1935 Mr. and Mrs. Jay Prentice and family, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Prentice and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Prentice and family spent Sunday with Harold Prentice and family north of Yuma. Harold has rented a farm in Indiana and they are going there to live.

Walker of St. Paul, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fearing, Jane and Howard Jr. of Salem, HI., Mrs. Lottie Coss of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. E. N. Lester of Fowler, Mrs. Marine Fearing of Indian Hills, Mrs. Beulah Orndorff of Aurora and Percy S. Coss of Denver. Prentice relatives who were here included Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Duckworth and daughter Gail of Huntington Park, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brown and family of Onawa, la., Norman Prentice of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Harold Prentice of Cloverdale, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Prentice of Denver.
Funeral services for Floyd K. Prentice, 65, of Denver were held at the Methodist church in Hotchkiss on Tuesday afternoon, January 5, with Rev. Paul Shields officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Taylor Mortuary. A former dairyman at Hotchkiss, where he had resided for nearly 20 years, Mr. Prentice had been living at Denver the past four years. He died at seven-thirty Thursday evening, December 31, at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver shortly after being stricken by a heart attack. He was bom April 28, 1894. at Laird, Colorado, a son of Burton and Idela Knight Prentice, and attended schools at Fort Collins and Colorado State University. He married Gertrude Taylor at Denver on September 19, 1919. Before his death he had been a custodian in a Denver Methodist church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Wayne Prentice of Denver; two daughters. Mrs. Joyce Littlejohn and Mrs. Janice Doss, both of Modesto, Calif.; three brothers. Jay Prentice of Laird, Harold Prentice of West Bend, Ind., and Earl Prentice of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Zella Duckworth of Huntington Park, Calif., and Miss Margaret Prentice, an overseas missionary; and seven grandchildren.

Prentice residence six miles north of Waverly and 16 miles north of Schramm.

cattle, machinery, chickens, household goods, etc., will be disposed of at
auction. The Ladies Aid will serve lunch. The terms of the sale will be
cash. The big sale ad appears in another part, of the Rattler this week. Don’t

Indianapolis Manufacturing Plant for 22 years, retiring in 1988.
Previously she had been a registered nurse at Allison Transmission Division of General Motors
Corp. four years. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plainfield First Baptist Church,
of which she was a member. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hampton-Gentry
Funeral Home, Plainfield, and from 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.

"Enos E. Shumaker, 81, Plainfield, died March 5, 2003. He worked in the delivery department 44 years for L.S. Ayres and Co., retiring in 1986. Mr. Shumaker was a Marine veteran of World War II. He was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Plainfield, Plainfield Masonic Lodge 653 and Indianapolis Scottish Rite. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or American Cancer Society. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday. March 8 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 7. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Prentice Shumaker. Survivors include his sons, Ronald E. Shumaker, Clayton, Steven L. Shumaker, Plainfield, Kevin E. Shumaker, Beech Grove; daughter Deborah E. "Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Marie Prentice, age 89, who passed away on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at her residence in Blairsville.
Mrs. Prentice was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Carl White and the late Jennie Crosley White. She had been living in Blairsville since 1992, moving here from Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County, and the Union General Hospital Auxiliary. She was lovingly known as "Grams" by her family. Her husband, Robert E. Prentice, passed away in 1999.
She is survived by her family members: daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Roxbury;
son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sally Prentice;
son and daughter-in-law, James and Leonda Prentice;
and son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Leora Prentice;
Ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren also survive.

Ruth I. Duncan, age 86, of Cloverdale, went to be with the Lord Tuesday,
November 13th, 2018. She was born in Laird, Colorado to the late Harold O.
and Fern E. (Dunagan) Prentice. She married Clyde Lee Paris June of 1951 and
he preceded her in death. She then married William Robert Duncan December of
1966 and he preceded her in death. She was a registered nurse for Owen
County Schools for over twenty years and a member of the Millgrove Methodist
Church.
She is survived by her children, Pamela J. Hodges and husband Kenneth,
Kathie Bigos and husband Jerry, and Warren P. Duncan and wife Samantha; 10
grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister in law Juanita White
Prentice.
Garold Lee Paris, 60, Quincy, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born April 29, 1952 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Clyde Lee and Ruth I. (Prentice) Paris.
He was married to Sherry Ann Dean on Sept. 10, 1977, and she survives.
He is also survived by his sons, Aaron Paris and wife Syble and Benjamin Paris
and wife Randi; his mother, Ruth I. Paris Duncan;
his sisters, Pamela Hodges and husband Kenny and Kathie Bigos and husband Jerry;
his brother Warren Duncan and wife Char; and his grandchildren, Avery Paris, Addison Paris and Liam Paris.
He was a retired truck driver for Roadway.
He was a member of the Millgrove United Methodist Church and Teamsters Local 135, Indianapolis.
He had been a Cub Scout leader and a coach for the Cloverdale Youth Baseball League.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 at Millgrove United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 16 at Millgrove United Methodist Church, 11151 Millgrove Rd., Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Arthur Paris; his father, Clyde Lee Paris; his sister, Regina Jo Suttle; and his stepfather, William Robert Duncan.
