January 2, 1912 "H. F. Hadley was up from Laird last Friday, business bringing him here."
February 27, 1913 "H. F. Hadley visited with his mother, Mrs. Grace Hadley of near Laird the
last few days of last week. He lives in Sheridan, Wyoming."
November 1917 "Mrs. Grace Headley is enjoying a visit with her daughters,
Mrs. Anderson of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Young of Kansas.
Grace E. (Shearer) Headley 1853-1918 is buried in Custer County, with James P. 1853-1916.
1903 Custer County, Nebraska "Mrs. J. P. Headley is visiting her father and sister near Laird, Colorado."

January 9, 1903 "Mrs. Miller and Mr. Peck of
Creston, Iowa, were here a few days to visit their
Grandpa Davis Shearer, who is here from Grantsdale,
Montana, visiting relatives."
Davis proved up a quarter in 6, 2N 42W in 1908.
Davis Shearer is in Laird precinct in 1910, 81, with daughter Susan M. McGinnis 54 and her husband William E. 66.
February 12, 1914
July 9, 1914 "A neighborhood picnic was held at the
lovely ranch of Geo. Drom
mond last Sunday at which
twenty members of the McGinnis and Drommond families
were present and some neighbors besides.
Four generations were represented, with Grandpa Shearer
as the patriarch."
January 27, 1916 "Grandfather Shearer has been
quite ill at his daughter's, Mrs. Will McGinnis,
at Laird. He is at present slightly improved.
Jas. Shearer, of Iowa, a son was called last week to
his bedside."
November 9, 1916 Wray Rattler
"The death of David Shearer of Laird occurred
Thursday morning of last week, a fact we did not learn
in time for the issue of that day. Mr. Shearer,
whose illness we mentioned last week, had been
ailing for some time, as he was quite aged, being
eighty-eight years, five months and nine days old
at the time of his death. He has made his home for
several years with his daughter, Mrs. Wm. McGinnis
, of Laird and had made many friends in that
community during that time. The body was taken
to Hamilton, Montana, for burial, that evening
and was accompanied by his nephew and wife,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McGinnis."
FindaGrave 85265968 has Davis in Riverview Cemetery, 1828-1916, with Mary Ann (Stweart) SHearer 1830-1901.
May 21, 1909 "Garfield Shearer and two sisters,
Fredericka and Leontine and Mrs. Chas. Shearer,
of Hermes, Colo., were transacting land business
with Judge Jennings, Monday."
April 22, 1910 "Miss Fredericka Shearer
died at the Mercy hospital in Denver and was buried
last Sunday. Miss Shearer spent a number of summer
months of the past two years at the Shearer ranch
near Hermes in the south part of this county.
The particulars of her death could not be learned at tills time . ."
