In 1900 Denver, Samuel Yates is a grocer,
born January 1841 in England, with Emma Dec 1846 Massachusetts,
have Minnie L. Nov 1866, George S. a bookkeeper, Aug 1873,
Emery a farm laborer born April 1882, and May E. April 1884, all four born in Wisconsin.
1902 Racine, Wisconsin "Mrs. Edward Zahn, 1022 Wisconsin street,
entertained a few friends this afternoon in honor of Miss Minnie Yates, of Denver, Colo. "
In 1910 Denver, Samuel is widowed, 69, Minnie 43 no occupation George 37 and Rugh 28 born in Missouri are married.

Emery is farming in 1910 Washington County, Colorado, living alone, 28, born inWisconsin.
Emery Yates and Phebe McIntosh married in Colorado on May 31, 1923.
July 6, 1923 Brush Tribune "Saturday evening a crowd of the older people senanaded Mr. and Mrs. Emery Yates to the music of sleighbells, horns, tin pans and other musical instruments. Mr. Yates invited them in and all spent a very pleasant evening. Mrs. Yates, who is an accomplished musician, played several selections on the piano, which
were enjoyed by everyone. "
