Adam D. and Marie (Blattner) Young, Bryant



In 1880 Clay County, Nebraska, J. Y. Young is 30, Minnie (Lindsey) 23, Lulu 5, A.F. 3, and E. J. nine months old.

In 1885 Lancaster County, Nebraska, James J. Young is 33, Minnie 28, Lulu 11, ADAM 8, EDITH 5, Herbert 3, and Della 2.

James J. Young and Minerva Lindsley had married September 11, 18733 in Whiteside County, Illinois.

Minnie R. Young, daughter of David and Margaret Lindsley, married Arthur T. Moore on January 22, 1896 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

In 1900 Chicago, Minnie, born May 1852, and Arthur May 1867 born in Wisconsin, have Herbert J. Young born Dec 1881 iand Richard Young January 1888 , both born in Nebraska.

Mary J. Blattner, 21, and Adam D. Young, 22, married in Chicago on January 14, 1900.

In 1900 Chicago, Adam is a waiter, born July 1876 in Nebraska, with Mary March 1878 Illinois. Her sister Lizzie Blattner Feb 1875 is with them.

April 2, 1909
April 23, 1909 "Mrs. A. D. Young returned Saturday from Chicago where she accompanied the remains of her brother for burial.

June 11, 1909 "A.D. Young was courting in Holyoke last week."

In 1910 Yuma County, Fred Crossley is farming 37, born in Indiana (WRONG), with Edith J. 31, Nebraska. Fred 12, Allen 10, and J 8 wee bon in Missouri, Heleen 2 in Colordo.
They're next to Adam D. Young 33 married eleven years to Marie J. 32, both born in Illinois.

Adam David Young was born July 29, 1876 in Rock Falls, Illinois.


Adam proved up two quarters in section 15, 5N 48W in 1915. His witnesses were Samuel I. Bird, John H. Bird, Charles Arnold, and Fredrik Nielsen, all of Bryant.

1913

Brewer Sawyer proved up a quarter in 17, 5N 48W in 1913.  Witnesses were Clarence E. Buzzell, Adam D. Young, William H. Buzzell, and John Bird, all of Bryant.


February 1914 "A.D. Young added a new billiard table to his popular pool room, takes his refreshments from an ice cream freezer."



April 1914 "J.F. Coleman and family came in from York, Nebraska, Sunday morning for a couple of days' visit at the home of his sister, Mrs. A.D. Young. The guests left Tuesday morning for Twin Falls, Idaho, whee they expect to make their home."

1914 "A. D. Young purchased this week the P.S. Jensen residence property, near the Yuma Automobile and Machine shop."

1914 "A.D. Young sold his billiard parlor to George Card this week, the latter taking possession Tuesday."

January 1915 Mr. and Mrs. Young went to Brush, purchasing the Owl Restaurant of M.D. Buckels."

March 1915 "Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Young came down from Brush Wednesday morning. Mr. Young has sold his restaurant business in Brush, and the family have returned to Yuma."
In 1916 A.D. Young was on the concessions committee of the Yuma County fair.

He was unsuccessful in the town of Yuma trustee election.

1917 "Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Huston left on the afternoon train Monday for their home at Geneva, Nebaraska, after a short visit with Mrs. Huston's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Ewqrt. While in Yuma Mr. Huston purchased the A.D. Young farm, northwest of town."

In 1920 Yuma, Adam is 43, with Marie J. 41, both born in Illinois, and Richard A. 7.

A.D. Young purchased the Dakan Drug Store from Ed H. Smith in 1920.

1923 "A.D. Young and L.E. Barr came over from Bridgeprot, Nebraska, and the former drove home in a new Willys-Knight automobile which he purchased from J. F. Heiserman ^ Son."

In 1930 Adam is proprietor of a drug store in Lovell, Wyoming, 53, married but no spouse, born in Illinois.

Richard, 17, is a roomer in Bridgeport, Nebraska, living with Johna nd Myrtle taylor, both born in Nebraska.

(in 1934 he might be cutting meat in a Los Angeles butcher shop.)

In 1940 Los Angeles County, Adam is a butcher, 63, married to Edna L. 35 born in Nebraska, with Myrna J. 8 born in Wyoming.

Adam is buried in Bridgeport, Nebraska 1876-1947 # 21615790, with Marie Josephine Blattner Young 1878-1929 # 21615824.

Richard Adam Young registered for WWII in Covina, California, unemployed, discharged from the Army, with his father A.D. Young as a reference.

Myrna J. Young, 20, married Kenneth F. Vogt on April 6, 1952 in Los Angeles.
They divorced in Orange County on July 26, 1984.
