Kathryn (Kief)(Kilcoin) Mahoney, Bryant


In 1870 Oxford, Johnson County, Iowa, Catherine Kief is 4, with Dennis 48 and Catherine 31, both born in Ireland. Mary is 10, Margaret 7, Catherine 4, and John 2 all born in Iowa.

In 1880 Oxford, Dennis is 49, Catherine 42, still farming. Margaret 17, Katie 14, John 11, Michael 9m anbd Ellen 6.

Katie "Keefe", 19, daughter of Dennis Keefe and Kate Lynch, married John Mahoney, 23 on September 28, 1884 in Oxford, Iowa. He as the son of John Mahoney and Margaret Collins.

In 1895 Crawford County, Iowa, Kate A. Mahoney is 29, born in Johnson County, with May Mahoney 9 also born in Johnson County. Maggie 9, Kate, 4, and John 2 were born in Crawford County. Ella Keef 22, was born in Johnson County.

Mrs. Katherine Mahoney, born at Oxford, Iowa to Dennis Keefer and Catherine Brown, married Michael Kitcoin, 30, of Manilla, Iowa on December 17, 1898 in Crawford County, Iowa.

In 1900 Crawford County, Matt is 30, running a hotel, with Catherine A. born July 1865 in Iowa. May Mahoney May 1886, Maggie Nov 1888, Katie March 1891, and John August 1892 were all born in Iowa.

July 1901 Manilla, Iowa "Mrs. Kilcoin enjoyed a visit from her sister, from ClintonCo. several days the past wek."

December 1901 Manilla, Iowa "Quite a number from this place went to Denison Wednesday to act as witnesses on the Bird vs. Kilcoin case."

1903 "Kilcoin of Manilla has been sentenced to 30 days in the county jail for drunkenness adn disordrly conduct. He got on a 'tear', knocked over a stove and raised Ned generally. Thirty days with Sheriff Bell ought to do him good."

May 1907 Yuma "We are informed that Mrs. Mahoney has relinquished her homestead rights at Yuma Colo., and will devote her time to her store interests. Manilla (Iowa) Times. Manilla people have evidently been misinformed."

July 1907 Yuma "Our typo, Miss Mahoney, having moved out on the homestead we are the devil proper"

March 1908 "Mrs. Mahoney and son, who have spent the winter at Sterling, are again residing on the ranch."

June 1909 Yuma "After visiting a week among her many friends in Yuma, Mrs. Mahoney has returned home"

September 1909 "Johnnie Mahoney is expected home from Denver Saturday."

In 1910 Yuma County, Kate Mahoney is widowed, 44, born in Iowa, farming. She's had four kids, three living. Margaret 22 and Katie 20 were born in Iowa.

Kathryn proved up a quarter in section 22, 5N 48W in 1913.

"Claimant names as witnesses; Ola Hanson, John H. Bird and Samuel I. Bird, all three of Bryant, Colorado, and Charles Arnold, of Yuma, Colorado.
October 1914 "Miss Katie Mahoney, who had been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Chns. Henning, for a couple of weeks, left yesterdayfor Denver. "

Kathryn was delinquent on taxes for that land in 1914.

MARGARET

Charles Henning is in Yuma in 1910, 34, widowed, born in Illinois, a carpenter.

May 1, 1914

Charles registered for WWI in Haxtun, born May 2, 1876, a carpenter, with his nearest relative Mrs. Margaret Henning of Globe, Arizona.

Charles is in Haxtun, Colorado in 1920, a carpenter, married, 42, but no spouse.

Charles is in Denver in 1930, widowed, a carpenter, in a boarding house on Larimer Street.

He's buried in Yuma 1876-1940 # 50790492.
"Married to Trena Agnes Haff 9 Mar 1898 -- Daughter Anna Luella Henning"

Mrs. Margaret Henning is living at 161 E. Mesquite, Globe, Arizona in 1923.

Possibly she's the Margaret Mahoney, 37, born in Iowa, a chamber maid, who died of gas - ruled suicide - on April 9, 1926 in San Francisco. She lived at 3377 26th Street. One witness at the inquest was J. J. Mahoney of 16th and Valencia.

KATIE

December 1924 Globe Arizona " Ivan Ealsch, 24, and Kathleen Trayes, 27, of Globe."

In 1930 Globe, Ivan is a carpenter, 27, born in New Mexico, with Kathlyn 24 born in Iowa.

Kathleen Mae Ealsch was born at Manilla, Iowa on March 25, 1890 to John H. Mahoney and Kathleen A. "Okilf" (applying for a delayed birth certificate.)


1935 "When L. H. Castle, Globe garage man, goes after a wrecked automobile, that isn't news. But when damaged machine rolls into his shop, that's news. All of which brings this story: While driving a small truck on North Hill street. Glob. Ivan Ealsch of that city wanted to turn the vehicle around. Ho drove beyond the corner of Hill and Bailey streets overlooking the rear of several business establishments on North Broad street. - When he backed, unfortunately for him, he backed tee far. Ealsch and truck went over the steep bank. The truck turned over a couple of times and landed at the rear entrance of Castle's garage. Ealsch, slightly bruised, climbed out and announced. "Here's a car for you to work on!"

In 1942 she was living in Prescott, Arizona, applying for a delayed birth certificate.

August 2, 1945 Wickenburg, Arizona " Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning for MRS. KATHLEEN MAHONEY EALSCH, a resident of Wickenburg for the past several years, who died early Friday morning at her residence from an attack of bronchial pneumonia.
Services were conducted by Rev. L. J. SULLIVAN of St. Anthony's church. Mrs. Ealsch had been employed for the part three years at Ted's Cafe and was well known by her nickname, "Mickey."
She is survived by her husband, Ivan, also of Wickenburg and a brother who was recently liberated from a Jap prison camp in the Philippine Islands. Burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery. "

The death certificate says she was born March 24, 1893 in Marengo Iowa to A. Mahoney of Marengo and Mary O. "Hgibb" born in Manilla Iowa.

Ivan Ealsch 1897-1945 is buried in Wickenburg, with Kathleen May Ealsch 1893-1945 # 12235007.


JOHN

1909 Yuma "Earl Webb and John Mahoney are in Denver for the fair."

John Mahoney and Mary Patraski had John J. Mahoney on November 9, 1924 in San Francisco. He died October 25, 1998.
He's buried in Napa, 1924-1998, # 134219763, with Alberta (Gruening) Mahoney 1927-1985.


John J. Mahoney, born at Manilla, Iowa on AUgust 17, 1892, registered for WWI in Santa Ana California, working for the Southern California ASugar Company, with a dependent wife.

In 1930 San Francisco, John is 37, a sugar boiler, with Mary 29 born in New York. Jackie is 5, born in California.
John J. Mahoney registered for WWII in Vallejo, California, born August 17, 1892 at Manilla, Iowa.

April 9, 1945 " Four Arizonians recently liberated in the Philippines will arrive here soon by boat. They are .... John J. Mahoney, 52, whose next of kin was listed as Mrs. Kathleen Mahoney Ealsch, Wickenburg."

John J. Mahoney, 58, arrived from Manila, Phillipines in San Francisco in 1951, living at 114 Coral Counrt, Napa, California.
