Thomas W. Branton


In 1871 Ontario, James Branton is 46, Mary Ann 42, both born in England. Thomas W. is 16, James 15, Mary Ann 11, Martha J. 9, Fanny C. 7, Charles 3, and Harriet M. five months, all kids born in Ontario.
IN 1881 Ontario, Ann J. is 69, born in Ireland, with John W. 28, Thomas W. 24, David A. 23, William 17, and Elizabeth Marlin 14.
Thomas W. Branton filed a declaration of intent to naturalize in Colorado, Arapahoe County, arriving 1883.

Thomas cash-claimed a quarter in 5, 1N 42W in 1885 - a mile east of Laird.

In 1883 Denver, Thomas Branton is a carpenter for Hallack & Howard, boarding at 579 Champa. So does Charles Branton.

Thomas W. Branton, born at Toronto Canada, to James Branton and Mary Ann Short, age 45, married Ella Humphrey of East Helena, Montana, age 29, born at Crawford County Ohio to John W. Humphrey and Rebecca Trant, in East Helena Montana on October 11, 1899.
Thomas Branton and Richard Lockey filed for a mineral patent in 1894 for Jefferson County, Montana.

Thomas and Ella are farming in Jefferson County, Montana in 1900, just married, with two hired men.
In 1910 they're back in Richland County, Ohio, with J. F. 9 born in Montana, with no occupation.
In 1920 Richland County, Thomas is a laborer, naturalized in 1889, with Ella 53 and James L. 19.
Ella 1866-1940 is buried in Crawford County, # 94134769, with Thomas W. 1854-1930 # 94135093 and James Thomas Branton 1900-1922.
Thomas Wesley Brandon, born August 15, 1854 in Toronto, died March 17, 1930 in Shelby, Richland County, Ohio.

Mrs. Ella Branton, 74, native of Crawford county, died Tuesday night at the home, 64 South Gamble street, following an illness of several years. Born in Crawford county March 20, 1866, Mrs. Branton had been a resident of Shelby for 20 years. She was a member of First Methodist church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Gribben [Mrs. Charles Gribben] of Green...Mich and Miss Anna Humphrey of Shelby. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Saturday at the Dye funeral home with Rev. Arthur Staples, pastor of First Methodist church, assisted by Rev. Russell Hmderer of Mansfield, officiating.
Burial will be made in Oakland cemetery
