John and Elizabeth Aeschliman, Landsman.

John proved up a quarter in 1, 5S 44W in 1894

In 1900 Idalia John Ashlemann born October 1859, has been married 18 years to Lizzie, July 1851, both Switzerland, both arriving 1883.They have Earnest July 1885, John Feb 1887, both Kansas, Albert Aug 1889, and Carl July 1892, both Colorado.

An Elizabeth Aeschlimann died in Denver Dec 22, 1907.

John Rudolf Ashleman registered in Seligman Arizona, saying he was born in Bern Kansas, Feb 18, 1887, and was an electrical engineer for the A T & S F RR. Co., single.  

John R. Ashleman married Helen Gordon in Colorado Sep 15, 1918.

 In 1920 he's in Denver, married to Helen G. 30.  They're in Denver in 1930 and 1940 - in 1940 John is a stationary engineer at Denver Dry - probably ran the steam boilers for the department store.

Ernest, per one tree, married Ella Nickelson in 1905, and died May 4, 1957 in Wichita.

In 1920 Wichita Ernest is 34, a truck driver, Ella 48 is a chiropractor. In 1930 Wichita Ernest is 45, Sarah E. 59. In 1940 Wichita Ernest is 54, "Sarha"  Ella 68.

Chas. Ashliman was paid $31.50 in 1913 for road work.  He married Octa C. Taylor Sept 11, 1913.

In 1900 Lansing Richard B. Taylor, born Sept 1862 in Kansas has been married 14 years to Clara B. May 1871 Illinois.  They've lost three kids, but have Alma B. July 1890, Octa C. Jan 1895, Martha J. Sept 1899, all Colorado.

Brother of Mrs. Lillian Mansfield, Wray, Colo.. and Mrs. Lizze Snrad of Ridgefield, Wash. .Services 2:30 Thursday from Idalia German Lutheran Church. Interment Idalia. To lie in state 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Smith Bros, drawing room.

In 1920 Idalia "Ray" is 27, Octa 25, Violet 5, Dorcas 2, and Ronald two months.  Earl Smith 26, born in Kansas, divorced, is with them.

Carl G. Ashliman of Newton was among those called in 1918.
In 1930 Carl G. 37 and Octa C. 35 in Idalia have Elsie V. 16, Doris E. 13, Ronald C. 10, Vera H. 7, Orville L. 4, Ellis R. 3, and Ervin R. 1.

Three of their kids are at the Idalia School in 1934.

Octa Capitolia (Taylor) Jan 10, 1895 born in Kit Carson County, died October 1963 is buried in Limon, on the stone with Carl Gottried Ashliman, born in Yuma County July 25, 1893, died in Simla Nov 25, 1966.

October 11, 1963 Services for Mrs. Octa Captolia Ashliman, 68, of Limon, who died Wednesday at Weld County General Hospital of injuries suffered in a car-truck collision Sept. 21 at Prospect Valley, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Limon. Interment will follow at the Limon Cemetery. Adamson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mrs,  Ashliman was born Jan. 10, 1895, at Newton, and spent her childhood on a farm in Yuma County. She had lived in Idalia and Limon the past several years. lie was married to Carl G. Ashliman Sept. 13, 1913, at Burlington. Survivors, in addition to her husband include seven children, Mrs. Elsie Brenner of Idalia, Mrs. Doris E. Quiggle of Twin Falls, Idaho, Ronald Ashliman of Greeley, Mrs. Vera Robertson of Simla, Orval Ashliman of Craig, ancd Sills and Irvin Ashliman, both of Denver; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Hill of Greeley and Mrs. Martha 1. Smith of Burlington; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grand-children

Orval Lee "Red" Ashliman died in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born July 21, 1924, in Idalia, Colorado, son of Carl G. Ashliman and Octa C. Taylor Ashliman.

He graduated from high school in Limon, Colorado, in 1942, and was drafted into the army in World War II. He was a Sergeant Company A, 81st Tank Battalion. He was Honorably Discharged on October 15, 1945 at Ft. Logan, Colorado.

Red worked at the Foster Lumber Company in Limon, Colorado, after his discharge from the service. He ended up with that company in Edgemont, South Dakota, and later went to work in the bank there and attended Colorado School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado, for three years.

In 1958, Red and his family moved to Craig, Colorado, and he worked at the Moffat County State Bank. It changed hands a few times, but he retired from that bank in September, 1984.

During his retirement, he was a stock broker for 20 years. Red was a member of the Edgemont Lions Club in Edgemont, South Dakota, for nine years and a member of the Cedar Mountain Lions Club in Craig, Colorado, until he died.

He was on the State Board of the 4-H Foundation for 21 to 25 years and was Treasurer of the 4-H Foundation in Craig, Colorado, for all of those years. He served a term on the City Council and a term on the School Board in Craig. He belonged to the Yampa Valley Golf Association for years.

Red is survived by his wife, Doris F. Poen Ashliman, who he married on December 4, 1949. They had 59 years together. He also is survived by three children - Randell Kent Ashliman, Debbie Ashliman Schram, and Donna Lynn Ashliman, 12 grand children, 24 great grand children, and one brother, Irvin Ashliman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Red will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.

Memorial contributions can be made to the First Congregational Church, 630 Green Street, Craig, Colorado, 81626. Funeral services will be at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel located at 3825 Airport Road.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.

ELLIS ``CY'' ASHLIMAN, 71, of Denver died Feb. 17. Services were Feb. 22, with burial at Hampden Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ashliman was born in Idalia on March 7, 1927. He married Doris L. Steele, 1947. He was a retired engineer from the Denver Fire Department. Survivors include his wife; son Monty of Hudson; daughter Jeanne Thompson of Littleton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
