Frank proved up on two quarters in 5N 48W in 1915 - right on the county line.

F. TUTHILL DEAD FOLLOWING STROKE
Frank Tuthill, 62, one of the earlier settlers in this section died at the
Haxtun Hospital Tuesday morning following an illness of several weeks. Mr.
Tuthill had been in the hospital for some time and on last Friday suffered a
paralytic stroke from which he never fully recovered.
Mr. Tuthill first came to the Haxtun community in 1909 from Kansas and settled
on a farm south of Haxtun where he lived until about 12 years ago when he left
the farm to work in Haxtun as a painter and paper hanger.
He was married in June 1906 to Miss Carrie (tombstone in Rearnsville,
Smith County, Kansas has CASSIE born 1881, dying 1908) L. Norton in Kansas.
There was born to them one son, Granville, who survives. Mrs. Tuthill died in
May 1908 and the son was reared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Marvin, of
Franklin, Nebraska.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 o’clock this afternoon from the Radford
Funeral Home. The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. I.C. Snavely, pastor
of the Church of the Brethren. Interment was in the Haxtun cemetery.
In 1880 Republic County Kansas a Frank Tuthill is living with parents James. G. 63 and Amanda M. 47 Tuthill. (James G. Amanda, and a son John are buried in the Union Cemetery there)
A Frank N. Tuthill is a laborer on the railroad in Smith County, Kansas in 1900, born June 1869 in Kansas, and is single.
In 1910 "Grenvil" Tuthill, 2 is the adopted son of Alfred W. 40 and Mirtle 27 Marvin in Rockland, Logan County (possibly only five miles from Frank's claim)
In 1920 and 1930 Alfred and Myrtle and Granville are back in Franklin County, Nebraska. In 1940 Franklin County Granville is an electrician, married to Beth, 27, and has three-month-old Janine. Beth's sisters wee Irene (Orville) Swenson of Emmett and Estelle (Dean) Ireland of Cle Elum, Washington, brother Art Ruyle of Sandpoint Idaho. One post has Cressie Beth Ruyle born 1912 to Arthur Henry Ruyle and Francis Emma Akin.
The stone in Riverside Cemetery, Gem County, has Granville F. Marvin Jan 25, 1908 - Mar 17, 1982, married May 27, 1933, C. Beth Feb 9, 1913 - July 2, 2002.

He was delinquent on taxes for his two quarters in 1923
In 1930 he's in Haxtun, a laborer. With him is Susan Adams, 67, widowed, "servant"
| Gary Duane Marvin was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Emmett, Idaho, to
Granville and Beth Marvin. Gary attended school in Emmett and while in high school he worked for Keith Bacon at the Chevron Station. He was active in the Methodist Church youth group and choir. He married Beverly Russell in February 1966. Three children were born from their marriage of nine years. Gary moved to Renton, Wash., in 1966 where he worked for Boeing, missing his family and home town, he moved back to Emmett in 1967. He worked in the lumber industry for Hoff Lumber in Horseshoe Bend. He loved fishing, playing guitar and having jam sessions with his friends. In 1968 he moved to the Oregon Coast to pursue a job in the fishing industry. Gary was primarily responsible for the formula for expanding the fish eggs to be used for bait. He worked in the fishing industry in Astoria and Port Angleles, Ore., as well as Seattle and Tacoma, Wash. He moved back to Emmett where he resided until his death. Gary is survived by his three children, Christina Lopez, Melanie Leatham and Gregory Marvin of Boise. Gary has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Janine Watkins; and two nephews, Brent and Kevin Watkins of Boise. Gary will be missed by all who knew and loved him. If you would like to honor Gary the family suggests a donation to PALs animal shelter in Emmett as he had a deep love for animals. A special thank you to Steve Wyant for being a dear friend to Gary for many years.
