Yuma County Pioneer Photographs:

Gina Monsen, Daniel Monson, Axel Munson, John Fred Monson

Gina cash-claimed a quarter in 4, 5N 47W in 1891 - a mile from the Phillips County line.

Almost has to be related to the Daniel MonsOn who cash-claimed in 11, 5N 48W in 1891,  Daniel's claim would be about two miles from Gina's.

or the John Fred Monson in 1890 - and a timber claim in 1894 in  8N 44W (near Holyoke).  John was involved in a court case in 1906 regarding title to that land.  The case was mainly dealing with the different pronunciations of Munson/Monson and whether he was J. Fred or John F. Monson.

Ransom and Julia Munson (Julia a native of Franklin, New York) - Ransom died in 1871.  They  had John F. Munson , a resident of Denver and Mary Munson, who was with Julia and her husband Isaac W. Wilson in 1907 in Iroquois County, Illinois. But this is probably not ours - one tree said he was John FOLLETT Munson.

December 2, 1896 - AT BRYANT -Axel Munson of Bryant married Mrs. Mary Nilson of Bryant - witnesses A.J..  and Mrs. A.J. Anderson. - minister C.M. Youngquist?  of Holdrege, Phelps County (that's Nebraska, about a hundred miles east)
