Thomas, James and Elizabeth Burke

This is Elizabeth and her husband Seborn Elliott
I
James Burke - Elizabeth's younger brother - claimed a quarter adjoining Seborn's the same year - 1891. James had married  Manervia (sic) Hull in Leclerc County Missouri October 17, 1884, (father Jno. S. Hull and  mother Lorinda Hull have given their consent to said marriage) and in census 1900-1910-1920- they are back in Macon County Missouri.  One census said Maude 1888 was born in Colorado, but Lily - born in 1889 - was in Missouri .  So Minerva, at least, was in Colorado in 1888 and back home in 1889.

In 1910 James is a cleaner for a coach - must be for the street-cars or railroad
In 1920 James at 62 was a track man for a street-car company.

NEW CAMBRIA LEADER, New Cambria, Missouri, Friday, Aug. 7, 1959
HOMER J. BURK RITES WEDNESDAY AT NEW CAMBRIA
Funeral services for Homer J. Burk, 70, who died Sunday, Aug. 2 at his home in New Cambria, were held at the United Church of New Cambria. Burial was in the New Cambria Cemetery.
The body was taken to the Gilleland Funeral Home where it remained until the hour of service.
Mr. Burk was born Apr. 8, 1889, north of Callao, the son of James Ruben and Alice M. (Harrison) Burk. He had lived in the Callao and New Cambria communities most of his life and had retired from farming and moved to New Cambria twelve years ago. He had served on the New Cambria Board of Education for a number of years.
He was a member of the Christian Church at Keota.
He was married Oct. 20, 1909 to Ada Lea, who survives and to this union eight children were born.
Mr. Burk had been preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; and one granddaughter, Linda Braxton.
In addition to his wife of the home, he leaves eight children, Mrs. Grace Braxton of Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Lois Barron of San Pedro, California, Mrs. Aletha Adams of Prairie Village, Kansas, Mrs. Marie Turner of Moberly, Howard of Bevier, and Mrs. Ruby Gibson, DeWayne and J.W., all of New Cambria; one sister, Mrs. Belva Holman of Ellensburg, Washington; three brothers, Montie and Marion of Callao, and Armel of Macon; and fifteen grandchildren.

Thomas Burke was in the same census page in 1910 - Thomas 48, Anna E. 42, Sylvester J. 19 Claude E. 16, Garrett 12, Rolla M. 6 and Rutha J. 1 .  Rolla was born in Nebraska, Rutha in Colorado.
Thomas was also a brother-in-law of Seborn's - and Anna was a Herbaugh girl.
Here's Anna in 1908 at a funeral in Ravenna, Nebraska
Thomas Burk was a witness for a neighbor's land claim in 1908, so he was in Yuma County then.
Later census - even up to 1940 -  have Thomas and Anna back in Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri.  There were in-law's - females named Wall - living with them, and one was the informant on the death certificate of Thomas H. Burke dying March 16, 1951.  He was widowed, born March 20, 1864 in Adams, Ohio to Thomas Burke and Mary Carroll (and said his spouse was HANNA).
Anna' Burke's death certificate in Chillicothe said she was born November 4, 1866 in Livingston County to Walter Wall and Mary Casey, and died May 4, 1947.

The John S. Burke who registered for WWI in next-door-Phillips County, born January 14, 1891 in Hazard, Nebraska is probably the census Sylvester J.  He said he was married.  So he's the John S. Burke , age 25, marrying Dora Splithof (sic) 18 in Holyoke, Colorado November 20, 1916, by S.S. Worley, county judge.
In 1920 Logan County (right next to Phillips and Yuma) John S. is married to Dora J. 21.  They have Nora E. 2 and Hilda 3. four months.

In 1930 they're in Douglas County, Oregon.  Dora was born in Germany, Nora, Hilda, and Donald 8, all born in Colorado.  John doesn't have an occupation.

Burke in Magee Precinct in 1910 was most likely Elizabeth Seborn's nephew (and also nephew of James Burke).  He was 38, born Missouri , married to Lulu M. 25, and they have John M. 4 and Alvin %R two months.  In 1940 William and Lulu are in Kingfisher County, Ohlahoma with Frankie 20 and Billy 13.  William is buried there.

Rella Owen, in 1930 Douglas County Missouri married to Charles Owen, is a likely one.  They have Mary L. 7 , Robert 6, and Alfred 4.
