Jacob Swihart, Lansing

Jacob timber-claimed a quarter in 22, 3S 43W in 1895.
He might be the J.L. Swihart born July 1860, an engineer in Wabash County, Indiana, married 15 years to Ida M. Dec 1857, with Allen April 1889, all born in Indiana.
This Jacob died in 1943 in Wabash County

Another, more likely, is the one in Richardson County, Nebraska
In 1889 J.S. Swihart of Stella, Nebraska sold a Poland China hog to A.S. Brenniger of Lansing, Colorado.





In 1880 Richardson County, Jacob is 37, "Rebbecca" 38, with Ira M. 13, Iola M. 11, George 9, John W. 7, Clarence 4, Harvey C. 2, and Eldora two months. Brother John, 35 is also with them.

Winkler and their kids, all four born in Oklahoma. 1906 Falls City "Nellie Swihart left here last week for Billings, Montana, where she was married to Norman Shrauger. Nellie is the daughter of Jacob Swihart and wife. Norman was formerly located here as a barber."

Nebraska. Clarence 1897-1957 is buried in Golden Gate, San Mateo County, California # 74115444.

1903 "Fred Swihart of Richardson County Nebr has filed on a piece of government land near Lansing, and expects to make a home for himself there."

In 1916 Clarence P. Swihart was an heir to the estate of Isaac N. Potter.
Mary Ellen Potter buried in Richardson County Nebraska # 102118749 "Daughter of Thomas Potter and Temperance West. She was the wife of G. W. Rogers who died in Yuma County Colorado. Her second husband was Fred W. Swihart "
