Frank and Belle Munz, daughter Anna Munz, Friend

One tree said she was Isabel Simmons, born about 1862 in Indiana.  She's with parents J. Simmons 33 and Sarah 32 in Randolph County, Indiana in 1870.  Siblings James 10, John 6, Solomon 3, and Grant 2.

In 1910 Idalia precinct, Frank is 38, Iowa, Belle 48, Indiana, with Annie 22, Blanche 20, George 18,  and Joseph 16, all four born in Kansas.

 Frank proved up two quarters in 11, 4S 45W in 1912, and another 160 acres in 11 and 12, in 1914.

Anna proved up two quarters in 2, 4S 45W in 1920.

Blanche B. Munz married Charles V. McClure June 8, 1910, recorded in Kit Carson County.  (Charles proved up two quarters in 21, 5S 45W in 1913, and Lillian E. (McClure) Boggs a quarter in 27 in 1911.    One Ancestry tree said Blanche died May 31, 1918 in Sterling.

 1905 Wray "Miss L. McClure, of near Idalia, enrolled as a student Monday morning to the summer normal being held here." 1905 "John McClure and son Charlie were in town- Wray- the four part of the week.")

March 1910 "Married at the residence of C.A. Yersin, the officiating minister in Burlington, March 23, Mr. Carol Boggs to Miss Lillian McClure of near Idalia."   Charles V. McClure married Sarah E. Heverly Nov 15, 1916, recorded in Denver.

Blanche McClure married I.F. Waters May 21, 1921, recorded in Mesa County.

1911 "Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Boggs were called to Sterling, Colo., last Sunday by the death of the latter's father, Mr. McClure.

John W. McClure 1852-1911 # 57037464 and Sarah (Stutzman) McClure are buried in Sterling.  Her obituary said Lillian Boggs lived in Phoenix and Charles V. in Yucca Valley California, Nola Fosgate of Billings, and John of Long Beach, California.

Charles Vernon McClure registered in Sterling born Nov 14, 1888, farming, relative Sarah J. McClure of Sterling.

In 1920 Sterling, Sarah McClure 57 is widowed, born in Indiana, Chas V. 36 her son born in Illinois, a real estate man, and Sarah E. 28, born in Pennsylvania.

On the same page is C.O. and Lillian Boggs, both 36, and their son J.V. nine months.

In 1930 Sterling, Charles is 45 a realtor, Elizabeth 35 (married ten years) a stenographer, with Elmo 17, Irvin 12, and Francis 16.

In 1940 San Bernardino, California, Charles V. McClure is 51, Charletta 32, with Charles Albert, 3.  One tree said Charles V. married Charlotte Hanson,  and she died in 2000.

1959  I have just returned from a visit with Charles McClure of  near Yucca Valley, Calif,, the oldtimer whom Desert featured in an article in the September '58 issue.
Unfortunately, the McClures had a fire at their cabin that burned them out completely. Among the things they lost was a guest register containing the names and addresses of over a thousand people who visited their place in Rattlesnake Canyon. McClure valued that register very much, and he would like all the people who signed it to drop him a card so he can start a new address book. Mail will reach him that is addressed c/o Postmaster, Yucca Valley, Calif.
 

Elmo Vernon McClure 1912-1945 was killed on Okinawa, reinterred in Honolulu # 101267708.

Irvin J. McClure 1916-1991 - Army sergeant WWII is buried in Oak Harbor, Washington #42537515.

1912 Wray "Chas. McClure was a visitor Monday from Fox making the trip in the Fair car."

1912 "Chas V. McClure returned from Sterling to look after the harvest on his homestead."

1914 "George Cooley and wife and Chas. McClure and wife and daughter took dinner with Frank Munz and family Sunday."

Joseph Mathias Munz registered with an Idalia address, born Oct 31, 1892 at Richmond, Kansas.

In 1920 Idalia precinct, Frank is 62, Belle 58, George 29, and Joe M. 27.

Anna E. Munz, per # 126573129, 1889-1922, is buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Denver.

Belle -1862-1950 is also buried there # 93204387, block 76. Also in block 76 is Francis M. 1858-1933 # 93204388.

In block 38 is George W. Munz 1891-1947, "private 302 Ammo Tn, 77th Division, World War I.

All four are in Derby, Colorado - near Denver- in 1930, farm laborers.  They have a hired man, so they must be doing well.

Frank was in the 1920 Atlas, with a photograph of him with a buggy and team.

 

Oregon death records have Joseph M. Munz dying January 4, 1967, spouse Anna.
