Lena B. Watts Stephens, William Henry Stephens, Brownsville

In 1900 Callaway County, Missouri Samuel and Racia A. Gilbert have Ralph 14, Lena B. 13, BErtha E. 10, and Samuel 7.

She married Henry Watts Nov 22, 1904 in Polk County, Nebraska

In 1910 Hitchcock County Nebraska William H. Watts is 40, farming,  Missouri, Lena 21 Missouri.  They have Blanche 4 and Violet 2, both born in Nebraska.

In 1920 Blanche E. is in North Platte, rooming with the

1911 "Miss Lena Watts gave a dance at her home Saturday night.  All present report a fine time."

Lena proved up 320 acres in 25 and 26, 2S 47W in 1916. "Lena B. Stephens, widow of William H. Watts", witnesses William H. Stephens, Edwin Kline, John Van Buskirk, and Rose Van Buskirk.

One tree says that William H. Stephens and Anna Pittam, both born in England, had Walter, Daniel, and Henry in Wisconsin, that William died in the 1860's in Nebraska, and Anna died in 1903 in Johnson County, Nebraska.  There's a FindAGrave listing for Ann M. Stephens, dying March 11, 1903, "  77 y" in the Tecumseh cemetery, which would fit.  In the same plot is William (40) Stephens and William Henry Stephens, and "inf (William) Stephens" and "Ida E. Stephens (Daniel J)" and in another plot Walter Mortimer Stephens, Mary Alice Stephens, and Arthur LeRoy Stephens.

In 1870 Johnson County Anna is 43, with David 13, Walter 11, Alica 6, Henry 2, and Henryetta 2.

In 1880 Johnson County Ann STEVNS is 53, with Daniel 22, Walter 20, Alice 14, all three Wisconsin, and Henry 12, Nebraska.

One genforum post said Lula Mae Baker, born 1874 in Iowa to Matthew  born 1847 and Martha  born 1850 WISLON Baker

Lula May Baker, 19, born in Iowa, married William H. Stephens January 29, 1893 in Tecumseh, Johnson County, Nebraska.

In 1900 Johnson County Nebraska Henry Stephens, June 1865 Nebraska is married to Lulu, with Irene 6 and Zellma 1.  Lulu's brothers Ralph Baker 13 and Edward Baker 19 are with them.

Ann Stevens in 1900 Johnson County, born Dec 1826 in England, widowed, with son  Dan Dec 1857 Wisconsin and his WIFE Ida Oct 1881 Nebraska - married one year.

In 1910 Yuma County William H. Stephens, 42 married 17 years to May, 32.  They have Irene 16, Thelma 11, and Mabel 9, all three born in Nebraska.

Numerous newspaper articles refer to him as HENRY Stephens.

1911 "Miss Pearl Stephens, of Tecumseh, Nebr., is visiting at the Henry Stephens home.  She is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Stephens."    same column "A number of the friends and neighbors of Mrs. Lena Watts, gathered at her home Sunday afternoon and partook of ice cream and cake."

Mae BAKER Stephens - 1877-1912 is buried in Vernon  79925020

W. H. Stephen 41, married Lena Watts, 26, in Wray September 24, 1912.  "A marriage license was issued Tuesday of this week to W.H. Stephens and Lena Beatrice Watts, both of Happyville.  The ceremony that made them man and wife was performed the same day by Judge Jennings at his office in the court house."

December 5, 1912 "The funeral of Irene Stephens was held at the Methodist church Thursday at 3:00 o'clock and was buried at the Glendale cemetary (sic).  The bereaved relatives and friends have the sympathy of the community."

Thelma married Fred Armstrong,  and had a daughter March 1917.  "have been spending the last three months in Wray at the home of Mrs. Henry Stephens."

1917 "Walter Stephens, whose home is in the eastern part of Nebraska, arrived in Wray Sunday and is visiting his brother W.H. Stephens and family."

Wm. H. Stephens proved up two quarters in 31, 1S 46W in 1919.

Wonder if the Lena B. Stephens who divorced William H. Stephens in Mesa County in 1919 is the same....

William H. Stephens 1878-1942 is buried in Grand Junction, Mesa County.  - but this might be another.

One tree says Lena B. Gilbert born 1887, is the one buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Washington County, Idaho 25512465.   Idaho death records have Lena Beatrice Stephens, born June 12, 1887 in Missouri to S. J. Gilbert and Racy A. Ruth, dying February 19, 1929 in Washington County, Idaho.

In 1930 Violet Watts, 28, born in Nebraska, is a boarder in Washington County, Idaho with Frank and Effie Hard.  She's a check clerk in a laundry.

It says she had Helen Blanche Watts January 10, 1906, who married Emmett Joseph Arthur, then married Leonard Anton Esch, dying in 1997.  There's one buried in Willamette National, Portland  628956

In 1920 Payette County Idaho there's a W. Henry Stephens 51, widowed, fruit farmer, with son W. Edgell 9, born in Colorado. 

Edsel Stephens was in the first grade in 1917 in the Wray school.  Violet Watts was in the fourth, and Blanche in the fifth.

William Henry Stephens, 54, married Mary E. Day, 23, January 29, 1923 in Payette County, Idaho.

William Edsel Stephens died July 10, 1993 in Orange County California, born Jan 5, 1911 in Colorado, mother's maiden name Baker.

In 1940 William H. Stephens is in Los Angeles with Zelma I. Wheeler 43 and her husband Orville E. 43.

Zellma Ida Ann Wheeler is buried in Green Hills, Los Angeles County  72155549
