The 1900 census has James born Sept 1868 and Marion E. Oct. 1867, both Wisconsin, newly married, farming at Glendale precinct.

This might be James -father of James and Jeptha. He and Louise are in Moody County, South Dakota in 1900, with son Jese M. born Feb 1877 in Wisconsin.
1902 "Mr. J.E. Ashley and family have gone to Flandreau, South Dakota, for a summer's outing, and visit to his parents."

the Powell Nursing Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22,
1993, at Easton Funeral Home in Powell, Wyo. Burial will be in
Riverside Cemetery at Cody, Wyo. # 80022536 She's buried next to Leonard A. (Agnar Leonard) Lindstrom 1898-1968.
He was born Dec 7, 1898 in Burlington, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Stein

Margaret married Elmer Robert Dempster, died February 7, 1996 and is

Another web source says he was James Edward Ashley, marrying Marion Edith Ashley.
In 1940 Park County, Wyoming, Florence M. Brown, 28, and Paul W. Brown 30 have James M. -eleven months.
Florence Ashley Brown - Oct 22, 1911 - Oct 7, 1988 is buried in Cody. Paul Brown, dying in 1961, is also listed there.
Fern Ashley, 28, born at "Idelinia" (has to be Idalia), married A.V. Kinder (born 1904 at Whitehall, Montana to David Kinder and Margaret Blankenship) October 29, 1932 in Billings, Montana.
Fern and A.V. ("Render" in the Ancestry index) are in Hot Springs County, Wyoming in 1940, where they were in1935 They have Don A. , born in Wyoming. Donald Ashley Kinder is a sophomore at the University of Wyoming in 1954.
Fern 1902-1982 # 80022519 and A.V. Kinder 1907-2001 are buried in Cody.
Elsie Julia Giberson, born Oct 21, 1905 in Cody, died February 1994 in Powell, Wyoming, buried in Cody # 43284635. She's the only Giberson in that cemetery's records.

Minnie (widow of Jeptha) is in Denver in 1951, living at 1277 Verbena.
Jeptha J. 1867-1939 and Minnie W. 1887-1959 are buried in Ordway, Colorado.'
