Maybe a relative of the 1903 Yuma "Mrs. Robert Boyd and Mrs. Leopold Korf left Sunday evening for La Harp, Ill, where they were called to the bedside of their sick mother."
1909 Yuma "Robert Boyd, an old-time Yuma resident, was up from Trenton, Neb., this week on a visit with his friends and reltives. Two weeks ago he returned from Cuba where he is interested in a large body of land..."

1940 Greeley "Mrs. Leona Marcellus spent several days last week in Denver with her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Sams and family."

Lewis A. and Leona are both buried in Hudson.
July 6, 1939 "Mrs. Lonnie Marcellus of Hudson arrived Friday to be at the bedside of her aged mother, Mrs. C. Ford."
"Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ford of Loveland arrived Sunday to help care for the former's mother."

June 3, 1910 "Lee Boyd and Leslie Ford have gone to Lamar to build a large barn and there are some lonely people near Ford at present."

Robert Lee Boyd registered for WWI with a Haxtun, Colorado address, born March 25, 1886, a well driller, nearest relatie Esta May Boyd of Haxtun.

In 1920 Robert - a blacksmith - and Esta are in Phillips County, Colorado, with Neva 7, Robert M. 5, Lewis E. 3, Ardith (Elizabeth?) J. 2, and Ralph M. two months. On the same page is George M. Boyd, 22, born i Nebraska, with his wife and two kids.
George had registered for WWI in Fleming Colorado, a drayman, married to Tena.

In 1930 Denver, Charles G. Croy is 35, Esta 37, with Norma J. ten months. Esta's son Lee Temple is 2 born in Colorado.
In 1940 Humboldt County, California, Charles Croy is 46, born in Iowa, Esta 47 Colorado. Lee 12, and Norma 10 were born in Colorado, Lyle 8 in Iowa and Donna 5 in Omaha.
Esta M. Croy, born June 9, 1892, died April 25, 1962 in Humboldt County, California, mother's maiden name Ford.

Ardith Boyd is in Weld County in 1930, age 12, with her uncle Roy Marcellus 41, his wife Helen 21 and two kids.
Lois Evelyn Croy, born Mar 23, 1916 in Colorado, died Aug 22, 1986 in Humboldt County - father BOyd, mother Marcellus.

Charles Glenn Croy of 2448 Beachwood Drive died on Wednesday night Nov 27, 1957, as the result of an automobile accident near Laytonville. He was born in Audubon County, Iowa, on August 19, 1893. He was a retired woodsman and had made his home in Humboldt County for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Esta M. Croy of Eureka; children, Mrs. Neva Mangel of San Francisco; Mrs. Lois Bartholomew of San Francisco, Lee Temple of the U.S. Navy in Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Norman Lee of Eureka, Lyle Croy of the U.S. Air Force in Tifton, Ga., Mrs. Donna Ford of Eureka; two brothers, Albert Croy of Smith River and Emmett Eugene Croy of Cloverdale; three sisters, Mrs. Imo Pearson of Vallejo, Mrs. Marie Gray of North Dakota and Mrs. Viola Rosenbloom of Portland, Ore.; 24 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.


Eureka resident Donna Mae Damme passed away in Eureka on December 9, 2005, at the age of 70 after a lengthy illness. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Donna was the youngest of 13 children born to Charles Croy and Esta May Marcellus, arriving on December 29, 1934. She moved to California in 1935 with her parents and graduated Fortuna High School in 1949.
She married Robert Ford in 1950 and they had four children: Deborah Jean, Terry Duane, Rebecca Ann and Cynde Marie. Donna and Robert established residence in Eureka where they reared their children. She worked for General Hospital and was later well known for her involvement in the founding and management of the Telephone Employees Credit Union (now known as Patelco Credit Union) where she was the only employee and ran the operation out of her home office for many years. After leaving the credit union, she joined Mad River Community Hospital where she spent 24 years in the personnel department. She retired in 1995.
Donna valued the many friendships that she made along the way, especially with Nellie Spears, Jackie O’Brien, Charlene Pellatz and Jim and Jen Mason. She also adored her animal companions Buttons and Boots. She loved window-shopping and going to yard sales. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful yard that she adorned with treasures that she had discovered in her yard-sale foraging and painted or otherwise rehabilitated. Donna loved to cook and amassed quite a collection of cookbooks. She especially enjoyed playing cards. Volunteering was important to Donna and in her retirement she enjoyed contributing her talents to the American Cancer Society, Dixieland Jazz Festival, Humboldt Sr. Resource Center and Volunteer Center of the Redwoods. She also provided companionship to many a local senior citizen while volunteering with Humboldt Home Health Care.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Esta May Croy; brothers, Lyle Croy, Lee Temple, Mel Croy; sisters, Neva Croy, Lois Croy; and husbands, Robert Ford and George Damme.
She is survived by her sister, Norma Morrison of Lebanon, Oregon; daughters, Deborah Goff of Eureka, Cynde Cudney of Chico, and Rebecca Moser of Lexington, Kentucky; son, Terry Ford of Marin County; grandchildren, Michelle Losh, Charles Gay, Jason Howard, Kevin Glisson, Christopher Glisson, Tanya Glisson, Terry Ford, Jr., Robert Ford, Shawn Cudney and Melissa Cudney; and great grandchildren, Sadie Losh, Kristen Gay, Maranda Beal, Nathaniel Beal, Annaelyse Donovan, Gaige Donovan, Aiden Donovan, Dallas Ford, Lillianna Ford, Paige Glisson, Karalynn Glisson and Genevieve Glisson.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 14th at 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Committal services will be conducted cryptside at Sunset Memorial Park in Eureka on Wednesday, December 14th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Galovich officiating. FindaGrave # 66839652

Norma Joy Burdick, age 78, of Lebanon, Oregon, passed away at home January 26, 2008, from complications due to Leukemia. Her family was by her side.Norma was born in Denver, Colorado, on June 06, 1929, to Esta May (Marcellus) and Charles Glenn Croy. Her and her family moved to Fortuna, CA, in 1936. Norma has been a resident of Lebanon, OR, since 1988.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Esta May and Charles Glenn Croy; her late husband, Andrew Burdick; her brothers, Ivan Boyd, Lyle Croy, Melvin Boyd, Lee Temple; her sisters, Ardith Boyd, Neva Mangel, Lois Croy and Donna Damme.
Norma also leaves behind six children, Robert C. Lee of Lebanon, Oregon, James Samuel Lee of Lebanon, Oregon, Bonnie Perkett of Eureka, Calif., Mary Deanna Hunt of Carlotta, Calif., Betty Barker of Lebanon, Oregon, and Charles Arthur Parsons of Vancouver, Washington. Norma was so proud of all of her grandchildren.
She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
At her request, no services will be held.

Simon P. Boyd registered for WWI with an address of Haxtun, Colorado, born Nov 6, 1894 at Palisade, Nebraska, farming, single.
Simon 1893-1978 is buried in Canon City # 35572037, with Edna 1899-1967.

VERA EDNA
1914 "Miss Lena Leuch, of Trenton , Nebr., wh had bee the guest of Mis Vera Boyd, at Ford, for a couple of weeks, left for Brush Tuesday to visit with a brother."

Vera Edna Boyd married J. M. Pederson April 23, 1917, recorded in Phillips County.
Lloyd Lydell Pedersen was born Feb 23, 1919 at Fleming Colorado to John M. Pedersen and Vera E. Boyd. He's buried in Whittier California 1919-1988 # 122559359.


Vera is married to John M. Pederson in 1930 Logan County, 33, with June 12 and Lloyd 11.

George M. Boyd is in Phillips County in 1920, 22, with Dena M. 32, Robert 1, and Dale B . two months. He's working at a grain elevator.
George Michael Boyd, per the California death index, was born July 7, 1887, dying June 28, 1987 in Humboldt County, mother's maiden name Murphy.

Susie V. Pope is in Yuma County in 1920, 19, married to Cecil W. Pope 23 Missouri.
August 1928 "Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Pope motored to Burns, Wyoming Saturday where Mrs. Pope's sister was at the Burns Hospital; having had a major operation.
In 1930 Yuma County, Cecil is 33, farming, Susie 29, Raymond G. 9, Harold F. 8, and Virginia M. 5. From the neighbors, they're near Wages.
They're living on Hoag Avenue in 1940 Yuma, with just Harold 18 - a pin-setter in a bowling alley -and Virginia 15. Next door is Lydia Pope, 71 widoewd, born in Iowa.

August 8, 1928 "Warren Pope had the misfortune to hurt his leg very severely workin gin the harvest field last week. The report is that a combine ran over him. At present he is able to get around on crutches."
