Ambrose N. and Rose Haymart

, Lansing
Nicholas A. Haymart, 27, and Rose M. Matern, 23, married in Hancock County, Illinois April 11, 1880.
In the 1880 census of Hancock County, "Andrew" is 27, farming, Rose 23, born in Missouri. In the same household is Henry Brenner 52, Charlotte A. 61, with Ida M. 19, and seven other farm laborers.
Ambrose Haymart and Rosa Mattern had a daughter in Sonora, Hancock County, Illinois March 6, 1881, and another daughter there Feb 27, 1884.
Ambrose Haymart is in the 1885 agricultural census of Hamilton County, Nebraska, with seven acres of pasture, 70-some acres of tilled ground, and two horses.
Stanley Ben Haymart, when he registered in Giltner, Nebraska, said he was born Dec 15, 1889 at "Ray" Colorado.

Ambrose proved up a quarter in 12, 3S 43W in 1894.  In 1900 Hamilton County, Nebraska, Ambrose born Oct 1852 in France, married twenty years to Rose Oct 1856 Missouri, have Maude June 1885 Nebraska, Edmond Nov 1887 Colorado, Stanley Dec 1889 Colorado, Lillie June 1899 Nebraska, and Samuel June 1889 Nebraska.

Laurel Charley Haymart registered in Giltner, born June 24, 1899, farming for himself, nearest relative Mrs. Rose Mary Haymart of Giltner.
In 1903 Ambrose V. Haymart filed a notice for a timber claim in the sw of 32, 2S 42W, witnesses Fred Soehner, Frank A. Greatsinger, Milton Morris and Armour S. Breninger, all of Lansing Colorado. That claim was completed in 1904.
Ambrose owned the 3S 43W quarter in 1922, but the 2S 42W quarter was owned by C.W. Morris
Ambrose 1852-1909 and Rose Mary (Mattern) Haymart 1856-1932 are buried in Phillips, Nebraska (Hamilton County).
1913 Armel items "Adolph Soehner and Ed Haymart were in Armel last Sunday."
In 1920 Hamilton County, Stanley is 29, single, and his sister Maud Minnie Haymart, 34 is living with him.
Rose is widowed, 52, and son Laurel and daughter Ida Lily, both 20, are with her.
Edmund O. Haymart 1887-1922, is buried in Hamilton County, # 80269549.
In 1940 Hamilton County, Maude is living alone, a rug weaver, and the next line is Laurel. He's a farm laborer, single, 40, born in Nebraska, and was in Merrick County, Nebraska in 1935.

Maratha Edna Haymart, 84, of Aurora died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Giltner. The Rev. Nora Mendyk will officiate. Burial will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.
Mrs. Haymart was born Nov. 27, 1919, on a farm south of Utica to Harrison and Ethel (Deidel) Dickey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Laurel "Chief" Haymart, on Jan. 25, 1985.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Dawn Haymart of Aurora, and a sister, Elsie Sullivan. Other survivors include a granddaughter, Taylor Haymart of Aurora; a grandson, Clay Haymart of Aurora; and a sister-in-law, Madge Haymart. She grew up south of Utica and graduated from Waco High School in 1937. Edna lived in Waco for several years.
Edna was united in marriage to Charles Laurel "Chief" Haymart on April 20, 1940, at Central City. They lived in the York and Seward area before moving to Hastings in 1952. In 1958 they moved to Giltner, where Edna ran Edna's Cafe. They moved to Aurora in 1970. Edna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Giltner. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Walter, Ray, Orville and Lawrence Dickey; and a sister, Dorothy Nicholaus. Per #9431838, Charles Laurel "Chief" Haymart is buried in Hamilton County. A history of Giltner refers to " Chief - A Collection of Early Giltner Stories , 1984, L.C.Haymart" - a 54-page booklet.
May 5,1940 "Announcements have been received in Utica of the marriage of Miss Edna Dickey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Dickey of Giltner, formerly of Utica, to Laurel Haymart of Giltner. The wedding took place at Central City on April 20. The couple will make their home on a farm near Giltner.

Madge Alice Haymart was born in Giltner, Neb., Nov. 25, 1902 to Ethan and Bertha (Kingston.) She grew up in Giltner and attended Giltner schools where she graduated in 1921. Madge then taught school and later was employed by a local telephone office and the Giltner State Bank.
She married Stanley Haymart on Oct. 26, 1930. Following their marriage, they lived in various towns in Nebraska and Kansas where her husbands work took them, until they returned to Giltner following Stanleys retirement. Survivors include Eleanore (Gordon) Kasch of Minden, Iowa; niece Verla (Arnold) Rosenau of Phoenix, Ariz.; nephews Wilbur (Erma) Parks of Hastings and Don (Dawn) Haymart of Aurora; great nieces and one great nephew.
Stanley, per # 71088461, is buried in Giltner, Nebraska 1889-1960.

Maude M. Haymart 1885-1955, # 82371660 is buried in Giltner.
One tree said Ida Lillie married Tillman Parks, and their son Wilbur Duane Parks 1930-2008 died in a Hastings, Nebraska hospital.
