John W. and Susan Remley, Jaqua

In 1856 Johnson County, Iowa, John W. is 16, with parents John and Ann Remley. Siblings Calvin 23, Mary 19, Elizabeth A. 90, B.L. H. 89, and Samuel 6.
In 1870 Iowa County, Iowa, John W and Susan are both 27, with Anna M. 3 and Mary 1.

In 1880 Johnson County, Nebraska, John is 37, born in Alabama, Susan 37, Ohio. They have Anna 13, Mary 11, and Clary 9.
In 1890 John filed for an invalid pension for service in G, 28th Iowa, and Susan filed for a widow's pension in 1896.

  John cash-claimed a quarter in 18, 4S 42W in 1891.

John died April 16, 1896 and is buried in Saint Francis # 115167068 "Parents John Harrison Remley and Ann McPherson C. Hogshead. John married Susan Cook March 29, 1866 in Williamsburg, Iowa Co., Iowa. Children Anna May Remley Goerke Martin (d. 1945), Mary Isabel Remley Thompson (d. 1931), Clara Elizabeth Remley Browning (d. 1947), Charles Remley (d. 1874), and Florence Remley (d. 1877)."
In 1900 Washington County, Kansas, Susan is widowed, born May 1843 in Ohio, living with daughter Clara Browning, 29 and her husband Thomas 33 and their two daughters.
Mary is in 1900 Lansing precinct, born June 1868 in Iowa, married to Henry M. Thompson born June 1864 in Illinois. They have George W. Dec 1886 Nebraska and Anna M. Oct 1891 Colorado.

Anna died in 1908 - "Miss Mabel Thompson of Colorado, whose operation for appendicitis last Thursday afternoon was briefly mentioned in our last issue, died from septicemia at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wiest in this city about 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. The body was at once taken to the family home in Colorado, whence the remains were interred in the Armel cemetery on Tuesday. Miss Thompson was very popular in her home neighborhood and a large concourse of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their final resting place. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved parents in this hour of their deep affliction." Source: The St. Francis Herald, March 26, 1908, page 5"

Henry H. Thompson timber-claimed a quarter in 8, 4S 42W in 1899 and proved up one in 1906.

Susan proved up 160 acres in section 8 and 9 in 1906.
1909 Wray "Mrs. Weed and mother, Mrs. Remley, visited the primary room Friday morning."
1910 Armel items "Mrs. Susan Remley is visiting at the home of Geo. Cummins."
Susan is with the Brownings in 1920 and 1930, too.
Susan died April 24, 1931, and is also buried in Saint Francis.
Clara (Remley) Browning died in 1947 -

 

In 1880 Franklin County, Nebraska, Harry R. Remley, a painter, 32 and Artie 20, have Tina May six months.
In 1900 Franklin County, Nebraska, Myron H. Weed, born July 1878 in Iowa, is just married to Tina Dec 1879 Nebraska.
In 1910 Laird, Myron doesn't have an occupation. He and Tina E. have Lucille 9, Herbert 6, and Louis 3, all three born in Nebraska.
Myron Herbert Weed, born July 17, 1878, is farming in Laird when he registered.
