Willie H. and Ruth (Greenfield) Shepherd, Lansing

In 1900, Samuel, a day laborer, and Ella Shepherd are in Pawnee County, Kansas, with Thomas, Guy, Edith, Ida, Carrie, Lola, and Mabel.
In 1910 Torrance County, New Mexico, Samuel A. Shepherd is a laborer at a box factory, 57 Illinois, married 21 years to Mollie A. 47 Indiana, have Clarence 20, Mabel R. 13, and Willie M. 9, all three born in Kansas.
William SEXTON is also in the 1910 census of Saline County, Nebraska, nephew of George and Grace L. Shepherd.
In 1915 Reno County, Kansas, Ellie Shepherd is 44, M.H. 22, Alice 18, N.H 16, W.H. 14, C E. 12, J.M. 10, J.C, 7, and Daisy Pearl 5.
When Clarence Austin Shepherd registered in Nara Visa, New Mexico, he said he was born January 20, 1890 at Osowomitie, Kansas.
Willie Shepherd married Ruth Greenfield Feb 18, 1920, recorded in Yuma County. Ruth, born to M.W. and Mary Greenfield in London, arrived 1907 in New York with her mother and four siblings, to meet M.W. in Oklahoma City.
In 1920 Lansing precinct, Willie H., 18, and Ruth Shepherd, 21, are farming. Willie was born in Kansas, Ruth in England - immigrating in 1907.
. Also in Lansing precinct, George S. Shepherd is 38, Grace, 35, both Missouri, with Alice 9 born in Arkansas. The household preceding is Leo Greenfield 23, born in England, with Goldie 25, born in Colorado, Mary 3, William H. 2, and Edward six months, all born in Colorado. Leo Greenfield and Goldie Smith had married Sept 19, 1915, recorded in Yuma County.
Leo and Goldie E. Greenfield divorced in Morgan County in 1935, and Leo married Margaret L. Cox Jun 11, 1936, recorded in Larimer County.

Willie proved up a quarter in 4, 3S 43W in 1926. That land was occupied by Leb Greenfield in 1920. 
In 1930 Wm. H and Ruth are farming, with Ben H. 8, Leonard W. 5, Delbert C. 3, and John H. 1.
In 1940 Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, William is working in a cutting room at a glass plant. They have Ben, Leonard, John , and now Wilma Ruth 9, Colorado and Margaret A. 7, born in Oklahoma.

Samuel Dirk Shepherd, 1853-1929 and Ella Mary (Lytle) Shepherd 1866-1946 are buried in Pawnee County # 94245056. George S. Shepherd 1881-1964 is buried in Westminster, California # 60776044.
"Wilma Ruth Ingram a resident of Henryetta passed away on March 29, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 80. Born November 30, 1930 in Idalia, CO to Willie and Ruth (Greenfield) Shepherd. Wilma married R.E. Ingram on Oct 14, 1949 in Henryetta and worked as a telephone operator until her retirement. She was a member of the Apostolic House of Prayer. Her parents preceded her in death, husband RE Ingram, 4 brothers: Ben, Leonard, John and Delbert Shepherd and nephews: Jerry, Richard and Billy Shepherd. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Scott Randall officiating. Services under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home. "

PPG EMPLOYEE GUNSHOT VICTIM. HAD BEEN IN FAILING HEALTH.
The gunshot death of a longtime Pittsburgh Plate Glass employee Thursday was declared self-inflicted by Assistant County Attorney F. C. Helm..
Funeral services are pending for W. H. Shepherd, 58, who died at his home southwest of Henryetta Thursday morning.. Helm said he died of a wound from a .22 caliber rifle which was found by his side.. Deputy Sheriff Dan Shepard conducted the investigation.. The county prosecutor said relatives told him the victim had been in ill health for some time and had been despondent.. He was found by his son, Ben Shepherd, who was doing chores around the place and had returned to check on his father.. Mrs Shepherd, the deceased's wife, was in town washing at the time, Helm reported.. Other survivors here include two sons, Leonard and John and a daughter, Mrs Wilma Ingram. Another daughter, Margarette, lives in Tulsa.. The deceased, who was born in Kansas in 1900, had been employed at PPG since 1933.. Additional survivors include a sister, Mrs Alice Hanson, Artesia, California, his father, George Shepherd, Hartshorne, California, and 10 grandchildren. .

Funeral services for W. H. Shepherd will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Vernon Wheeler officiating.. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery.. Active pallbearers will be Jim Eastman, Sr., Bob Garbart, Clyde Whippo, John Cox, George Redick, Delmer Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Hobbs, A. F. Gold, E. E. Richardson, Charles Graham, Jim Kimble and Walter Lenox..
