David James Anderson Jr., 60, of 18 Sixteenth street died Sunday at the Veterans' Administration Hospital, Denver. He had been a patient there at various times since February. Anderson was a mechanic in the Weld county shops. Born April 25, 1895 at Fort Dodge Iowa, he had been a resident of Weld county since 1928. Anderson was a veteran of World War 1. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Silver C. Anderson; his mother, Mrs. Mattie Anderson of Wray ; . two brothers f Joseph G. Anderson of Denver and Harold Anderson of Twin Falls, Idaho; and two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Ann Richards of Burlington and Mrs. Jennie Gerber of Idalia. A son, Marvin Dwayne Anderson, was lost at sea when his ship sank in November 1943. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from Macy's drawing room, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

July 1956, Greeley Colorado "Silver C. Anderson and Benard G. Swanson were united in marriage Saturday afternoon at 4 o.'clock in the beautiful Memorial chapel of the first Covenant church. The double ring service was performed by the Rev. C. Cecil Oslorberg. Mrs. Don V. Lindstrom, eldest daughter of the groom, was wedding pianist and accompanied her sister, Miss Vivian Swanson. who sang I'll Walk Beside You preceding the ceremony. The traditional wedding marches were used, with soft, sacred music , being played throughout the service. A mixed quartet, composed of Mr. and Mrs. Don W. Lindstrom and Miss Vivian Swanson and her fiance, Herb Becker, sang the prayer hymn, O Perfect Love, at the conclusion of the vows. A beautiful arrangement of pink, white, and crimson gladiolus adorned the table placed in front of the impressive stained glass windows in the Memorial chapel. The bride was smartly attired in a tailored Sacony suit of melon color. She wore a small white lace and blouse and black palent leather accessories. She carried a lovely old-style lace handkerchief, loaned by Mrs. Henry Bunting. longtime friend of the bride. Her wedding corsage was a large white orchid. The bride's only jewelry was a rhinestone necklace and earrings, given her as a gift from the groom. She wore the traditional blue garter. Mrs. Carl W. Lindslrom, friend of the bridal couple for many years, was matron of honor. She wore a beige linen sheath dress with pink accessories. Her corsage was a large crimson glamelia. Reuben Swanson, brother of the groom, served as best man. Only the immediate family and a few close friends attended the service. Besides those who took part in the ceremony, present were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bunting. Mrs. Reuben Swanson, Mrs. C. Cecil Osterberg. Carl Lindstrom and Etdon Lindstrom. The bride and groom are on a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills. After two weeks, they will be at home at 1314 Cranford, the home of Mr. Swanson. The bride was born at Vernon and has lived in Greeley since 1928. Her only child, Marvin Dwayne, was lost at sea during World War II . Swanson was reared in the Pleasant Valley dislrict, four miles northeast of Greeley, where he farmed his own place for many years until moving to Greeley in the fall of 1952. Since then he has worked at Noffsinger Manufacturing company and is presently employed at the Weld county courthouse. He has been an active member of the First Covenant church since its beginning. Swanson has two daughters Mrs. Lindstrom, who resides at 1818 Seventh street, and Vivia Swanson, at home. She will be a fall bride. He also has three grand children; Eldon, Cynthia and Cathryn Lindstrom.

(Frieda) Johnson of Pasadena, California and Reuben Swanson of Greeley. Services 2:00 p.m. Monday from the First Covenant Church. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery. Silver Colorado Manion, 99, of Greeley died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit where she had been for two weeks. She had been a resident of The Bridge Assisted Living at Life Care Center of Greeley for the last four years.
She was born July 23, 1904, in Vernon to Joseph B. and Katherine (Keller) Greene. She was raised in the Vernon area.
On April 2, 1921, she married Dave Anderson. They had one son, Dwayne. In 1928, the family moved to Greeley where she worked in food services at Allen Cross kitchen on the Colorado State College of Education Campus from 1947-55. Shortly after his Greeley High graduation, her son, Dwayne, was lost at sea abroad the USS Liscome Bay. She then developed lifelong friendships with his Greeley High friends. After her husband died, she married Bernard Swanson on July 28, 1956. He later died, and she married Chet Manion on March 21, 1979. He later died.
Mrs. Manion was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Greeley until its closing. She was active in the choir and with Covenant Women. She also attended the Eaton First Baptist Church. In recent years, she attended the First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing with the Singspiration choir and attending the Triad class. In her earlier years she also enjoyed traveling. She blessed family and friends with her beautiful and loving Christian spirit.
Survivors are two stepdaughters, Delores Lindstrom and her husband Don of Greeley, Vivian Becker and her husband Herb of Estes Park; four stepgranddaughters, Cynthia Johnson of Greeley, Cathryn Gentry of Fort Collins, Cheryn Wulf and husband Robert of Pewaukee, Wis., and Jill Belleau and her husband Todd of Brighton; two stepgrandsons, Jay Becker and his wife Debbie of Severance, and Eldon Lindstrom and his wife Alice of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren and one stepgreat-great-granddaughter. Two sisters, Hannah Soper and Josie McCoy, and three brothers, John, George and Edwin Greene, are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley.
