Albert P. Seipel, Edward J. Seipel, Pleasant Valley



In 1870 Clark County, Indiana, Harman Schalk is 59, farming, with Benjamin 18, Mary 20, Harmon 12, Joseph 10, Amalade 4, and Caroline 5.

In 1880 Clark County, Indiana, Mary Schalk is 28, living with brother Herman 23, brother Joseph 21, and sister Caroline 15, all born in Idndiana.

Mary Schalk married Philip "Seepel" in Clark County, Indiana on November 9, 1880.

In 1900 Nodaway County, Missouri, Philip Seipel is farming, born July 1848 in Germany, married 20 years to Mary October 1849 Indiana. Francis January 1881, Katie October 1883, Henry January 1885, and Albert June 1887 were born in Indiana, Edward September 1888 and Herman Juanuary 1890 born in Missouri.

November 11, 1930 "Members of the Seipel family celebrated the fiftieth wedding anniversary of their parents, Mr. and Mr Phillip Seipel Sunday, with Mass at 8 o'clock at St Mary's Church, the Rev. Father John Kunkel officiating followed by a dinner at their home on North Mulberry street. Those in the party were the honor guests, the Rev. Father Kunkel, Mr. and Mrs Henry Kill, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seipel and family, Mr. and Mr Albert Seipel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Seipel, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Selpel and family, Mr. and Mrs. V. J Kelmel, Misses Clara Louise Seipel, Lottie and Kathryn Kelmel, Marie Seipel, Lester Kelmel, Robert Seipel, Joseph Seipel and Francis Kill."

Philip Seipel, born February 12, 1848, died in Maryville March 5, 1931, wife Mary. He was to be buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.
In 1920, E. J. Seipel owned 320 acres in sections 10 and 11, 3N 46W, and Albert had two quarters in 22, 4N 46W.

ALBERT
In 1910 Nodaway County, Albert and brother Henry are farming together.

In 1920 Nodaway County, Albert is farming, 33, Jennie 26, with Clara L. 2 and Raymond four months.
The Yuma newspaper of 1915-1930 don't mention the Seipel's, so they didn't linger, if they lived there at all.

They're still farming in Nodaway County in 1930, with Clara 12, Raymond E. 10, Gertrude M. 7, and Earl E. 4.


May 1947 Maryville, Missouri

Albert Phillips Seipel 1886-1969 is buried in Maryville # 141580087, with Jennie (Sturm) Seipel 1894-1988.

March 11, 1969 "Albert P. Seipel, 82, Maryville, died at 3:05 p. m. Monday at St. Francis Hospital following a long illness. He was born June 1, 1886, at Lewisville, Ind., and was the son of the late Phillip and Mary Schalk Seipel.
He was married Apr. 14, 1915, at St. Mary’s Church, Maryville, to Miss Jennie Sturm, who survives. He was a life-long resident of Nodaway County, a retired farmer and a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church.
Funeral mass will be said at 10:30 a. m. Thursday at St. Gregory’s Church with the Rev. Rodney Crewse saying the mass and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Besides his wife of the home, he is survived by two sons, Earl Seipel, Maryville, and Raymond Seipel, Conception ; two daughters, Mrs. Francis Wilmes and Mrs. Ralph Zech, Maryville; a sister, Mrs. Henry Kill, Council Bluffs, Iowa, 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren."

Raymond Earl Seipel, 93, Maryville, Missouri, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville.
Raymond was born to Albert Phillip and Jennie Martha (Sturm) Seipel on September 2, 1919 at Maryville, Missouri.
On January 15,1946, Raymond and Eileen Rosalia Wiederholt were married at the Conception Abbey, in Conception Missouri.
Raymond was a World War II Veteran and served in the South Pacific with the US Army. He returned home and farmed in the Ravenwood area and was very involved in activites at his church, St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Maryville. He was a former member of St. Columba Parish, Conception Jct., Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen (June 1, 2013), son Stephen Seipel (1957), brother Francis Albert Seipel, and sisters Clara Louise Wilmes and Mary Gertrude Zech.
Raymond is survived by three sons: Mark (Beth) Seipel, Macomb, Illinois, Philip (Linda) Seipel and Chris (Sandy) Seipel, both of Ravenwood, Missouri, two daughters, Julie (William) Whitsitt, Dallas,Texas and Sara Marshall, New Canaan, Connecticut, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and brother Earl Seipel, Maryville.
A parish rosary will be held at 5:00 PM Monday, June 17, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, followed by a visitation from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Mass of Christial Burial will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 18, also at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, with burial in St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri.

EDWARD

Edward J. Seipel and Clara E. Wallace, both of Maryville, married there May 10, 1911.

Edward Joseph Seipel registered for WWI in Maryville, Missouri, born at Graham, Missouri Sept 14, 1888. He's farming, with wife and child.

He's farming in Yuma County in 1920, 31, with Clara 30 and Robert L. 5, all born in Missouri.
Because he's on the same census page as my great-uncle Frank Woodward, they were living near Waverly.

They're back in Nodaway County in 1930, E. James 41, Clara 40, and Robert 18.

September 7, 1931 "A surprise basket dinner was given yesterday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Seipel, south of Maryville, in celebration of their birthday anniversaries. In the company were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seipel and children, Gertrude, Clara Louise, Raymond and Karl, Mr and Mis Alfred Jones, Mr. and Mrs Clay Moody, Mark Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Mainline and son, Jackie Lee, Mr. and Mrs Henry Kill and son, Francis, Georin? Knobbs, Nettle Cockayne, Will Knobbs, Harvey Knobbs, Mr. and Mrs. John Fisher and sons, Wallace and Donald, Miss Fannie Knobbs, Mrs. Marv Wallace, Merrill Kill and Robert Seipel."

Edward 1889-1944 is buried in Maryville # 112163434, with Clara E. 1899-1981.

December 1, 1944 " Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at St. Marys church for Edward Joseph Seipel, 55-year-old farmer, and at .. o'clock Thursday morning at his home, East Seventh street. The Rev. Fr. Isodore Diebold, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St Mary's cemetery. The rosary will be held at 8 o clock tonight at the Seipel home. He was born September 14, 1889, at Graham, and had resided at the present residence .... On May 10, 1911, he was married to Clare Wallace at St. Mary's parsonage. He was a member of St. Mary's church. Besides his wife he is mourned by a son, Robert Seipel Maryville: two brothers; Albert Seipel. Maryville; Herman Seipel, Pukeniig; one sister. Mrs. Henry Kill. Maryville, and one grandson, Richard Seipel."

December 4, 1944 "Funeral services were "held Saturday at St. Marys church for Edward Joseph Seipel, who died Thursday. The pastor, the Rev. Fr. Isidore Diebold, officiated. Burial was in Sit. Mary's cemetery. Pallbearers were Cans ZLumner ..."
