In 1880 Colfax County, Nebraska, Christian "Brunswig" is 39,
Louisa 39, Eda 14, Lena 12, William 10, Fiedken 7, Augusta 5, Henry 3,
Emil 2, and Annie three months.
In 1900 Furnas County, Nebraska, Emil is 22, with Chris 61 and Louisa 60. Augusta is 25, Anna 20, and Martha 17.
Emil, 22, son of C. Brunswick and Lizzie Holtz,
and Lettie, 18, daughter of C.D. Carpenter and Eva Laura May Hatfield,
married in Furnas County, Nebraska April 23, 1901, both residing at Arapahoe, Nebraska.
Eva (1868-1954) died in McCook, Charles 1860-1912? in Yuma County.
Charles Carpenter was in Tama County, Iowa in 1870, with Herbert 54 and Mary A. 45. Martha E. is 12, Charles D. 8 - both born in Illinois, and Edward 1, born in Iowa
Hurlburt Carpenter 1816-1897 is buried in Furnas County, Nebraska # 52259722, with
Mary Ann (Woodruff) Carpenter 1824-1909 # 52259946.
In 1880 Page County, Iowa, Hurlburt is 63, Mary Ann 47, Charles 18,
and Edward 12.
Parkus Carpenter 26 is a son, listed after Edward.
But if the death certificate of Park Carpenter in 1916 San Antonio is right,
he was the son of Andrew and Annie L. Carpenter of Ohio, born March 14, 1853
, dying August 2, 1916. The death certificate says buried in Temple, but # 11637728 havs him buried in McLennan County # 11637728, born March 14, 1858.
Edward M. Carpenter married Alice Land on Sept 30, 1889 in Stockville, Nebraska, and died in Stamos;ais
County, California July 30, 1957, buried in Mendocino 1866-1957 # 103508337.
Charles D. Carpenter married Eva Laura May Hatfield on May 17, 1882 in Clarinda, Iowa.
In 1885 Gosper County, Nebraska, Charles is 22, Eva 17, Willy 2, and Lotta six months.
In 1900 Furnas County, Nebraska, Charles born Sept 1860 in Ohio, is married 18 years to
Eva, born May 1868 in Iowa. Willie Feb 1883 in Iowa, Lettie Dec 1885 in Nebraska, Eddie Oct 1887 inNebraska, Roy Mar 1890 in Nebraska, Frank July 1894 Nebraska, Oliver March 1895 Nebraska,

May 15, 1913 "Word was received in Wray last Saturday of the death of
Charles Carpenter at his home near Mildred, Colorado. Mr. Carpenter was
taken ill with typhoid fever about two weeks prior to his death, and later
pneumonia developed and his constitution was not stiong enough to battle
with the combined diseases. The funeral services were held at the
district school house and interment was made at the Glendale cemetery.
(actually buried in Mildred 1861-1912)
Mr. Carpenter came to Yuma county a little over two years ago and filed
on a homestead near Mildred, where he made his home until his death."

May 22, 1913 Wray "E. F. Brunswick, one of the men who has been held in
the county jail to await trial for beating a neighbor a few weeks ago,
gave bond last Friday and was released. The bond was a $500 cash bond.
Will Carpenter who was arrested with Brunswick on the same charge is still
in the county bastile."
Emil Fred Brunswick registered for WWI with a Mildred, Colorado address, born May 2, 1878, farming, relative Lettie Bell Brunswick.
Emil proved up two quarters in 22 and 23, 3S 46W in 1919. His witnesses were John W. Fox, David Anderson, John W. Wheeler ,and Herman W. Lidke,.
In 1920 Yuma County, "Amel Brunswich" is 44, Lettie 35, Francis 13,
Lewis 16, Merna 10, - all born in Nebraska.
Esther 5 and Fay seven months were born in Colorado.
Lettie's brother Franklin Carpenter, 26 is with them.
In the early 1920s families had children old enough to help with the
work and that gave the families time for some recreation, such as
baseball, horse races and some small rodeos.
About everyone was adding more rooms to their homes. When that happened,
they would have a dance before anything was moved in. The enjoyment of
dances gave folks a new trend. Homes with one or two extra rooms would
occasionally move the furniture out and have a dance. There were several
families all over that were musicians, such as the Brunswick's, Jim
Knudson, Hank Dilka and Harve Crouse. They put corn meal on the floor to
make it slippery.
In 1930 Emil is a janitor in McCook, 51, Lettie B. 45, with Esther E. 16
and Inez M. 10.
In 1940 McCook, Emil is 63, Lettie 54, grandsons Don Brunswick 12 and Vern 9.
1942 "The body of Lavern Brunswick, 12, McCook, was found Sunday in eight feet of water in a sandpit one mile south of McCook. Brunswick, adopted son of his grandfather, Emil Brunswick ot McCook, was believed to have gone swimming alone. He had been dead several hours when his body was found by several other boys, physicians said."
Emil "Frank" Brunswick, 1878-1962 is buried in McCook, Nebraska # 52309131.
So is Lettie Belle (Carpenter) Brunswick 1884-1966 # 52309217.
ESTHER
Esther E. Brunswick and Adrian L. Roach divorced in San Diego in September 1969.
Esther, born May 20, 1914 in Colorado, died May 18, 1987 in San Diego.
FRANCIS
In 1930 McCook, next to brother Lewis, Francis is a laborer for a fruit company, 28, with Merle 22 born in Kansas. Harold is 3, Phyllis 2, and Ernest N. five months.
Francis Emil Brunswick 1902-1997 is buried in McCook, with Merle Effie (Whitney) Brunswick 1908-1989.
Francis Emil Brunswick, at 94, of McCook, died Saturday (May 3, 1997) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
He was born Aug. 15, 1902, at McCook to Emil Francis and Lette (Carpenter) Brunswick.
He worked at McCook Equity Exchange for many years and also at Memorial Park Cemetery.
On Jan. 11, 1926, he married Merle E. Whitney at St. Francis Kan.
He played the violin and also played at dances and church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Merle, on April 7, 1989; three sisters, Merna Mundhenke, Esther Roach, and Inez Hackenkamp; and one brother, Lewis Brunswick.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis McCarville and husband Harold and Phyllis Hager and husband Cecil, all of McCook; four sons, Harold Brunswick and wife Harriot of Haigler, Virgil Brunswick and wife Ramona of Arvada, Colo., Richard Brunswick and wife Mavis of McCook, and Verlyn Brunswick and wife Delores of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Carpenter-Breland Chapel in McCook with Pastor Clark Baths officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at McCook.
(Emil's sister Anna born 1880 married a Bradford Johnson and lived in Chase County
, Nebraska. They had June Laura Johnson on Sept 15, 1914 in Boise, Idaho. She then married Charles Asp, and died in 1950. She's buried in Boise # 61141444.
LEWIS
In 1930 McCook, Lewis M. Brunswick is an electrician, 26, with Theresa M. 23 born in Kansas. They have Donald 2.
In 1940 McCook, Lew is 34, now married to Dorothy 22 born in Nebraska.
Lewis Marion Brunswick 1904-1986 is buried in McCook, with Dorothy G. (Boner) Brunswick 1917-1981.
MRYNA
Myrna B. (Brunswick) Mundhenke 1906-1994 is buried in McCook, with Abel Ira Mundhenke 1895-1977.
