In 1870 La Salle County, Illinois, Allen C. McLaughlin is a blacksmith 40 (this might be wrong - other census dates show an 1840 birth),
with Mary 35, Ernest 5, Hattie 3, Edward 2, and "Almore" two months.
One tree said Almond had married Catherine Barrh in 1857, married Maria Wells about 1864,
that Maria Wells died about 1873, and that he married Maria Charlton about 1881. This tree said Emma Maria Charlton died June 6, 1891 in Gettysburg, South Dakota.

January 1903 Wray "Ed McLaughlin has his new engine and corn sheller in working ordor."
December 1906 "Ed. McLaughlin is having a new dwelling erected on his farm east of town about
two miles. Wallace Grant began work on the same Tuesday."
September 27, 1907 "Mrs. Ed. McLaughlin died Tuesday evening at her home about two miles east
of town., She had not been well all summer and a complication of dropsy and pneumonia was the cause.
A husband and one son eight years of age are left to mourn the loss of a wife and mother.
The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church and were conducted
by the pastor, C. S. Leonard. The remains were laid to rest in Grand View cemetery."
August 1908 "Ed McLaughlin returned Sunday from Oxford,
Nebraska, and expects to go to Brush in a few days where he hopes to secure employment."
February 1913 "Ed McLaughlin, a brother of Mrs. Joe Keenan, arrived in Wray, Tuesday from
Scotts Bluffs, Nebr., for a visit with friends and relatives. Ed is an old Yuma county resident.
He has been away for about three years."
In 1920 Scotts Bluff County, Edward is farming, 51, born in Illinois,
with Wannie 34 born in Kentucky. Dora H. 6, Emery 4, and Agnes 2 were born in Nebraska.
July 1927 Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. McLaughlin of Kelso, Washington, and Edward R. McLaughlin of Morril, Neb., are in Wray this week visiting their sister, Mrs. Joe Keenan and family."
March 31, 1938 " Ed McLaughlin, one time resident of Wray, is visting here this week. Mr. McLaughlin was called to Wray by the death of his brother-in-law, Joe Keenan."
September 1940 "Mr. Almond McLaughlin went to Morrill, Nebr. last week to visit his brother, Ed McLaughlin. "
June 1943 "Among the out-of-town people who were called to Wray by the death of Mrs. Harriett Keenan were Ralph Keenan and family of Denver, Miss Betty Keenan of Denver, Ed McLaughlin of Limon, Nebraska, and the Earl Foster family of North Platte, Nebraska."
May 1946 "The Rattler family recently received a letter from Mrs. Lyle Schafer.
Mr. and Mrs. Schafer are making their home at Los Gatos, Calif., and Mrs. Schafer writes in part:
We went to the opening day at Bay Meadows Horse Races but it was a flop. You see 12 women would not
give up their work. It was also picketed. We took a picnic dinner. Ernest’s went with us so we spent
the day. We saw the Moffit Field airport where Ernest worked for two months after he came home,
so he told us lots we would not have known.
We passed the place where California was first settled, an old stage coach which was 160 years old.
From there we went to San Mateo. It is a beautiful place. We had a birthday dinner for Ernest and his
youngest boy who is two years old.
We invited uncle Ed McLaughlin and Aunt Nancy. He is a
great-great uncle to John and Jerry. We were invited over to A. V. Short's to a lovely chicken dinner.
Betty was getting ready to go by plane to Denver to her home."
THURSDAY JUNE 17, 1943 WRAY GAZETTE
Mrs. Harriett F. Keenan, a long time and widely known resident
of this community, died Friday at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Hazel Schafer, in Wray at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 14 days.
She had been ill but a short time, following a light stroke,
and her death was unexpected. Funeral services were held at
the Hitchcock Mortuary Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev.
William Brown and Burial was at Grandview Cemetery.
Harriett F. McLaughlin was the daughter of
Almond C. and Marie McLaughlin, and was born on August 27, 1866
in Dimmick, LaSalle County, Illinois. On June 22, 1891 she was
married to Joseph S. Keenan at Ottawa, Illinois.
Five children were born to this union -
Grant, Hazel Schafer and Josephine Hesse of Wray,
Ralph of Denver and Thomas, who with the husband and father,
preceded her in death. Other survivors include three brothers,
Ernest, Allie and Edward McLaughlin and one sister,
Mrs. Nell Adkins.
In 1940 Scotts Bluff County, Nannie 52 and Edward R. McLaughlin 72 are living iwith her son Ernest F. Mcqueen 33 and James E. McQueen 7.
Edward R. McLaughln 1868-1955 is buried in Santa Cruz, California # 204876351.

Nannie C. McLaughlin, 68, a native of Virginia and a resident of Santa Cruz since 1944, died yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness. Her home was at 144 Wilkes circle. She attended schools in Virginia and married the late Edward R. McLaughlin, who died in May, 1955, in Nebraska where their children were raised.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Treffry and Mrs. Dora Urbani of Santa Cruz, Rowena Rogue and Grace Phagan of Nebraska; two sons, Emery McLaughlin of Seaside, Calif., and Ernest McQueen of Nebraska; three sisters, Mrs. Octavia Schultz and Mrs. Dora Stewart, both of Nebraska, and Mrs. Oma Slurdivant of Oregon; two brothers, Owen Baumgardner of Oregon and Frank Baumgardner of Nebraska, and 17 grandchildren. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge of Morrill, Nebr., the Grandmothers club and the Oldsters club of Santa Cruz, and the Garfield Park Christian church.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p. m.. Rev. Thomas D. Ewing officiating, in White's chapel with interment following in the Oakwood cemetery.

Emery died in San Francisco on July 31, 1982.

in Jefferson County, Illinois, married (1) Maria Wells; married (2) Kate Barrh, said to reside in Gettysburg, Dakota."
Almond McLaughlin married Ruth Heide February 5, 1894 in La Salle County.
In 1900 La Salle County, Illinois, Almond born May 1870 in Illinois, is married to Rosa August 1867 Illinois, with Hazel May Oct 1890 Illinois. They're with Rosa's mother Rosine Heide Sept 1833 Germany and her son John 1873 Illinois.
Almond and Rose are in Whiteside County, Illinois in 1920, with Ivy 15, Leroy 8, and Ralph 2.
Rosa, born Aug 22, 1857, died January 3, 1925 in Sterling, Whiteside County, Illinois, a day laborer.
Almond and Raymond are in Laird precinct, Yuma County, in 1935 and 1940,
Almond C. McLaughlin 1868-1945 is buried in Wray # 14531441, with son Raymond a farm laborer, R. 1906-1994.
"Almond Cecil McLaughlin was born Oct. 8, 1868 in Mindota, I11. Most of his life was spent
in the vicinities of Troy Grove and Sterling, I11. While in Troy Grove, as a young man,
he married Rose Hidey. To this union four children were born,
Ivy McLaughlin and Mrs. Ralph Mayberry of Sterling, I11., Raymond H. McLaughlin of Wray, Colo.,
and Leßoy McLaughlin, who with the mother preceded the father and husband in death.
Mr. McLauglin and his son Raymond came to Colorado over 20 years ago and have resided
here since that time. Mr. McLaughlin confessed his faith in Christ as his personal Saviour
about a year ago. He associated himself with the Assembly of God church of Wray.
Funeral services were held at the Lockwood mortuary Sunday, Sept. 2,
conducted by Rev. Palmer. Interment was at Grandview cemetery."
