John E. and Lula (Richardson) Harder, Lansing

In 1896 Henryville, Indiana, Pearl Richardson had perfect attendance in grammar school.
In 1900 Clark County, Indiana, Henry Richardson Nov 1854 in Indiana, married 20 years to Maggie Oct 1856, Kentucky. They have Pearl Oct 1881, Edith Feb 1884, Gertrude March 1885, Mary April 1886, Angela Feb 1890, Peter June 1892, LULU Feb 1894, Bertha June 1897, and Bessie June 1897 - all kids born in Indiana.
Still in Clark County in 1910, they have Gertrude 25, Angela 19, Peter 17, Lulu 15, Bertha and Bessie 12.

In Jasper Indiana court 1895 Louis Harder pleaded guilty to drunk - fine $3.
1904 Jasper - John Harder was charged with hunting on Sunday.
In 1910 Knox County, Indiana, John E. Harder is 17, with parents Louis and Maggie, both 41. George R. is 11, Lythia 7, Gus 6, and Sophia 3.
John Edward Harder registered with a Wray address, born January 17, 1893 at Dubois, Indiana, a Seventh Day Adventist, with a wife and child.
In 1920 Lansing Precinct, John is 26, with Lulu P. 26, also born in Indiana. James L. 3, and Margrette, 1 were born in Colorado. Elizabeth J. Richardson, 7, born in Indiana, is a sister-in-law.

John proved up 320 acres in 4 and 5, 3S 43W in 1921, and another 360 acres "Stock" in 1924. 
In 1930, all four are back in Indianapolis, where John is a water sander in an automobile factory.
In 1940, John is working for a rubber factory, and only James, a grocery manager, is with them.
John registered for WWII, living in Indianapolis, working for the U.S. Rubber Products.
Lula Pearl Harder -1893-1984 is buried in Indianapolis # 113783275.


Margaret Esther "Peg" Bol, 90, Lebanon, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. Mrs. Bol was born in Wray, Colo., on Oct. 10, 1918. She was the daughter of the late John Edward and Lula Pearl (Richardson) Harder. On Dec. 5, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana she married Raymond Egbert Bol. Mr. Bol died on Dec. 18, 1991. Margaret moved from Colorado to Indianapolis as a young girl. She moved to Lebanon from Indianapolis in 1948. Prior to her marriage she worked at Real Silk Hosiery Mill in Indianapolis. In 1965, she began working for Commercial Filters in Lebanon and retired in 1980. Through the years she also helped her husband on the family farm west of Lebanon. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed handcrafts and visiting with her friends and neighbors. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Lebanon. Survivors include sons Steven R. Bol of Bremo Bluff, Va., and Mikel R. (wife Marcia) Bol of Zeeland, Mich.; grandchildren Jennifer C. (husband Richard) of Orlando, and Jakob M. Bol of Charlottesville, Va.; and great-grandson Tyler Baker of Orlando. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Louis Harder. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at Myers Chapel of Memories; Pastor Traci Matherly officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

John's brother George W. Harder 1904-1974 married Essie Mae Kerns 1903-1965, and they're buried in Martin County, Indiana # 94238308.
Raymond George Harder, born April 9, 1899 to Louis Harder and Margaret Huffman, married Effie Bivens, born Sept 25, 1902, in Vigo Indiana January 20, 1923.
Sophia M. Harder, born July 21, 1906, married William T. Waters in Sullivan County Indiana, June 6, 1925. She said she was a cigar maker, and that her father Louis was a laborer in Vincinnes, and mother a housekeeper in Vincinnes.
In 1930 William and Sophia are in Indianapolis, no kids.

Funeral services were held in Louisville. She was 62 years of age and was widely known here. Her many friends of this vicinity were sorry to hear of her death. She leaves "

In 1930 Scott County, Indiana, Wiliam L. Taylor is 47, Pearl 48, with William H. 21, Philip 19, Melvin 17, Catherine 15, Edit 13, Gladys 10, and Lincoln 7.
Pearl Richardson and Wm. L. Taylor's daughter Pearl, born at Henryville July 27, 1910, married Philip E. Taylor in 1932 in Clark County Indiana.
