but had forgotten the fact until a company of friends and neighbors arrived to remind her that Time waits —not even for woman. Mrs. Pike proved equal to the occasion and as soon as she recovered from the surprise."
October 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Pike, who for many years have made
their home seven miles north of Laird, and who sold their home there about
a month ago, left Sunday evening for Kansas City, Missouri, where they go
for an extended visit with the former's nephew. They will then visit
relatives and friends in Iowa, Marysville, Missouri, and
then are planning on going to Oklahoma. After spending some time there
, they are talking of going on to California. Before leaving this
vicinity they spent several days with their friends, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Ashton and Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Rose. Mr. and Mrs. Pike intend
to return to Laird in the spring and will build on their quarter
section south of that place."

Mrs. Jackson was born May 5, 1905, at Barnard, the daughter of the late James L. and Mollie Ross Davison. She was married March 5,1926, at Barnard, to Edgar Jackson, who survives. She was a member of the Salem Christian Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Donald and Doyle Jackson, both of Barnard; one daughter, Mrs. Kay McGee, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Spoor, Maryville, and Mrs. Pearl Yeisley, Coin, Iowa, and three grandsons. Two children preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Price Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry B. Spear will officiate. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, near Barnard. The family will meet friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home."
