Edwin Harvey Foster, Frederick H. Foster, Hughes

Edwin Harvey Foster was born Dec 21, 1845 in Belknap County, New Hampshire. He married Nancy Ellen Goodall (6/7/1849 Sauk County Wisconsin) in Iowa August 26, 1865.

In 1880 Hancock County, Iowa Ed Foster is 34, running a restaurant, Nancy 30, Fred 13. Lilly 10, Marion 5.  They have a servant Mary Rosway 19, and at least four boarders.

In 1885 Douglas County Nebraska, there's an Edwin Foster, 39, with Frederick 17, Lillian 15, Marion 10, and Nancy 35.

  Edwin is Frederick's father.

In 1892 Edwin H. Foster , 16th US Infantry, was in the G.A.R. Post 131 in Franklin County

 In 1900 Franklin County Ed H. "Forter" Dec 1845 New Hampshire, with Nancy June 1849, Wisconsin.   Daughter ? Mandy May 1889 Nebraska is with them.

In 1900 Franklin County Fred is 32, Millory 28, not named - nine months, and E.J Bacon, boarder, April 1890, born in Nebraska.   wonder if this is a first child of Millie....

The Franklin County genweb site has a Nancy Forster/Foster -1849-1902 with a card in the index,

 and Edwin H. Foster/Forster 1845-1916 with an obituary.

It also has a Mary Jane (Craig) Goodale  - 1853-1930

In 1910 Franklin County, Nebraska Frederick W. Foster is 42, Mallie 39, and Merle L. 10.

Edwin proved up two quarters in 17, 3S 48W in 1916, with witnesses Jerry Bennett, Fred Foster, Charley Goodin, and John Stiles.  There's an Edwin H. Foster buried in Franklin County, Nebraska, born 12/24/1846 dying 1/2/1916.  He was widowed in 1910 Franklin County, born in New Hampshire.

Edwin was admitted to the veterans hospital in South Dakota in 1914, widower, residence in Yuma subsequent to discharge, nearest relative son Fred Foster of Yuma.

 

Frederick proved up  two quarters in section 20, 3S 48W in 1917.

Frederick W. Foster is in Yuma County in 1920, 52, born in Iowa, married to Millie, 49.  They have Merle L. 20 and Dora B. 17.

In 1930 Yuma County Fred 62 and Millie 58 have granddaughters Opal 9, Rachel 7, and Hazel 5, all born in Colorado, parents in Nebraska.  Walter Goodin is a servant, 29.

 

Frederick W. Foster 1867-1945, Millie 1870-1960, and Merle L. Foster 1899-1959 are buried in the Yuma Cemetery.

Mrs. B.H. Clawson was Lillian A. Foster, born Nov 1, 1859 at Plainfield Illinois - and died March 1913 in Yuma
