28 married Gertrude Young, 19, in Rifle, Colorado May 17,
1911.

Albert, born 1883 in Colorado, is in Juab County, Utah in 1920, widowed, with
Jennie B. 8, Lloyd G. 5, and Robert H. 2.
He married Essie M. Beason February 7, 1922 in Poweshiek County, Iowa.
He's in Mahaska County, Iowa in 1925, married to Effie Beason Crews, 1889,
Iowa. Her kids Clifford, Audrey, Berle, Gerald, and Lucele, his Jennie,
Lloyd and Robert.
Robert Harold Downey, age 32, born in Leadville to Albert F. Downey and
Gertrude Young, married Josephine Hood Vondasel in 1949 Lewis County Washington.
Fenton Albert Downey, born in Basalt Colorado about 1904, to Albert
Downey and "Lena Telekey", married Audrey Crews in 1928 in Iowa County, Iowa.
He died March 26, 1980 in Dane County Wisconsin. Fenton and Mabel, dying
June 1993, are buried in Roselawn, Madison, Wisconsin.
WILLIAM
William Thielke, Oct 1873 and Emil Thielke, Feb 1875, are also in Leadville
in 1900. Both are bartenders, in the Sarah Ford boarding house.
William immigrated in 1880, Emil in 1878.
W.F. Thielke has phone number 222 in Leadville in 1908, living at 210 West
3rd.
In 1910 Leadville, William is married to Martha, 29, and they have Henry 7
and newborn Dorothy.
William Frederick Thielke registered in Yavapai County, Arizona, born Oct 24,
1873, a sampling foreman for the United Verde Ext. Mining Co., nearest relative
Mrs. Martha E. Thielke, same address.
They're in Leadville in 1920, with Henry 17, Dorothy 10, Carl 8, Robert 5,
and Barry six months.
They're in Park City, Utah in 1930, William and Henry both silver miners.
Dorothy 18, Karl 17, Robert 15, and Barry 10.
In 1940 they only have Karl Edward, now 28. William is still silver
mining, and Karl is a secretary for a miners' union.
William died March 1, 1944, buried in Salt Lake City, # 172676 (Findagrave
has a birth year of 1879). FindaGrave also has Martha Evelyn (Ludwig)
Thielke, born in Colorado, buried there, 1881-1956
Barry A. Thielke, 75, died November 17, 1994 at home
following a short illness. Born in Leadville,
Colorado on June 23, 1919, the son of Martha Ludwig
and William Thielke. When he was a child, his family
relocated to Park City, Utah. He graduated from Park
City High School in 1937, and received a degree from
Westminster College, which he attended on a football
scholarship. On May 16, 1942, he married Glenna
Archer in Park City. He served in World War II for
three and a half years as a medical technician at
Lowry Field in Denver. After the war, he graduated
from the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis,
Missouri. For more than 50 years, Mr. Thielke served
the communities of Park City and Salt Lake City as a
funeral director. He started his career with his
father-in-law, George Archer, at Archer Mortuary in
Park City. They later ran Archer and Thielke in Salt
Lake City and he retired as vice president from
Eastman's Evans & Early Funeral Home in Salt Lake.
Mr. Thielke was known for his unceasing compassion
and kindness, both in business and his personal
life.He was a member of many organizations,
including Masons, Odd Fellows, Shrine, Kiwanis and
the Westminster Alumni Association. But most of all
he enjoyed people and never failed to have a smile
or joke for everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna; three
children and their families, Bryan and Linda Thielke
of Issaquah, Wash.; Bruce Thielke, Merle and Ron
Witter, all of Salt Lake City; and three
grandchildren, Kathleen Thielke, Brett Thielke and
Elizabeth Witter.
A funeral service will be held Monday, 2 p.m. at
the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100
South, where friends may visit Monday, 1-2 p.m.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East
500 South.

Bryan Fredrick Thielke, 58, died at home of pancreatic cancer on Feb.
8, 2010. He was born Sept. 18, 1951 in Salt Lake City, the son of Barry
Arthur Thielke and Glenna Ruth Archer. He attended East High School and
the University of Utah. While in college, he did a summer journalism
internship in New York City. There, he met Linda Brown, another intern
from California. They carried on a long-distance romance while finishing
college, and were married in Salt Lake City in 1978. Bryan realized his
dream of working in television news when he was hired on to the
assignment desk at KSL in Salt Lake. He worked his way up to producer,
and then moved on to another producer position at KMGH in Denver. In
1983, he was hired at KIRO TV in Seattle, where he eventually became the
assignment manager. He is survived by: his wife, Linda of Issaquah;
daughter and family Kathleen, Eric and Georgia Gustafson of Tinley Park,
IL; son Brett of Kirkland; brother Bruce of Salt Lake City; sister and
family Merle, Ron and Elizabeth Witter of Gig Harbor; and his extended
news family at KIRO. The Thielke family greatly appreciates the
outstanding medical care Bryan received from: Dr. Shawn Nixon; Dr.
Philip Gold; Alice Albright, RN; pharmacist Martin Daffron; and
Evergreen Hospice. Services will be held at Flintoft's Funeral Home, 540
E. Sunset Way, Issaquah on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation
will be held one hour prior to services. Private burial will be at
Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
donations in Bryan's memory to Arts Corps, a non-profit arts education
program.
---------------------------------- Dorothy Louise Thielke married
Sam Pentico May 18, 1933 in Wasatch County, Utah. He was 24, she
was 23. -James Pentico, 77 of Sioux Falls, died Friday,
September 13, 3013 at the V.A. Regional Medical Center in Sioux Falls
with his family at his side.
James Karl Pentico, son of Samuel and Dorothy (Thielke) Pentico, was
born April 11, 1936 at Park City, Utah. He was raised and educated in
that area, graduating from Grand Junction High School.
In 1954, he enlisted in military service and served in the US Navy
aboard the USS Midway. He received his honorable discharge in 1958. That
same year, he married Denise Winters. They had two sons, Joseph and
Christopher.
Jim attended Southern Colorado State College where he earned his
Bachelor’s Degree in 1964. He continued his education at Sam Houston
State College in Huntsville, TX where he earned his Master’s Degree.
Jim moved to Sioux Falls in 1973 where he taught Criminal Justice at
Augustana College and Sioux Falls College until 1987. He also practiced
as a private polygraph examiner from 1978 to 1995. Following which, he
served as a bailiff for many years.
Jim was a member of Alpha Kappa Lamda Criminal Justice Fraternity, one
of the co-founders of the BMW Autobahn Society, BMW National Motorcycle
Owners Group, American Legion Post #15, was a 52 year member of the
Masons where he was active in Minnehaha Lodge #5 A.F. & A.M. and in
2001, joined El Riad Shrine as an active clown known as “Doc Ho Ho”. In
2002, he received the “Hal of a Clown Award” from the Shrine. “Doc Ho
Ho” filled the prescription of laughter and happiness to many children
and adults alike. From 1986 to 1988, he was Santa Claus in the window of
the Shriver’s Building and rode in the Christmas Parade each year.
On August 29, 1986, he was united in marriage with Jeanne DuBose at
McKennan Park in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed motorcycling with his BMW
friends all over the country as well as Mexico. He had a friend that he
picked up in Oklahoma City for seven years and always returned in time
for the next school year. They enjoyed snowbirding to Naples, FL during
the winter months, beginning in 2008. They enjoyed this until Jim’s
health declined, at which time, they lived permanently in Sioux Falls
from that point on.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Jeanne, of Sioux
Falls, SD; three sons, Joseph Pentico of Denver, CO; Christopher Pentico
and his wife, Leann, of Denver, CO, Patrick DuBose of Sioux Falls, SD;
two daughters, Danielle Armstrong of Naples, FL, and Rochelle Olson, of
Sioux Falls, SD; 9 grandchildren, Audra Pentico, Jonathan Pentico, Sean
Everett, Kyle Everett, Baylee Pentico, Lynda Pentico, Hallee Pentico,
J.C. Pentico and Ashley Armstrong; and one great grandchild, Ryder
Pentico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Martha Davee; and a
niece, Mary Davee.

Wednesday night and went over on the Arickaree river for an extended visit with
the families of Wm. Davisson, Chas. Shield and the Thielke brothers."
Daniel Shields and Mary Thielke were married in Denver March 3, 1873.
William Andrew Davisson 1865-1909 married Augusta Shields Thielke 1864-1956.
Auguste and William are buried in Lucas Cemetery, Idalia.

In 1908, Oscar Shields and Ed Thielke pleaded guilty, Shields fined $100,
Theilke $25 - possibly liquor indictments.
Ernest 1854-1901 and Louise 1819-1909 are buried in the Lucas cemetery.
MARY and AUGUSTA
Daniel Shields was born in Illinois Sept 28, 1839, and worked in a meat
market in Black Hawk, Colorado, where he met Mary Theilke. Her mother and
sister Auguste followed her from Germany.
1873 Denver "MARRIED - In this city, March 3, Mr. Daniel Shields and Miss
Mary Tike."
Mary Shields died November 4, 1883 leaving Daniel to raise the two boys.
Oscar Nathan married Cora, died in 1933, buried in Riverside. Daniel
married Elizabeth B. Riedesel August 8, 1899, died in Denver in 1964, buried in
Crown Hill.
Mary's sister, Auguste Thieke, came to help out and she and Daniel were
married in 1885.
Daniel Shields died in 1892. Daniel # 35499667 and Mary #
120236690 are buried in
Denver's Riverside Cemetery. Auguste Shields remained on the ranch and later
married William Davisson.
June 1, 1887 "Mrs. Mary F. Shields, late president of the state lodge of the
Women's Christian Temperance Union, was buried at Colorado Springs on Sunday."
Daniel Shields filed for an invalid petition October 1892, for service in C,
55th Illinois Infantry, and Augusta Shields filed January 21, 1893 for a widow's
pension.
William A. Davisson is in Clinton County, Iowa in 1880, 14, born in Iowa,
with parents Franklin 58 and Louisa J. Davisson, 37. Carrie is 17, George
9, and Martha 7. (one tree said Carrie died Oct 13, 1940 in Yuma County,
and Margaret Emma Davisson died April 12, 1941 in Idalia, Yuma County, and
George died Nov 22, 1947 in Idalia)
1905 "Mr. and Mrs. 'Kilesmithe' from 'Deadville', Colo. arrived here Tuesday
evening and went out to the Davisson ranch to visit her mother Mrs. Davisson who
is very ill."
1906 "Mrs. Wm. Davisson of the Arickaree, accompanied by her sister, Mrs.
Kaulk, of Illinois, who was visiting the former, departed Monday afternoon for
Leadville where they go to visit another sister a few weeks.
Auguste and William Davisson.
"He leaves a wife and one child, Louisa, about ten year of age. His
little son, Franklin, died about four years ago.. Mr. Davisson owned
one of the oldest ranches in this country, having come to Colorado twenty-three
years ago."
In February 1910, Auguste Davisson, administratrix of the estate of William
A. Davisson, deceased, filed notice of estate settlement.
In 1910 Idalia precinct, Yuma County, George W. Davisson is 39, Nora 22,
Louis 1, and William five months.

MARY CARY DAVISSON HILL
In 1900 Idalia precinct, Arthur J. Hill is 44, Carrie 37, with Anna 6, Alva
9, Arthur 4.
Alva and Anna were at the

Arthur and Mary C. are in Idalia in 1910, with Alva L. 19, Arthur J. Jr. 14, and Myrtle M.
8.
Alva Hill married Glatus Giffin Feb 12, 1911, recorded in Yuma County.
She died in 1912 and is buried in Lucas.# 52235745
Alva L. Hill married Grace J. Smith Oct 29, 1914, recorded in Kit Carson
County.
Services for Alva L. Hill, 79, Notus, who died in a Caldwell, Idaho
hospital Friday, April 3, 1970, will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at
the Dakan Funeral Chapel by the Rev. C.C. Smith of the Euclid Church of
the Nazarene in Boise. Interment will be at Hillcrest.
Mr. Hill was born Sept. 18, 1890, at Tuttle, Colo., and was reared in
Colorado. He married Gladys Giffin in 1911. She died in 1912. He married
Grace Smith on Oct. 19, 1914, at Burlington, Colo. They celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary in October of 1969. The couple moved to Eugene,
Ore., in 1935, where they lived until coming to Idaho in 1947, where
they had resided since. Mr. Hill had been farmer for most of his life.

Mary died in 1940, and is buried with Arthur at Lucas 52235749
In 1911 George W. was administrator of the estate of Eliza J. Davisson, with
heirs himself, Mary C. Hill, Margaret E. Davisson, Martha E. Beck, Lewis H.
Davisson, and Louise Jane Davisson, minor daughter of Wm. Davisson deceased.

Louis Thielke, brother, 62, widowed, also born in Germany, immigrating in 1881,
is ranch foreman.
1917 Idalia "Mrs. Augusta Davisson purchased a new Ford car recently."
1923 "Mrs. Auguste Davisson, a former resident of the south divide, but now
living at Colorado Springs... says she and her daughter Louise spent a month
last winter in California and had a fine time."
Cornelius J. Savage divorced Henrietta Savage in Chaffee County in 1925.
Louise J. Davisson married Cornelius J. Savage Jun 30, 1928, recorded in El
Paso County.
In 1930 Colorado Springs, Auguste Davisson, 66 widowed -MALE - has her
daughter Louise Savage 28, Colorado- a waitress in a restaurant. Charles
Savage, 48, Illinois, is a ready-to-wear salesman.
In 1940 Colorado Springs, Cornelius is a clerk for the WPA, Louisa no
occupation. Cousin Mary Shields, 23, born in Colorado, is with them.
Cornelius J. Savage 1881-1972 is buried in Colorado Springs # 83903662 - so
is Louise J. Savage #83903661. "Louise J. Savage died November 29, 1997 in
Wheat Ridge, born September 22, 1899. She lived Colorado Springs
1940-1965. She then moved to Yuma, Co, and then to a nursing home in Wheat
Ridge."
Auguste Davisson 1864-1956 is buried in Lucas # 52235693.
In 1910 Idalia, the next household after the Davisson's is Adolph Thielke, 58, widowed, born in Germany,
immigrating in 1882.
In 1918 eighty acres "pursuant to the application of Adolph Thielke" was to
be sold at auction by the Land Office.
Adolph H. and Julia Thielke divorced in Fremont County in 1925.
Adolph Thielke applied for old age pension in 1933 in Fremont County.
Adolph Thielke - 1852-1936 is buried in Canon City. # 105327578.
Adolph Thielke married Regina D. Malenck June 9, 1935, recorded in Lake
County.
In 1920 Morgan County, "Lois Thulke" , 73, male, immigrating in 1895,
naturalized in 1909 is farming, with son Emel, 43, born in Germany. Emil
was a clerk in Denver in 1910, living in a boarding house, and Emil Charles
Thielke registered in Morgan County, born Nov 13, 1875, farming, nearest
relative father Louis Thielke, also of Fort Morgan.
In 1930 Morgan County, Emil C. is the head, 54, with father Louis 81,
widowed., farming. They're still there in 1940, 64 and 92 years old.

at the age of 93. Madeline was born April 18, 1912 in Leadville, Colorado to
Richard A. Thielke and Laura Alice (Feller) Thielke. She married Clarence G.

In 1940 Adolph F., a gateman at a mine, is married to Minnie D., 32,
both born in Colorado, and they have Stanley A. 2. Stanley A. Thielke
married Janet L. Bower Sept 12, 1992, in Arapahoe County Colorado.
Adolph, dying 1969 at age 64 and Minnie Tholen Thielke -dying
1956 at age 48 are in Leadville St. Joseph cemetery.\

son Leonard, 3. Phillip is running a saloon at 604 Harrison Avenue in 1911
Leadville.

with Emmit I., 6 and Clara E. 5.
In 1930 Canon City Emma is divorced, with Leonard- a salesman at a hardware
store. Emmitt Fleming Jr. is 16, Clara Fleming 15, and William P. Fleming

In 1940 Emma is in Canon City, 56, with son William 17.

stove repairman, married to Mary.
In 1920 Leadville, Philip is 37, Mary 36, Evelyn 18, Loretta 16, Louise 13,
and Mildred 11.
Philip Kleinschmidt registered for WWII in Tracy, California, born Nov 4,
1889 at Leadville, Colorado. He's working for the Southern Pacific at the
Tracy roundhouse shops.
Philip and Mary are living in Lodi California in 1961.
Philip died December 5, 1965, in San Joaquin County, birth date Nov 4, 1880.
So there were at least three different birth years for him.
