JUSTIN - who only stayed two years in Yuma County.

  Justin cash-claimed a quarter in 20 and 21, 4S 42W in 1890, and  timber-claimed one in 29 in 1896.

 He's the one buried in Allegan County, Michigan 1861-1948, with Hester A. Brooks 1862-1942. # 8147500.H

This Justin was born in Watson Township, Michigan Sep 3, 1861 to Randall W. Brooks of New York and Jane Brewer.

In 1900 Allegan County, Michigan, "Judson" Brooks born Sep 1861 married 18 years to Etta, March 1862, have Harold Dec 1891, Ronald Aug 1892, and his father Randall Sept 1817 New York.

In 1910 Allegan County, Michigan, Justin J. is 49, married 27 years to Etta A. 48, born in Canada.  They have Harold W. 19 and Randall W. 18, both born in Michigan, and his father Randall W. Brooks 92, widowed is with them.

In 1880 St Clair County, Missouri, Charles Franklin Younger is 45, Florine 26, Maud 6, and Eddie 1.  Both parents died a few years later.

In 1880 St. Clair County, Missouri, Thos G. Brooks is 31, Hattie A. 29, Leroy D. 7 Burt D. 9, and Blith D. newborn.

In 1900 St. Clair County, Missouri, Roy, born Nov 1872, married four years to Maud May 1874, with Arthur Nov 1898 Missouri.  On the same page is Thomas Brooks Oct 1846 Illinois, with Hattie Aug 1857 New York.  Blythe Nov 1879, Allie March 1884, and Faye June 1886 - these three in Missouri.

In 1905 Graham County, Kansas, Happy precinct (the same precinct as the Ostrander family) Roy is 32, Maude 31, Arthur 6, and Lois 1.

In 1910 Hale precinct, Yuma County, Roy D. Brook is 37, first marriage, with Maud R. L. 36 , also first marriage, married 14 years.  They have Arther 11, Missouri, Lois E. 6 Missouri, and Mattie M. one, Colorado.

Leroy proved up a quarter in 31, 4S 42W in 1916.

In 1920 Hale precinct, Roy is 46, Maude 46, with Arthur 21 Missouri, Lois 16 , Missouri, and Marrie 11 Colorado.  Mother Hattie 69 widowed, born in New York, is also with them.

Thomas Brooks 1846-1915 and Harriett A. (Dutcher) Brooks -1850-1922 are buried in Jaqua, Kansas # 31664352 and 31664354

FORMER RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. Harriett Brooks, wife of Thos. Brooks, former residents of this city passed away near Hale, Colo., Saturday noon, April 1st. She was buried Sunday, April 2nd, at Jaqua, Kans., by the side of her husband who preceded her several years. She leaves to mourn her departure, five children, two of whom were with her at the time she passed away: Bert, a Methodist minister, of Republican City, Nebr., and Rolla D., of Hale, Colo., Blythe, of Jericho Springs, Mo., Mrs. Vester Reasoner, of Westfield vicinity, and Fay Bruton of Delta, Colo., were unable to be with her on account of sickness in their own families.

The Brooks family lived here and at Johnson City for a number of years and were well and favorably known. While residents of this city they lived in the property now occupied by O. A. Young and family. Two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Walker of this place are wives of the two sons, Roy D. and Blythe.

In 1930 Yuma County, Roy D. Brooks, 57, and Maud 56, both born in Missouri, are farming.

Roy and Maude are in Cedaredge, Colorado in 1940.
