Louisa Pitts,    Mildred

In 1880 Jackson County, Iowa, Joseph Pitts, 52, Elisebeth 43, have Anna and Mary, both 14, John 13, Daniel 11, Peter 6, Susan 4, and Nicholas 2.

(Susan born about 1875 in Richland Iowa, father Joseph, mother Elizabeth Kline, married Daniel Beck October 11, 1898 in Jackson Iowa)

Joseph 1827-1900 and Elizabeth 1836-1922 are buried in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Jackson County,

In 1900 Louisa Pitts, born Feb 1884 in Iowa, is in Jackson County Iowa with her widowed mother Lizzie born January 1837 in Germany.

1909 "Miss Pitts, of Iowa, who has been visiting the Chas. Shields family for some time, left Wednesday morning for Denver, where she will remain some time.  Miss Pitts is a cousin of Mrs. Shields."

In 1910 Jackson County, Iowa, Louise Pitts, born about 1884 in Iowa, is living with her brothers Daniel 39 and Nicholas 30.  All were born in Iowa.

1911 Idalia items "Mrs. Pitts went to Denver to visit friends for a while.  Miss Pauline Dieckman is taking her place in the hotel during her absence."
 

1911 Wray "Mrs. M.J. Pitts left Monday on No. 13, for Denver."

Louisa proved up 320 acres in 27, 28, 33, and 34, 3S 45W in 1913.

Louise Pitts, born at La Mott, Jackson County, Iowa, married William Strasser born in Maden about 1882to Felix Strasser and Martha Meier April 28, 1915.

 In 1930 Louise M. Strasser, 46 is with her sister Josephine Pitts 48 and brother Daniel 58 in Jackson County.  Her son William J. Strasser, 13 born in Iowa and sister Susan Hutchins 53, widowed is also with them.

In 1940 she's 55, still with Daniel 70, Josephine 57, and John William Strasser 23.

LAMOTTE, Iowa -- John W. Strasser, 73, of Vacaville, Calif., formerly of LaMotte, died Tuesday, April 25, 1989, at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, Vacaville.

Services were at 10 am Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vacaville, with burial in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Strasser was a retired ammunitions superintendent for the Concord Naval Weapons Station.  He also was a retired lieutenant colonel of the Army.

He was born April 11, 1916, in LaMotte.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Retired Officers Association, and the Catholic Order of Foresters and Sons in Retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Regina "Jean"; two daughters, Linda Frederickson of Dixon, Calif., and Kay of Vacaville; four granddaughters and a sister, Vivian Chapman of Hanover, Ill.
