In 1880 Smith County, Kansas, Jeremiah and Elizabeth Dunn have Alva, 7, Eva 3, and a month-old daughter.

In 1900 Smith County, Kansas, Jeremiah Dunn, Aug 1846 Ohio, has been married 30 years to Elizabeth, born July 1850 in North Carolina.  They have Claud, March 1885 Ohio, Eva May June 1855 Iowa, Nora, May 1880 Kansas, Mary Bell May 1889 Kansas, and Wm. Seth May 1891 Kansas.

In 1910 Eva 33, born in Iowa, is living with brother Claude 25, Kansas, and her sister Nova 30, also Kansas,  in Yuma County.  Claude and Nova are farming, but Eva has no occupation.

MARY

LeeRoy Upp registered in Yuma County, born April 15, 1888 in Lebanon, Kansas, was married with three children.

Roy Upp proved up 320 acres in sections 22, 23, and 26, 2S 46W in 1916.

Leroy -1888-1954 and Mary B. Upp -1889-1971  - 28783926 - are buried in West Lawn, Eugene, Oregon.

EVA and NORA

1909 "Miss Dunn, who has been spending a few days on her claim southwest of Vernon, is now visiting at her former home at Inavale, Nebraska."

1913 "Eva Dunn had two carpenters, C.J. Dunn and Leroy Upp, the most of last week improving and putting a new addition to her residence.   So, it is supposed, there will be something doing in the near future.  But, Miss Dunn says, 'nothing doing in the connubial line until the figure 13 will be eliminated and vanished completely from the calendar.'"

1913 "Miss Dunn of Lincoln, Nebr., arrived in Eckley Saturday and visited until Sunday morning with the Frank Gilbert family.  She went out to her homestead near Mildred."

Eva proved up on two quarters in 4 and 9, 3S 46W in 1914, witnesses Roy Upp, David C. Bell, Claude J. Dunn, and Edward McCole, all of Happyville.

Nora E. Dunn proved up two quarters in 33 and 34, 2S 46W in 1916, witnesses Claude J. Dunn, Alloyus Brady, John T. Andrews, and David C. Bell, all of Happyville.

1917 Smith County, Kansas "Miss Nora Dunn, who has been at Lincoln, Nebraska for the last two years, is home on a visit."

1919 Smith County "Miss Nora Dunn left Monday for Yuma Colo., expecting to sell her half section of land located there."

Eva is in Lincoln in 1920, no occupation.  She and her widowed father "Jermia" , 71, are living with her sister Mary Upp, her husband Ray, and their five kids, all born in Colorado.

Nora, a seamstress,  and Eva - no occupation -  are in Lincoln in 1930, on the census next to brother Claude.

In 1940 Nora - a 'furr seamstress' and Eva - no occupation - are in Lincoln, Nebraska, living with nephew Ralph Upp, 26, Colorado, his wife Dorothy 19, Nebraska, and their son Robert 2, Nebraska

Eva - June 25, 1877 - April 12, 1958 is buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln. 37448540 

Nora E. Dunn  - May 29, 1880 - July 27, 1960 is also in Wyuka  -  37448651  - their brother William - May 29, 1891 - Mar 25, 1968 is also buried in Wyuka  37448713

CLAUDE

1914 "Jerry Dunn, who had been visiting at the home of his son, C.J. Dunn, for the past month, returned to his ome at Red Could, Nebr., on Tuesday evening's train."

1915 "The twin boys of Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Dunn have been two very sick children for several days, but are reportd better at this writing."

"Miss Verda Polly, the head foreman at C.J. Dunn's, was visiting at home last Sunday."

Claude J. Dunn proved up 320 acres in 28 and 29, 2S 46W in 1916, witnesses Arthur L. Howard, Sterman H. Lawver, David C. Bell, and Edward McCole, all of Happyville.

Claude registered in Yuma County, farming, born March 21, 1885, nearest relative Mabel M. Dunn.

In 1920 Mildred precinct Claude and Mable have Otto H. 7, Ray J. and Fay J, both 4, all three born in Colorado.

1920 Smith County "Mrs. Claude Dunn and children of Yuma county, Colorado are here visiting at the home of Mrs. Dunn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Peterson."

In 1930 they're in Lincoln, Nebraska, with Harold O. 17, Ray and Fay, 15, Thelma 9, and Warren 1.

In 1935 Lincoln Claude is a laborer for the parks department.

Claude J. Dunn died May 21, 1952 in Lincoln, Nebraska and is buried in Lincoln Memorial Park 94933707 - Mabel M. Dunn - Sep 1, 1886- June 3, 1936 is also buried there.

In 1940 Lincoln, Claude is widowed, a caretaker for the city park, and Thelma - a shirt finisher at a laundry - and Warren are with him.

Thelma (Dunn) Beck, 81, born in Wray, died October 2001 in Portland, Oregon.

WILLIAM

William J. Dunn proved up on a quarter in 26, 5S 46W in 1912, witnesses Sarah Ferguson, A. Everett Burnside, J. William Gross, and David S. Manley, all of Tuttle, Colorado.  (this is probably a different William Dunn)

1913 "Mrs. Willie Dunn of Smith County, Kansas, is here for a few weeks' visit with relatives around Vernon and Happyville.  She says that the corn here looks better and altogether different than any she has seen in Kansas."

1913 Smith County "Mrs. Emma Dunn and daughter Ella have returned from a visit with home folks in Yuma Colorado."

1913 Smith County "Mrs. T.E. Dunn after a short visit here returned Saturday to her home at Eckley, Colo."

1914

1918 "Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Dunn spent last Sunday afternoon with the C.J. Dunn family.

1919 "Will Dunn and family have had a severe siege of the 'flu.' A number of relatives were called to their bedside."

Parents  JEREMIAH and Elizabeth DUNN

One tree said Elizabeth Louisa Moffitt, born July 22, 1850 in Ashboro, Randolph County, North Carolina, married Jeremiah Dunn September 29, 1870 in Montgomery County, Iowa (the marriage is registered in Page County Iowa) , and died about 1913 in Smith County, Kansas.

HISTORY OF PAGE COUNTY

Mount Hope Cemetery, Smith County has "Maud E. , dau. of J. & E.L. DUNN, born July 14, 1882, died Oct 14, 1897."   The Red Cloud newspaper of October 29, 1897 says "Miss Dunn, living near Cora, died last week with throat trouble and was buried in Mt. Hope cemetery."

It says Jeremiah died April 8, 1922 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

In 1891 Jeremiah Dunn of Hawleyville was granted a veterans' pension.

In 1894 Jeremiah Dunn of Page County, Iowa received an increase in his veteran's pension.

1921 "J.C. Dunn and daughter, Nora, former residents of this vicinity but now residing in Lincoln, Nebraska are here for an extended visit."
