Elnathan Mudge, Heartstrong
Elnathan proved up a quarter in 24, 1S 47W in 1893, so he was there about the same time as the Binford, James, and Soules families.
In 1899 "E. Mudge" was delinquent on taxes for five acres in the sw of 23, 2 48 - right on the edge of the town of Yuma.
Elnathan 1834-1901 and Celia 1828-1906 Mudge are buried in Southside Cemetery, Saratoga County, New York.
Another Elnathan Mudge - serving in the 23rd Battery, NY Light Artillery received a pension from February 1907 to his death 11/15/1916
In 1917 the will of Elnathan Mudge, late of South Glens Falls, Saratoga County, was probated, and daughter Alice E. Mudge, "now of Hawaii" was the chief beneficiary of $675. Other bequests were to Carson E. Davis grandson and Vivian Potter grand-daughter.
The Standard Atlas of Gage County, pub. 1922, shows Willie E. Mudge owning the SE quarter of section 10. He is across the road from E. B. Mudge who owns the NE quarter of section 15. Other Mudges in the area are G. T. Mudge, Charles H. Mudge, William E. Mudge, W. F. Ray Mudge
