Yuma County Pioneer Photographs:

John and Sarah E. Kelly, Landsman.

In 1880 Ringgold County, Iowa John Kelly is 32, Sarah E. 23, and Thomas A. is 2 - all born in Ohio.

Nora Gustia Kelly was born Aug 17, 1880 in Ringgold County, Iowa.

John B. Kelly cash-claimed a quarter in section 17, 2S 46W in 1891, so it's likely it's the same one.

Next to John, Martin D. Kelly cash-claimed a quarter in section 21, also in 1891.

John Kelly was appointed the Logan postmaster May 16, 1895, until January 30, 1900.

In the Lucas cemetery is a stone "John Kelly - Nov 6 1847 - Sept 8, 1899"  So that matches the 1880 census.

1901 teachers included Miss Gusta Kelley and Mr. Thomas Kelley, both of Idalia.  In 1900 Lansing Sarah E. Kelley Feb 1857 Ohio, widowed, has son Thomas A. Dec 1877 Ohio and Nora G. Aug 1880 Iowa

1902 "Thos Kelley of Logan, accompanied by his mother and sister, departed from Wray last Friday night, for Edgar, Nebraska, where they intend to make their future home."

Thomas A. KELLY was appointed postmaster 5 May 1914 for Republican City, and held that post for nine years.
