"Kaktus Flats " neighborhood-
"Several new settlers have located in this locality
recently; among them is George Collins,
a butcher by trade, who has been working for the B. & M. railroad company this summer
; but as railroad work has been postponed until next
spring, Mr. Collins proposes to secure a piece
of Uncle Sam's good soil in the mean time."
George cash-claimed a quarter in 21, 5N 46W in 1891, and another in section 22, also in 1891.
George held the property until 1901 when the John Felderman famlily acquired the property for $5.78 in back taxes. In 1906 they took up residence on the parcel.
