One tree said Charles was born Feb 17, 1841 in Allen County, Ohio, and January 1, 1861 married Sarah Carr Cleland born October 14, 1839 in Jefferson County, Ohio.
In 1870 Adair County Iowa Charles 30, Sarah 27, John 8, Eddie 8 (all four born in Ohio), Jennie 2, Illinois, and Samuel Smith 27, Ireland.
In 1880 Guthrie County Iowa, C.R., and Sarah C. Crabb, both 41 born in Ohio, have John 18, Ervin 16, Jennie May 12, and Charles L. 6.
In 1880 Macoupin County, Illinois Philip born in Tennessee and Martha J. Shores in Missouri both 39 have Minerva 15, Illinois, Richard . 14 Indiana , Robert 12 Missouri, Oscar 10 Missouri , and Marinda R. 6 Illinois.
They're in Adair County, Iowa in 1885, with the same four kids.

Jennie May married Richard Taylor Shores November 26, 1890 in St Francis, Kansas. , and she's buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Gage County, Nebraska -February 12, 1868 - May 21, 1910
Richard was the son of P.H. and Martha J. Shores - probably the Philip H. Shores who cash-claimed two quarters in 2, 4S 44W in 1890 - about five miles away from the Crabb quarter. Richard and Jennie's son Harry Lee, was born Dec 25, 1891 in Haigler, so they were in the area.
Shores Family cemetery for Robert Shores, his wife and two of their children. Located "1 mile north and ½ mile east of the US 36/US 385 junction" in the SE¼ Sec 12 T4S R44W. No trace remains today.
Eli M. Shores cash-claimed a quarter in 19, 6S 44W - about a dozen miles south in Kit Carson County, in 1891. There's an Eli M. Shores in 1900 Coles County, Illinois Jan 1865 in Illinois married eight years to Susan E. September 1876 Illinois. They have Myrtle Nov 1892 and Lura A Nov 1896, both Illinois.
In 1910 they're in Woodward County, Oklahoma, with both girls. They're alone in 1920 and 1930 Woodward County, and Ellen is there, widowed, in 1940. Lura Alice SHORES Wilson born Nov 30, 1894 in Coles County, Ill, died Nov 17, 1880 in Woods County Oklahoma, and is buried in Haskew Cemetery, Woodward County,.
Eli M. 1865 - 1936 and Ellen Shores 1874 - 1950 are also in that cemetery.

Richard and Jennie were in Denver in 1900 - same time as her mother.
Philip Apr 1845 Tennessee, farming, and Martha Sept 1842 Missouri, a laundress, are in Boulder in 1900.
In 1910 Philip and Martha are in Gage County, with grandson Joe Shores, 13 (probably Oscar's son)
In the same Gage County cemetery as Richard are P.H. Shores - April 25, 1840 - Martha J.- His Wife - Sept 8, 1839- Mar 5, 1911
Fairmount Cemetery, Denver FindAGrave has a C.R. Crabb, Corp Co G- 14 2nd Reg. -- Ind. Inf. died 1920. - but there's no source for the 1920 date.
Fairmount also has a Mary Egelston Crabb - 1845-1920 - no other information
It's probably the Mary Egelston Crabb who in 1919 filed suit in Denver a suit against her husband, asking for separate maintenance. The suit said that "the home and domicile of plaintiff an defendant, at all times since their marriage, has been in the town of Fountain in El Paso County." John Egelston married Mary Eisenhardt July 31, 1892.
In 1887 Charles was appointed a notary public in Colorado
In 1892 Denver Charles R. Crabb is an apprentice at J.G. Noble & Co., living at 18 Union Pl. Edwin E. Crabb, a barber, has the same address.
In 1894 Charles is a barber at 1027 15th, living at 580 S. Pennsylvania. Edwin E. is a barber witih C.R., but lives at 1909 Stout.
In 1895 Charles is a carpenter, Edwin E. and John R. are barbers, all living at 2128 Curtis. Charles L. Crabb, a book binder at Noble & Hoeckel, also lives at 2128 Curtis.
Charles R. Crabb died in Denver April 7, 1897.
In 1899 Charles L. bkbinder John R. teamster with Eaton Ritchell, and Mrs. Sarah C. Crabb all live at 2628 Arapahoe.
In 1900 Denver Sarah C. Crabb, October 1839 in Ohio, is widowed. She's had six children, four living. John R., son, Feb 1862 in Ohio, a clerk in a hardware store, is with her.
Elmer C. Crabb - 1900-1960 is in Riverside Cemetery, Denver- the note in FindAGrave says "Mother: Sarah A. Crabb"
