Frank A. Brant of Vernon was a witness for the 1919 claim of Artie Chamberlain for land in 33, 2S  44W.

Lewis Brant age 26, married Francis Homan in Pottawattamie County, Iowa December 28, 1882.

Lottie Mae Brant was born to Wiley E. Brant and Louise Stevens January 23, 1891 in Johnson County, Iowa

In 1910 Idalia precinct, Willey Brant, 24 born in Iowa is farming.  

The next household is Louis, 53, Illinois, widowed, with son Perry D. 17.

1911 Wray "William Shaffer pleaded guilty to stealing a horse from Fred Shadduck west of Vernon, sentenced from three to five years."

1912 Wray "Miss Rosa Shadduck came in from Superior, Nebr., yesterday to spend the winter with her parents, F. L. Shadduck and wife, of Vernon."

November 12, 1981 Belleville, Kansas  Rose Mae Brant, daughter of Fred L. and Minnie O. Palmer Shadduck was born September 8,1896, near Vernon, Colo., and died at Republic County Hospital in Belleville November 7,1981, at the age of 86 years, one month and 29 days. She received her education in the rural schools near Vernon, Colo. She was united in marriage to Willey E. Brant, on March 30, 1914, and to this union four children were born. They moved to Republic County in 1924 and were engaged in farming until their retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Women of Republic. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Edwin; one daughter, Ethel; two brothers, Millard and William; one sister, Irene. She is survived by her husband, Willey of Belleville; one daughter, Mrs. Lola Kline and one son, Beryl Brant, both of Phillipsburg; one brother, Leslie Shadduck of Belleville; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held November 10 at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel of Belleville, conducted by the Rev. Loren Silsby. Interment was in Washington Cemetery northeast of Republic

Lewis proved up two quarters in 28, 3S 45W in 1914, and Willey a quarter next to him in 1913.  Willey's witnesses were Walter A. Zion, Grant S. Whitmore, William Lucas, and Charles D. Shields, all of Idalia.

Perry Dave Brant registered at Idalia, working for Augusta Davisson.  He was supporting his father, and was born May 6, 1893 at Madison, Nebraska.

In 1925 Republic County, Kansas, P.D. is 37, C.M. 22, with M.E. 1 and W.J. Cassen 4.

In 1930 Jewell County, Kansas, Perry I. Brant 36 Nebraska, and Cora 26, Kansas, have Marcella 6 Nebraska, Dwight 2, Kansas, and Cora's son Wayne Cassens, 9, Nebraska.

In 1940 Republic County Galen I. Imler is a laborer, 23, wife Marcile E. 16 (she was in Nuckolls County Nebraska in 1935.

In 1959 Galen and Marcile are in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he is an attendant at the state hospital.

Services were held at Superior Wednesday for Perry D. Brant, 63, a retired cement plant employee who died early Monday afternoon at the Superior hospital.
Death came as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head. The investigating authorities, Sheriff Emil Klawitter, and County Attorney W.E. Garrison, found a .44 magnum revolver beside him in the garage at the Brant home at 739 East Seventh street (sic).
Survivors include his wife and three children.

Cora Mae Brant, 86, Nelson, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1988, at the Broadstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital, Superior. Mrs. Brant was born Cora Mae Heater on Aug. 17,1902, near Esbon, Kan. Her husband, Pat, died in 1963; and three sons, Dwight, Vaeden and Richard, also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Cassens and Bob Brant, both of Superior; a daughter, Marcile Imler of Hardy; two brothers, Lester Heater of Smith Center and Oliver Heater of Lincoln, Neb.; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 10 great- great-grandchildren . The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Baptist Church, Superior, the Rev. Phil Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior

Galen I. Imler of Hardy, Nebr., was born October 17,1916 on a farm near Courtland and died Sunday, December 11,1977 at his home.
He had lived in Washington and Lincoln until August when he moved to Hardy. He was a World War II veteran.

Surviving are the widow, Marcile, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Sharlene Taylor, Welton, Ariz.; Mrs. Janet Schnoop, and Mrs. Mary Gruszka, both of Lincoln, and Teresa Imler, of the home; five sons, Ernest, Cozad, Neb., David, Dennis, and Gary, all of Lincoln, and Kirk, of the home; two brothers, Boyd, York, Neb., and Cecil, Brady, Neb., four sisters, Irla Imler and Mrs. Elda Evarts, both of Dothan,
Ala.; Mrs. Marie Persinger and Mrs. Nita Dudley, both of Juniata, Neb.; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15 at Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior, Nebr., with the Rev. Gary Bickens officiation. Burial will be in White Rock cemetery, Republic County, Kansas.

Wayne Cassens, 74, Superior, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 1995, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckols County Hospital, Superior. Mr. Cassens was born Jan. 11, 1921, near Cozad and had been a resident of Lebanon, Kan., and Republic, Kan. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Superior, and Gideons International- Superior Camp. A grandson preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Atha of Superior; two daughters, Delores Roesti of Burr Oak, Kan., and Nancy Nelson of Lawrence; two sons, Douglas Wayne of Webber, Kan., and Wesley Dean of Hastings; two sisters, Marcile Imler of Hardy and Barbara Ruser of Grant; two brothers, Jack Jr. of Grants Pass, Ore., and Bob Brant of Superior; and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene, Superior, the Rev. Leland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, with military rites.

David G. Imler 1944 - 2008
On Saturday evening, May 10, our Heavenly Father called David G. Imler, 63, of Great Bend, home. He passed away at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. David Galen Imler was born at 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 1944, in Nuckolls County, near Superior, Neb.

He was welcomed by not only his parents Galen and Marcile Earnestine Imler but an older sister Sharlene and big brother Ernie. In all, the Imlers had 12 siblings. David grew up around Superior.

In 1962 he left school and joined the U.S. Navy. Boot camp was in San Diego, Calif. He completed his education in the Navy. While serving his country he met and married Carolyn "Elaine" Estrada on May 28, 1966, in Chula Vista, Calif. She survives. He was a retired truck driver for Koch Industries. He was a resident of Great Bend since 1981, coming from Lincoln, Kan.

Mr. Imler was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, a life member of VFW Post 7428, Hoisington, and of Eagles Lodge No. 646 and American Legion Argonne Post 180, both of Great Bend. He loved his family, life and camping with family and friends. He didn't know any strangers, only knew them as friends.

He leaves behind his wife, Elaine, of the home; four sons, Jerry Imler and wife Treasa of Olmitz, Dan Imler and wife Barbara, and Roy Imler, all of Lawton, Okla., and Glenn Imler of Great Bend; two daughters, Angelina Langen of Great Bend and Tuesday Noonan of Pawnee Rock; his mother, Marcile Imler of Hardy, Neb.; two brothers, Gary Imler and wife Judy of Pittsfield, Mass., and Kirk Imler of Cuba, Kan.; three sisters, Sharlene Taylor of Ajo, Ariz., Mary Gruszka and husband Joseph of Mankato and Teresa Dyke and husband Terry of Cuba, Kan.; two brothers-in-law, Gene Estrada of Stroud, Okla., and Robert Estrada of San Diego; a sister-in-law, Ramona Jones and husband Dennis of Shafner, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Bill, Kasi, Alysia and Matthew of Lawton, Okla., and Taylor, Paige and Jessica of Great Bend; one stepgrandchild, Derrick; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Devan.

He was preceded in death by four infant children, his father, five brothers, Sherman Dean Imler, Edwin Ray Imler, Lonn Boyd Imler, Ernie Imler and Dennis Dale Imler; and a sister, Janet Mae Schnopp.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiant. Interment will be at the Golden Belt Cemetery, Great Bend, with military honors conducted by a U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Perry died November 1961, last residence Kansas.

Willey Edwin Brant registered in Cozad Nebraska, born March 24, 1886, married, a laborer for Frank E. Lewis of Cozad.
