| Abishai Ruppman Sailor and Ella E. Delinger were married 4 January 1884 in Franklin county, Nebraska. Abishai was born 3 April 1859 at Wakeman, Pike county, Ohio to Bennett and Nancy Kinney Sailor. He died 4 April 1912 in Bladen Nebraska and is buried in the Plainview cemetery near there. They divorced in 1909. Ella was born 15 March 1867 in Washington township, Adams county, Iowa near Carl to Henry Delinger and Mary Jane Prather Delinger. After the divorce Mrs. Sailor moved south of Yuma, Colorado about 1919 where she homesteaded. She moved to Denver about 1948 to live with her daughter Macie Brown. She died 3 June 1951 and was buried in the Otis, Colorado cemetery. They had three daughters, Adelma, Florence born 31 January and died 30 August 1953 and Macie born 29 April 1899 who resided at the Washington county Nursing home in Akron, Colorado in 1984. |
| Merle Ambrose Strawder, age 103 of Broken Bow, formerly of
Scottsbluff passed away November 13, 2011 at the Heritage Hall Nursing
Home in Broken Bow. He was born July 31, 1908 in McCook, NE to Oliver and Dora Strawder. Merle married Lila Delinger in Yuma, Colorado on November 15, 1930. Together they farmed and ranched in Yuma, CO near Hudson, CO and then in Marsland, NE until they retired in Scottsbluff. Merle and Lila Delinger were married 68 years. |
| Forest Delinger, 87, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away January
27, 2013. He was born August 31, 1925 in Yuma, Colorado to Noel and Anna
Delinger. He graduated from Yuma Union High School and received a
Masters Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Forest is a U.
S. Navy veteran and served in World War II. In 1948, Forest married Betty J. Berry in Sterling, Colorado and to this union three sons were born. Forest started his teaching career in the Yuma, Colorado area. In 1957, he moved his family to Fort Collins, where he taught at Lincoln Junior High. He was a boys counselor at Lesher Junior High, principal at Timnath and worked in several administration positions. He worked his way up to Executive Elementary Principal and finished his career as principal of Wellington elementary, retiring in 1986. Forest was a member of First Methodist Church in Fort Collins, The Optimist Club, Masonic Lodge, Fort Collins Lodge No 19, Shriners and Elks Lodge. He loved bowling and wildlife. Forest is survived by his sons, David Delinger of Fresno, California and Steve (Davetta) Delinger of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Britnie Lynn (Ian) Kane of Nashville, Tennessee, Kailey Jessup (Brian) Keels of Charleston, South Carolina; great-grandchild, Maren Jessup Kane. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Delinger; son Kevin Delinger, twin brother Foster Delinger. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Mended Hearts and the Masonic Home Association, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado 80526. |
