Apr. 6, 1922: FORMER RESIDENT DIES Mrs. Harriett Brooks, wife of Thos. Brooks, former residents of this city passed away near Hale, Colo., Saturday noon, April 1st. She was buried Sunday, April 2nd, at Jaqua, Kans., by the side of her husband who preceded her several years. She leaves to mourn her departure, five children, two of whom were with her at the time she passed away: Bert, a Methodist minister, of Republican City, Nebr., and Rolla D., of Hale, Colo., Blythe, of Jericho Springs, Mo., Mrs. Vester Reasoner, of Westfield vicinity, and Fay Bruton of Delta, Colo., were unable to be with her on account of sickness in their own families. The Brooks family lived here and at Johnson City for a number of years and were well and favorably known. While residents of this city they lived in the property now occupied by O. A. Young and family. Two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Walker of this place are wives of the two sons, Roy D. and Blythe.
