One tree said he homesteaded 1887 in Yuma Colorado for one year then returned to Nebraska
BEDEA, GEORGE EMERY: Farmer, b Livingston Co, Ill Jan 19, 1865: s of Benjamin Bedea-Martha G Crossman; ed Pawnee Co; Table Rock; Omaha Bus Coll 1886; m May N Becker Feb 21, 1894 Table Rock (dec 1938); s George Howard; reared on farm in Ill, came to Pawnee Co in Feb 1882; 1887-88 homesteaded, Yuma Co, Colo; 1888- farmed near Table Rock except one year (1889-90) spent in Louisiana; has occupied present home & farm since 1894; 20 years VP State Bank of Table Rock; past mbr AOUW; Meth Ch, trustee 30 years; wife active in church work; Rep; res RFD, Table Rock.
 
1900 Pawnee County NE George, born January 1865 in Illinois, has bee  married six years to May N. born January 1865 in California.  He's a farmer, and they have the same location in 1910.
 
 
1904 G.E. Bedea three miles east of Table Rock Nebraska “had two valuable horses killed by lightning.”
November 1906 George was delinquent on his taxes $2.10
 

1930 Pawnee, George and Mae are both 65, but they have Geo H. Beda 14 – adopted son

 
May N Jan 11, 1865 – Oct 12, 1938 In Pawnee City Cemetery.
George Emery Jan 19, 1865 – Jan 13, 1955 is also there.

 

Benjamin Bedea June 10 1830 – July 27, 1906 is also there.  One poster said Benjamin's wife Martha CROSSMAN Bedea died in Alberta Canada in 1906 - son Walter had moved there.

 

1892 “Walter M. Bedea, aged twenty-three, living three miles south of Pawnee City, took a does of laudanum.  His intention was to commit suicide, but heroic measures prevented it and his life was saved. A report is current that opposition to a prospective marriage was at the bottom of the affair.”
 
1906 July 30 “TABLE ROCK Benjamin Bedea, who has resided in Pawnee county for twenty-four years past, died at his residence seven miles wouthwest of Pawnee City, at the age of 76 years.  Mr. Bedea was a delegate to the state republican convention held at Lincoln in May 1904, and while there was taken ill and has been practically confined to the house ever since.”
 
1913 Mae elected president of the county W.C.T.U.
