Charles Seigel


Charles cash-claimed 160 acres in sections 4, 5, and 9, 1N 42W in 1882 - about two miles east of Laird. His claim took up a mile of the Republican River.

He might be the one in 1870 Douglas County, Colorado, born about 1840 in Switzerland. He's a farm laborer for Frank Blanchman 45 a farmer. Another farm hand is John Edinger, 27.

In August 1880, Charles Seigel was employed by Mr. W. J. Grow of Silverton, Colorado, and accidently shot and killed a Robert Anderson.

In July 12, 1862 Nebraska City, the Vogt and Seigel store was mentioned in a story about a fire.
