| In 1870 Benton County Iowa Isaiah and Mary Welch have Ella May 9,
Wilber H. 6, Charles 3, and Ida May 1. In 1880 Thayer County, Nebraska
Isaiah and Mary have Wilber, Charles, and Ida.
They're all still in Thayer County, Nebraska in their 1885 census.
Isaiah has a "parlor" - maybe billiards or barber ??
Wilbur cash-claimed a quarter in 14, 4S 43W in 1891, a quarter next to
it on a homestead in 1896, and a third on a Timber claim in 1899.
Charles proved up a quarter in 26 in 1901.
In 1900 Lansing Wilbur said he was born March 1864 in Iowa.
In 1910 Hale Wilber is single 46, born in Iowa of Pennsylvania parents.

Edward S. Past of Lincoln Nebraska fought from Bull Run to Antietam, had
Melissa S. born Mar 16, 1866. She married Frank C. Dimorier of Belvidere Neb Oct 6,
1866, had two children. In 1880 Thayer County Sarah is 10, Melissa 14. In 1910
Saint Louis County, Missouri Edward S. and Mary A. have Mollie, 27
Nebraska, Melissa Dimorier, 44, born in Pennsylvania, married 24 years.
Melissa has had three children, one living.

tree said Frank and Melissa adopted Floyd, had Zelle Eva Oct 17,1887 in
Thayer County - had Mark Past Dimorier May 6, 1892 in Thayer County, and
had Si Edward Dimorier Jan 1900. (Si - Jan 28, 1900 - Apr 21, 1901
and Mark Dimorier - May 4, 1892 - Oct 12, 1909 are in the Hebron
cemetery)

In 1900 Thayer County Frank is a salesman, born Sept 1857 in New
York, Melissa Mar 1866 in Nebraska, Zella Oct 1887 , Mark P. May 1892,
Si Edward Jan 1900, all Nebraska, and Floyd D. 15, New York, "adopted
son".
Sarah married Ernest Clark Hunt, who died May 25, 1916 and is buried in
Omaha.
Howard E. Hunt served in Germany in 1920, and in 1940 was in Hale,
49, married to Bernice M. 46
1922 Yuma County Melissa Dimorier divorced Frank C. Dimorier (Frank is buried
in David City, Nebraska)
In 1920 Melissa Dimorier is 53, living in Grand Valley (400 miles west),
widowed, living alone, a telephone operator.

In 1920 Hale Wilbur is married to Sarah, 46, born in Nebraska, and
brother Charles, 53 is with them.

1922 "Howard Hunt, a prominent newspaper man of Kansas City, was a recent
visitor at the home of his mother, Mrs. Wilbur Welch. Mr. Hunt was very
favorably impressed with this part of the west."
Frank F. Fletcher had filed in 1910 for his land. He was to prove
up in January 1923 with Wilbur H. and Charles E. Welch, and Ira L. and Aaron I.
Rowley as witnesses.
In 1930 Hale, Wilbur and Sarah have granddaughter Nellie Blair with
them.
Charles E. and Melissa have Finley M. Blair, grandson, 7, born in Nebraska,
with them.
Wilbur 1864-1933 and Sarah Past Welch 1869-1934 are buried in Armel.
So is Sarah's mother Mary A. (Whiteman) Past - Sept 23, 1844 - 1930. In
1920 Mary had been living with daughter Margaret A (Herman) Eiche in Rifle,
Colorado. - close to where Melissa was.
Charles and Melissa are living in Hale in 1940
One tree said Melissa was born March 16, 1866 in Uniontown Pennsylvania and
died 1959 in San Diego County, California. Death records March 16, 1866 -
December 22, 1959
One tree says Charles Edgar Welch was born September 18,1866 in Vinton Iowa,
and died Feb 27 1958 in San Diego County, buried in Oceanside. Death index
has his mother's maiden name Spafford.

In 1920 Kearney, Nebraska, Schuylor Blair is 31, Bertha 30, Lilly 8, Mertina 5, and Nellie,

Schuyler M. Blair, an efficient young farmer residing
on section 9, Platte township, was born upon the farm where he still
lives on the 11th of October, 1888. His parents, J. W. and Nancy E.
(Hollenbeck) Blair, were natives respectively of New York and
Pennsylvania. The father served throughout the Civil war and although he
was in many hard fought engagements came out without a scratch. About
1880 he removed to Buffalo county, Nebraska, and took up his residence
upon a good farm in Platte township. He operated that place until 1905,
when he removed to Colorado, where his demise occurred. His wife
survives and still resides in that state. They were the parents of ten
children, of whom nine are living.
Schuyler M. Blair is indebted for his education to the public
schools and for his thorough training in agricultural work to his
father. After beginning his independent career he farmed in Colorado for
a time but in 1908, returned to Buffalo county, Nebraska, and in
association with his brother George began farming the old homestead of
three hundred and twenty acres on Section 9, Platte township. His land
is naturally productive and is in a high state of cultivation, and as
the brothers are practical and energetic farmers they receive a handsome
income from their labors. They raise both grain and stock, finding such
a course more profitable than specializing in either.
Mr. Blair of this review was married in 1907 to Miss Bertha Keeler,
who was born in Iowa and is a daughter of Samuel and Alma (Alois)
Keeler. The father has passed away but the mother is still living and
makes her home in Colorado. (1900 Boulder County S.W. and Alma Keeler have
Mabel 24, Clarence 20, Bertha 11, and Harry 4). Samuel Wilson
Keeler, January 1844 - Jan 4, 1906 is buried in Boulder.
1911 "Mrs. S. M Blair of Gibbon, Nebraska, came to
Wray Friday and went out to the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Keeler,
who lives in the Hale precinct where she will visit several weeks."
In 1920 Harry Keeler "Farmer and Breeder of Registered
Chester White Hogs, PO Armel" is in Hale, married April 13, 1918 to Nellie (Browning),
22 with ten-month-old Robert. Clarence is also in Hale, with
widowed mother Alma, 64. He had claimed land in 5S 42W. So
Alma's grandchildren, orphans Nellie and Mertina Alma is
also with Clarence in 1930 Hale. Clarence is 50,
married to 21-year-old Frances, (Clarence married Frances M. Koch June
6, 1928 and they have ten-month-old Shirley R.
In 1940 Clarence, still in Hale with Florence, has Sheiley 10 and Kenneth
L. 8.

So are Harry E. 1896-1981, Nellie G. 1897-1970
Harlan Fred Boden entered the presence of the
Lord on Thursday, May 30 th, 2013. He
was born to Fred and Rose (Pfeiler) Boden on
March 23 rd, 1926 and lived on the
home farm in Idalia, Colorado all his life. He
was 87 years old. Harlan married Shirley
Keeler on June 22nd, 1952. They
enjoyed over 60 years of life together. They
lived their entire life on the family farm in
Idalia and in the last few months of Harlan’s
life lived together at the Hillcrest Care Center
in Wray, CO.
Farming wasn’t an occupation for Harlan, it
was his life. Besides farming, he also worked
as a carpenter for many years and was an
excellent mechanic. He loved his family and
friends and always enjoyed meeting new people.
He was a member of the NRA and an excellent
rifleman with many awards. He also enjoyed
hunting, water-skiing, fishing and in his last
years looked forward to his trips to Cabelas in
Sydney, NE.
He was preceded in death by his father and
mother Fred and Rose Boden of Idalia and his son
Michael Boden of Bakersfield, California. He is
survived by his wife, Shirley Boden of Idalia,
sisters Virginia Lengel of Burlington and
Dorothy (Denny) Witmer of Colorado Springs;
daughter Phyllis (Michael) Beecham of La Junta,
CO; his grandchildren Sarah Beecham of La Junta,
Michelle (Daniel) Blackwell of La Junta, Joshua
Beecham of La Junta, Kiley (Mike) Roberts of
Bakersfield, CA, Kimberly (Charlie) Sandiford of
Burnsville, MN, Kody (Brandi) Boden of Fort
Irwin, CA; Great-grandchildren Cayden Blackwell
of La Junta, Pacey, McKenzie, and Liam Roberts
of Bakersfield, CA, Presley and Finley Sandiford
of Burnsville, MN, Elizabeth and Gavyn Boden of
Fort Irwin, CA; and numerous cousins, nephews
and nieces.
Funeral services were held at St. Johns
Church, south of Idalia on Monday, June 3rd,
2013 at 10:00am. Services were officiated by
Pastor Chuck Wright and Pastor Joe Berry.
Interment was held in the St. John Cemetery in
Idalia, Colorado. Memorials may be made to Feed
the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK
73101-0036. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Blair are the parents of three
children: Lilly A.; Martina R.; and Leroy, deceased.
Mr. Blair votes the republican ticket and both he and his wife
attend the Methodist Episcopal church. Although a young man he has
already won a highly creditable measure of success and his many friends
predict for him continued prosperity. The greater part of his life has
been passed in this county and he is greatly interested in its
advancement and progress and co-operates heartily in movements
calculated to further its development.
There's a Bertha Blair dying 1925 buried in Riverside Cemetery, Gibbon,
Buffalo County, Graceland lot 177.

Finley, 17, is in Kearney Nebraska in 1940, with his sister Nellie, 20, who's
married Nick Shada, 29, and they have ten-month-old Shirley Jean. One tree said
they divorced in 1956,
Dale Ellis Covert was born Nov. 12, 1924, at Gibbon, Neb., one of ten
children, to Harold F. and Marjorie L. (Long) Covert. As a young man he grew up
and attended school in Gibbon. Dale was not able to finish high school, but did
go on to receive his GED at a later date. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on
May 20, 1943, during WWII, and served in the Pacific Theatre. He returned to the
Kearney, Neb., area after being discharged from the service in 1946.
Dale was employed at the Hastings and Grand Island Ammunitions Depots before
marrying Nellie Blair on Feb. 11, 1955. The couple settled in Kearney before
moving to Hamlet, Neb., where they purchased a small grocery/gas station. Dale
and Nellie operated the store until retirement. Dale also worked for the Hayes
County Road Department as a maintainer operator.
Nellie Lucille Covert entered this Life, Aug. 11, 1919 at Gibbon, Nebraska to
Schyler and Bertha (McNerva) Blair and departed Apr.22, 1999 at Wauneta,
Nebraska.
Pastor Matt Hoffman officiated at her service., and Mrs. Delores Flaming
accompanied Mrs. Nancy Wach who sang.
Casketbearers were, Brian and Troy Hoff, Eldon Kerchal, Larry Jeffers, Don Meyer
and Monte Cooper.
Interment was in the Meadow Lawn Cemetery at Hamlet, Nebraska.

Zelle married George W. Allen Nov 1908,
George W. Allen 31 and Zelle E. 22, are in Thayer County in 1910 and she said
she'd never had kids. They're in Alamosa, Colorado in 1920, with
Kenneth 9 and Lois Belle 3. George is a school superintendent.
They're in Scottsbluff Nebraska in 1928. In 1930 they have Kenneth R. 19 a
Nebraska nd Lois B. 13, Colorado.
Kenneth R. Allen - in Craig, Colorado cemetery died April 20, 1988, on a
stone with Elma N "Judy". Zelle Allen - 1887 -1985 is in the same
cemetery.
In 1940 Denver Zelle is a sorority house mother near the University of Denver

In 1958 Denver Zelle E (wid Geo) is living at 2385 E. Evans.
Former Craig resident Judy (Elma Katherine) Allen
died Aug. 8, 2003, after a short illness. She was 85.
Allen was born Aug.
28, 1917, in Shickley, Neb., to Edgar and Essie
Schelkopf. She had three sisters and one brother.
Allen was a resident
in the assisted living part of Brighton Gardens, in San
Diego, Calif., for the past few months. She was a
resident of Brighton Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility
for the past 3 years. Before this time, she was a
longtime resident in Craig.
Allen was married to
Kenneth R. Allen on Feb. 20, 1941. Her husband passed
away on April 20, 1988. They had one son, Dr. Steven L.
Allen, of San Diego. Dr. Allen's wife is Lori and they
have one son, Matthew.
Allen received her
teaching degree from the University of Nebraska and her
master's degree from Adams State College. She taught the
first three grades in Bruning, and loved teaching third
graders for 20 years at Sunset Elementary School in
Craig. She also worked for Dr. Mason Light in Gunnison.
She was an active member of the First Congregational
Church and PEO Chapter AJ of Craig. She enjoyed
fly-fishing and skiing at Steamboat Springs into her
80s.
Allen is survived by
her son, Steve (Lori) Allen; grandson, Matthew Allen;
brother, Joe Schelkopf, of Geneva, Neb.; sister, Ruth
Hedden, of Catonsville, Md.; and many beloved nieces and
nephews in Nebraska, Maryland, and Wisconsin.
Memorial services
were held on Aug. 14, 2003, at the First Congregational
Church with a private interment at the Craig Cemetery.
The Christian Burial Service was led by Pastor Ron
Gross. The organist was Barbara Nagoda and special piano
music was played by Judy's niece, Jan Treadway, of
Nebraska.
Memorial
contributions may be made to the First Congregational
Church of Craig.
