Jerome P. King, 83, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Jerome Palmer King returned to his loving Heavenly Father the morning of November 17, 2012 in his home, and surrounded by his adoring family. As the patriarch of the family, Jerry led by example. He taught all, especially his family, the importance of loving one another and doing good to others. In his last days, it was fitting that he became the beneficiary of what he spent a lifetime teaching as his wife, eight children, 37 grandchildren, and 14 great grand children had the opportunity to serve this great man and express love to him. Throughout his life, Jerry took endless opportunities to help others. He was determined to find a way to bless the life of every member of his family and the lives of everyone else he came in contact with. This was his special mission in life and he took it very seriously. His professional life was equally as successful. He spent more than 60 years at the helm of one of the largest sub contracting firms in the southwest. The Pete King Companies have participated in the construction of projects ranging from military installations to retirement communities, to sports venues and everything in between. He loved his business and devoted a lifetime to it and its employees. Even the business was more like a family and Jerry was thought of more of a father figure than a boss. With his life, Jerry has set high standards for us to live up to. He spent his lifetime providing teachings, tools, and the examples to follow. He worked hard his entire life and did not accept defeat or excuses. Integrity and hard work were of utmost importance. We are saddened at his passing and will miss him, but find joy in knowing that he is anxiously engaged and back to work in Heaven. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 325 W. Coral Gables dr. on Wednesday November 21, 2012. Viewing at 9:30am, services at 11am. - 116064022
