Dorene was born on 29 Apr 1938 in Escondido, CA to parents Evelyn Alice Tharp and Eugene Deputy.
She was a U. S. Navy wife from 1975 to 1989; the Ombudsman for the U.S.S. Robert E. Lee; Point Mugu MWR Chief's Club Manager; and Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Coronado Catering Manager.
She is preceded in death by her brother Eugene Deputy (Skipper).
She is survived by sister Lorene and Jack Garrett of Ramona, CA; sister-in-law Janet and Calvin Martin of El Segundo, CA; brother Dan Reams of Coeur d'Alene, ID; brother Ed Reams of Coeur d.Alene; Brother Richard Reams of Mission Viejo. Dorie was involved with the American Legion Post 684 where she
managed the food and beverage portion of the organization. She loved the Post and its members, and dedicated her life to it. Dorie also loved the beach, camping trips, bingo Burros Football and watching NASCAR.
She touched the lives of many people particularly service personnel, veterans and anyone in need. How appropriate that it was on 11-11-11, Veterans Day, a day to remember, that she passed away. She was a true patriot.
Dorie cherished spending time with her husband, dogs, family and friends. She liked to make others feel special, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all those touched by her love.
Her memorial service was held at American Legion Post 684. "
