In 1870 Cass County, Illinois, William Buraker is 23, Hellen 21, with Philip three months old. Myrtie Luella Houck, daughter of George W. Houck and Imogene Pound, was born March 23, 1871 at Crete, Nebraska.

Imogene was born Dec 28, 1851 in Sauk County, Wisconsin, married first George Houck, then a Brown, and died May 23, 1929 at Hale, Colorado. (There's an Immogime Brown in Chaffee County in 1920, 68, born in Wisconsin.

Jacob Houck married Malvina Reed October 7, 1830 in Zanesville, Ohio.

In 1850 Wapello County, Iowa, Jacob Houck is 41, Melvina (probably Melvina Zora Reed Houck) 35, William B. 14, Sarah 12, Harriet 5, and George W. 3.

In 1856 Wapello County, Iowa, Jacob Houck is 46 Ohio, Malvina 49 Maryland, with William 20, Harriett 11, George W. 8, and Laura 1.
In 1860 Wapello County, Jacob is 52, Melvina 45, Harriet 14, George 12, and Laura 5. br>FindaGrave # 79379612 says Juliette (Roper) Pound died March 27, 1851, buried in Sauk County, Wisconsin.
Joel L. Pound is alone in 1857 Steele County, Minnesota, 30, born in New York.
In 1860 Steele County, Minnesota, Imogene Pound is 8, with J.L. Pound 35 and Augusta L. 30. (one tree said she was Augusta Lord).
One tree said that Imogene's mother was Juliette Roper Pound died 1852 in Sauk County, Wisconsin, and that father Joel Pound died March 11, 1863 at age 36, buried in Hastings Minnesota, .
In 1870 Saline County, Nebraska, George "Houch" is 22, Iowa, Immogene 19, Wisconsin. Next household is Wiliam Houch 32, Illinois.

In 1891 Denver, Edwin M. Brown is an agent for Bolton Iron and Steel, and Mrs. Imogene Brown lives on Glenarm.
In 1892 Mrs. Immogene Brown lives at 518 33nd, Denver.
In 1893 Mrs. Immogene Brown lives at 2205 Lincoln - Edwin M. Brown, agent for Canton Steel, lives at 425 Logan.
Immogene is not in the Denver 1895 directory.
In 1914 Colorado Springs, Mrs. Imogene Brown lives at 1211 Park Avenue.
Immogene Brown proved up 320 acres in 28 and 33, 5S 43W in 1919 - joining Myrtie's 1915 claim.
She still owned that land in 1920.
Edwin M. Brown proved up a tract in 17 and 18, 2S 42W, witnesses Albert Forshey, Walter Morrell, Jason Morrell, and Ernest Smith. But that might be a younger Edwin M. Brown, buried in Wray.

In 1921 Colorado Springs, Immogene (wid Edwin) lives at the rear of 1211 W. Bijou.
In 1928 Denver, Mrs. Immogene Brown lives at 1275 Niagara. In 1929 she's at the same address "wid Edwin M."

Philip Harold Buraker married Myrtie L. Houck July 20, 1898, performed by R.E. Sykes, minister of Denver.
1898 Wray "Maynard E. Cooke, druggist, of Burlington, Colorado, and P.H. Buraker, a stockman of the South Fork, were in town Wednesday..." (Probably Maynard isn't related to James)

WILLIAM BURACKER was born on a farm in township 17, range 9, Cass county, Illinois, September 14, 1846. His parents, Philip A., and Jane (Holzman) Buracker, were born, reared and married in Page county, Virginia, and in 1844 came to Illinois, making the journey with a team. They located on the farm on which their son William was born, and there resided six years. They then moved to a farm in range 10, of the same township, where they passed the rest of their lives. The father died May 28, 1891, at the age of sixty-eight years. The mother passed away in 1873. They reared three children, William, Alfred and George. Alfred is deceased. William Buracker was reared and educated, and has passed his life thus far, in his native county. He was brought up on the farm, and has since been engaged in agricultural pursuits. When he attained his majority he commenced farming for himself on his father's land, and in 1870 his father gave him the farm he has since occupied, which is located in section 27, township 17, range 10. In connection with his agricultural pursuits be is also engaged in stock raising. In 1868 Mr. Buracker was united in marriage with Helen C. Heslep, a native of Cass county, and a daughter of Thomas and Catherine Heslep. Mr. and Mrs. Buracker have two children, Philip T. and Katie. Politically, Mr. Buracker has always affiliated with the Democratic party, and is a most efficient member of the same. He was elected a member of the Board of County Commissioners in 1885, and was re-elected in 1888. In this capacity he has always worked for the good of the entire county, ever taking a bold stand in favor of the right.

A telegram has been received announcing the death of Mr. Philip Buracker, of Virginia, Ill., on last Friday. He was a former Virginian and a brother of our townsman, Mr. James M. Buracker. "

Phil Buracker, widowed, age 50, son of Joshua and Susan, married Helen Graves, daughter of J.W. and Mary C., Sept 1, 1874 in Page County, Virginia. More likely "Harry Burracher" in 1880 Cass County, with Philip A. 57 and Helen E. 30. The tree said Helen died January 27, 1888.
Richard Buracker is in Page County, Virginia in 1900, born August 1883 in Virginia living with uncle William P. Graves, Chicago May 3, 1912 "Emma Anderson and Richard Buracker were united in marriage on last Saturday, at the parsonage of the English Lutheran Redeemer church, Princeton avenue and Sixtieth place, the Rev. G. Schuessler officiating."
The tree also said that Richard Buracker 1883-1966 died in Florida, and a son, Richard S. Buracker, awarded a Silver Star, death April 13, 1945, buried in Netherlands American Cemetery.
Richard Buracker, born August 7, 1883, registered for WWI in Chicago, a clerk for the Commonwesalth Edison Company, married to Emma E. Buracker.
He was still working there when he registered for WWII, married to Iva.
Richard Buracker, born to Philip A. Buracker and Helen Graves about 1883, married Virginia S. Brunner, daughter of Albert F. Brunner and Elizabeth Dwyer, in Hamilton County, Ohio July 30, 1925. Richard 61, Iva 52, and young Richard 30 are in Miami in 1945,
Virginia -1898 -1930 is buried in Cincinnati, per # 104590599.
John A Buracker, born 25 Oct 1926 and died 8 Nov 1999 in Charleston Ill. Mr. Buracker died at Prairie View Care Center of Charleston. He is the (half)brother of Richard Standford Buracker.
Harry Buracker graduated in 1895 from the Virginia high school, Cass County, Illinois.

In 1900 Philip H. born July 1876 in Illinois, and Myrtie have been married two years, and they're working for the James E. Cook ranch, with James' aunt Lydia M. French Feb 1830 and cousin Fannie G. Aug 1859, a school teacher.
1914 "An automobile party from the south line of the county were in Wray Monday,. The party consisted of Mr. James Cook, Miss Leontine Scherrer, Mrs. Brubaker and a son of the latter who drove the car. They were here on business connected with real estate titles."

Myrtie proved up a tract in 21, 22, and 28, 5S 43W in 1915. In 1920, she owned not only that, but the adjoining areas - almost ten quarters.

In 1922 Denver, Myrtie H. (Wid Phil H.) lives at 1059 South High.
In 1930 Denver, Myrtie is living at 1438 S. Vine.
Myrtle H. Buraker 1871-1957 # 89383512 is buried in Burlington. and so is husband Phillip H. 1876-1901.
Myrtie H. Buraker is in Denver in 1940, 59, widowed, born in Nebraska. Her grandaughter France L. 15, born in Colorado is living with her.
Harold 1899-1999 is buried in St. John's
"Harold signed a World War I draft registration card in Yuma, Colorado September 12, 1918 giving his date of birth as April 30, 1899. Description: Age 19. Medium height, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair. He worked for himself and his mother as a ranch man. Mother, "Myrtie," was named as his nearest relative. They were living at Hale in Yuma County. Signed: Harold Richard Buraker. In 1900, Harold was age one and living with his parents, Myrtie and Phillip, in Arapahoe County, Colorado. Harold and Clemence are in Hale precinct in 1930, with Frances, 5.
In 1918 G.C. Wooley constructed a store at Hale, and Clemence Buraker, who at the time worked in the store, helped move into the new building..
Harold Richard Buraker and Clemence Roxie Armitage had Frances Luella in Denver October 29, 1924 - Frances married Walter Sneddon and died Nov 29, 2014 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Frances' obituary said she attended school at Hale.

Harold's wife Clemence Armitage Buraker 1900-1992 is also buried in St. John's.
Henry M. Armitage proved up ten acres north of Hale in 1922. Mrs. Katie Armitage was on the District 83 school board in 1918.

Robin Lee Harrison Wed in Stratford To Lieut. Sneddon
Miss Robin Lee Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harrison, 263 Parkway drive, Stratford, was married to Lieut. Malcolm R. Sneddon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Sneddon of Renton, Wash, on Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. in a candlelight ceremony in the First Congregational church. Stratford. The Rev Raymond A. Worster officiated. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory silk crepe fashioned with an Alencon lace bodice, a scalloped neckline, elbow length sleeves and an A-line skirt featuring a chapel train. She also wore a three-tiered veil of silk illusion and carried a colonial bouquet of carnations and pompons. Miss Carol A. Harrison was the maid of honor. Richard W. Harrison, brother of the bride, was best man and David B. Harrison, a brother and Neil Muirhead ushered. After a reception in the Pinecrest Country club, the couple left for Craig Hill, Selma Ala. The bride was graduated from Bunnell high school and Southern Connecticut State college. Lieut Sneddon is an alumnus' of Renton high school and the University of Wyoming. He is attending flight school at Craig AF base in Alabama

Joseph cash-claimed three different tracts in Kit Carson County, two in 1890 and one in 1911. In 1900 Sherman County, Kansas, Joseph, born March 1850 in England, Mary, August 1850 Indiana, have been married 25 years. Jacob Jan 1884, Sarah Feb 1886, Thomas March 1880, and Clara Feb 1891 were all born in Kansas.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Joseph 58 is on his second marrieage, with Marjor7 B. 29, Kansas. Clara 19 is with him. On the same page is thomas, 21, married three years to Rachael 19, with Elbert, 2. Alson on the page is Jacob K. Armitage, 26, living alone.
FindaGrave # 33131166 says he married Marjorie Belle (Cochran) in 1908, who died in Colorado Springs in 1970. J.B. Armitage was a Kit Carson County commissioner in 1911.

Bessie Jane Hainey, born in Guthrie City Iowa August 8, 1878 to Joseph B. Armitage and Catherine Miller, died in Austin Texas March 11, 1971, informant Miss Esta Hainey # 33280996.
In 1900 Stillwater, Oklahoma, Henry born Dec 1875 has been married five months to Katy I. May 1883.

In 1910 Yuma County, Henry M. Armitage is 34, Iowa, married ten years to Katie 25 Kansas. Clemence R. 9, Oklahoma, Ethel L. 8, William H. 7, Leroy I. 4, Merle 3, and one-month Alice were born in Colorado.
Henry proved up a quarter in Kit Carson County in 1913, another in 1914.
