One tree said William was born March 1851 in Missouri, married Pheba Ellen Nash July 3, 1870 in Iowa, and died October 17, 1916.

In 1880 Taylor County Iowa Willard C. is 29, Phebe E. 31. They have William, 8, Lulie M. 7, Eva L. 4, Loyal E. 2, and brother Samuel Nelson 45.

In 1900 Weld County Willard , born Mar 1851 in Missouri, has been married 30 yeas to Phoebe E, Jan 1849 , also Missouri.  They have Ivy E. Fe 1881 Iowa, Lawrence D, Sep 1884 Iowa, and Paul D. May 1897 Colorado.

Willard proved up a quarter in 34, 4S 43W in 1894,  and a timber claim in section 33 in 1911.  Witnesses for the timber claim were Wesley F. Nash,, Wesley Crites and Joseph Rolow all of Newton, Colorado and Theodore A. Erb, Akron.

In 1910 Fort Morgan Willard and Phoebe just have Paul D. with them.

When Paul registered for WWI, he said he was born May 29, 1892 at Idalia, Colorado.  He said he was married, and in 1920 and 1930 Perkins County, Nebraska he's married to Kate, 1895, born in Nebraska, and they have Phyllis 1922, Nebraska.  Paul DeWitt Nelson married Kathrine Leota Burt Dec 23, 1914 in Brush.

Willard -1851-1916 and Phoebe E. 1849-1923 are buried in the Johnstown Cemetery, Weld County.

The Yuma County commissioners paid a Willard Nelson $24 for working on the roads in 1923...

Wm. E. proved up on a quarter in 28, 4S 43W in 1899. 

He might be the William Nelson in Des Moines County Iowa in 1900.  Born Mar 1871 in Iowa, married to years to Ida Aug 1885 Sweden.  They have Gilbert Nov 1898 and Mary Feb 1900.

In 1910 Willian and Ida have Gilbert 11, Marie 10, Annie 8, son Bener 7, Florence 2, and Memford 1.

In 1920 , still in Des Moines County, they have Gilbert Marie, Anna, Carl B. 16, Florence, Memfoerd E, and have added Frede M. 7, Elmer E. 5, and Ida I. 3.

In 1930 they just have Freda, Elmer, and Irine, and they're alone in 1940.

William 1871-1946 and Ida OLSON 1869-1941 Nelson are buried in Kossuth Cemetery, Des Moines County.
