teacher in Salinas. One Ancestry tree said Benjamin died 1892 near Vernon,
Colorado. (that is undocumented) In 1860 Appanoose County, Iowa,
Ira 55 and Elizabeth 52 Tucker have Marissa 17, Ann E. 15, and
Blackburn J. 13. In 1849 this family moved to Iowa and took a
claim near Moulton. During the Civil War the bushwhackers harassed
Ira and his 12 year-old son. At the end of the war, April 1865, Ira
took his family (with the exception of Elizabeth -should be Amanda,
maw - who had married) to California. In 1870 Salinas, B.T Nixon ,
32, born in New Jersey, is a retail merchant, married to Elisabeth
19. 1875 Monterey County, California - B.T. Nixon had a furniture
store (Cook, Nixon & Stanley) in Salinas, and B.T. Nixon was

1893 The Baptist Church of Salinas, was organized in 1873, and the
church edifice was erected in 1875. It has a seating capacity of
about 200. Rev. E. B. Hatch is the present pastor. The trustees are
Dr. E. K. Abbott, Judge J. K. Alexander, W. F. Treat, Ira Tucker,
Henry Whisman. James and William Nixon, of Salinas, were enrolled
at Heald's Business College in San Francisco in 1895.
SALINAS. March 14, 1897 —Mrs. Ira Tucker, wife of the oldest
voter on the great register of Monterey County, was dangerously
burned at her home here last night. The old lady, who on her
next birthday will be 90 years of age, was sitting near an open
grate, w hen her skirt caught fire and soon her body was one
mass of flames. The lady was sitting alone In the room and had
it not been for the timely interference of members of the family
the unfortunate woman would have been cremated. As it was she
was so badly burned that it may yet cause her death. The face
and arms are badly burned and the victim is greatly suffering
from nervous prostration and from the effects of the burns.

widowed in 1920 Salinas, living alone. William E. Nixon is a ranch
manager in Salinas in 1920, 46, married to Tinsey, 45. They
have Katherine 15 and James 5. In 1930 Salinas, William and
Tinsey.56 born in Missouri have James 15.
James Allyn Nixon, born Jun 28, 1914, mother's maiden name Garren,
died Oct 4, 1994 in Monterey County. Shirley Corter Peakes of 74
Ross Circle, Oakland, married Katherine Nixon October 30, 1926 in
Alameda County. Her father was William E. Nixon, mother Tinsey
Garren. Shirley was the fire chief in Lafayette in 1949.

Katherine Peakes is married to Shirley C. Peakes, a chemist in 1930

Lafayette, California married Bonnie Waneve Wecker in Oakland in
1954. Charles J. Peakes, husband of the late Eva Peakes, died
June 1965 in Pleasant Hill, California. Tinsey Garren Nixon 1874-1943 - born in Missouri, father Garren,

Elwood Nixon 1873-1934 are buried in Salinas. James Taylor Nixon, of
Monterey County, registered, born April 9, 1875, a fireman for an
oil company, relative Pauline E. Nixon, same address. 1939 Santa
Cruz "FORECLOSURE ASKED Complaint seeking judgment for $19,554.18
was filed yesterday by J. T. Nixon, Tinsey Nixon, Katherine N.
Peakes and J. A. Nixon against Allan R. Tuttle and others. It is
also for interest at 7 per cent compounded annually from March 1,
1929, and a further sum equal to five per cent of the principal and
interest for attorney fees. Assignment of interest upon real and
personal property is asked, and that it be foreclosed." April 10,
1942 Santa Cruz "The body of James Taylor Nixon was taken to Salinas
by White's mortuary Friday, where funeral services were held Friday
after noon from Struve and La Porte's funeral parlors. The King City
lodge of Masons, of which he was a member, conducted the services.
Inurnment followed in the I. O O. F. crematory in Salinas." Justin
Taylor Nixon is a performer "a lovely tenor" in the Palo Alto
Players (California) in 2007.

Troy, Kansas "Joseph A. Nixon, aged 72 years, died at Wray, Colorado, last
Thursday, November 16. Mr. Nixon was a pioneer in Doniphan county, having come
to this county from Maryland. He had been a railroad engineer in the east, but
was engaged in the saloon business during the greater part of the time that he
lived in Troy. From Troy, Mr. Nixon went to Rooks county, in this state, where
he lived for five or six years, most of the time in Stockton. He has four
children, three sons and a daughter. George Nixon is employed in Textor Bros,
grocery store in St. Joseph, Joseph A. Nixon, Jr., is living in Wathena, William
Nixon is a resident of Rock Port, Mo., and the daughter is the wife of James K.
Anderson, of Troy."

Porterville officiating. Interment
will take place at Vandalia Cemetery
in Porterville.
Mrs. McClintick was a native of
Carlton, Nev., and a resident of
Stockton for one year, previously of
Springville. She was a foster mother
for 10 years, raising dozens of
teenage daughters. She formerly
owned a beauty salon in Garden
Grove, for more than 20 years. She
also farmed in the agriculture area
of California.
Survivors include three sons,
Robert McClintick of Pomona, Gene
McClintick of Strathmore and Dennis
McClintick of Dallas, Texas; three
daughters, Marilyn Miller of Denver,
Colo., Susan Perry of Simi Valley
and Cindy Thomas of Stockton; foster
daughter, Sarah Xoasavanah; two
brothers, Tommy Nixon of Southern
California and George Nixon of Salt
Lake City, Utah; a sister, Marian
Nixon of Bakersfield; and 37
grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McClintick was preceded in
death by her husband of 46 years,
Robert McClintick, in 1985; one
brother; and four sisters.

Ardery's father Amon Curfman established a hardware store in Tarkio in 1881,
