Fred Rigby, James H. Rigby

Dora Braymer was born August 23, 1870 in Cass, Michigan to Ira L. and Sarah Braymer

In 1860 James H. Rigby, 7 is with N.R. and Mary Rigby in Steuben Ounty, Indiana.

In 1900 Lancaster County, Nebraska James Rigby, born 1853 in Indiana, has been married 14 years to Dora, August 1870 in Michigan.  They have Edith H., born June 1888 in Iowa, Frederick April 1890 in Iowa, and Lillian October 1892 in Iowa.

March 22, 1907 "Mr. Rigby and Mr. Mulder of College VIew, Neb., arrived this week with their cars."  (these were railroad cars filled with possessions, certainly)

1909

1909 "J. Rigby is away on a business trip to Lincokn, Nebraska"

In 1910 north Yuma County are James  "Rigsby" and Dora and those four, plus Violet J. 3, born in Nebraska.

August 1914 "Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Rigby, of northeast of town, went up to Denver Monday to attend the camp meeting of the Seventh Day Adventists."

Fred cash-claimed a quarter in 23, 5N 47W in 1915, and James H. proved u a quarter in section 15 - two miles northwest of Fred.

Fred Murl Rigby registered for WWI - giving an address of "Haxton" - and that he was single,  born in Forest City Iowa April 4, 1890

California records have a Winifred L. Clark marrying Fred M. Rigby in 1917 in San Diego.

In 1920 he's married to "Winnfred L." 31, born in Indiana.

The Denver 1929 directory has Fred M. Rigby (Winnifred L.) driver, living at 1245 Glenarm.

They're back in Yuma County in 1930,  Fred M., Winnifred L., and Fred M. 6.

In 1934 Fred has moved - he's 23-6N-46  about ten miles northeast - in Phillips County.

In 1937 Yuma Rigby, F. M. (w) Winnfred - 605 South Main, Laborer,     (Fred M. Jr.).

In 1940 Winnifred is a waitress in a lunch room in Yuma - says she's married, but no spouse listed.  Fred Jr. 16 and she live at 605 South Main.

Winnifred L. Rigby is in the California death index as born August 6, 1888 i Indiana, mother's maiden name Sands, dying March 1, 1965 in San Diego.

Fred Murl Rigby, born Feb 15, 1923 in Colorado, died February 17, 1996 in San Diego - mother's maiden name Clark

 

In 1920 Yuma County James at 66, and Dora at 55 have Violet , plus son Orville, 10

In 1930 Lane County, Oregon are James H. "Rigsby" 76 and Dora 59. - and Oregon death index has him dying September 26, 1932 in Lane County.

California death index has a Dora Jane Rigby born in Michigan August 23, 1870, dying in Los Angeles - mother's maiden name Barnhardt, father's surname Bramer.  Dora Jane is buried in Silk Creek Cemetery, Lane County.

1909  Ethel Rigby and George Turner were among the dozen "writing the teachers' examination being held in the school building by County Superintendent Weekly"

Edith Rigby married George H. Turner December 25, 1911

George H . Turner homesteaded two quarters in 5N 48W in 1915 - and William A Turner in 1894  - that's about five miles from  the Rigby place.  In 1900 William A., 37 and Mattie B. 33 have George H. 14, Fred E. 13, Edard R. 10, John W. 7, Rosa M. 5, and William A. 3.'

In 1910, on the same page as his parents, George is living alone.

In 1920 Los Angeles George H. 33 and Edith A. 32, have Glen 7 and Ruby 4.

George born April 28,1886 in Burlington Iowa, dying July 19, 1967 in Los Angeles County, and Edith Adelle Turner  born June 15, 1887 in Sac County, Iowa, dying September 7, 1978 in VBentura Count, are buried in rand View Memorial Park, Glendale, California.

Glen Fred Turner, born January 4, 1913 in Yuma County, died September 25, 2012 in Riverside County, California.

Carl Otho "Earl" Turner born September 28, 1921 in Boulder, Colorado, died August 17, 2001 in Los Angeles County, buried Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

In 1940 Ruby A. Fewell is 24, born in Colorado, married to Russell W. Fewell, 27, born in California - Russell is a "die and tool maker" (the line above has a Roy turner, 23, born in Loveland, Colorado - maybe a cousin ?)

 

82243566 is probably a daughter of Ruby.

In January 1915, Lillian Rigby was paid $100 by Yuma County for "caring for Hotalling family"

Lillian M. Rigby married William I. Sharpuack April 17, 1915

Mary 1915 "Mrs. Lily Sharpmack arrived from Boulder Tuesday and is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Rigby, north of town."

In 1940 Orville is a "timber faller" in Lane County, Oregon, and in the 1990's was married to Bea, living in Thompson Falls, Montana.

Orville James Rigby died March 27, 2000 in Sanders County, Montana, age 89.
