Arthur L. Shipley, Brownsville

In 1880 Menard County, Illinois Sylvester 36 Shipley and Martha 31 have Arthur L, 13, Anson M. 11, Viola G. 9, Otis E. 7, and Malvin R. three months.  (Wonder if Sylvester is related to Nancy Shipley Lewis 1826-1902 buried in Wray)

Arthur cash-claimed a quarter in 3, 2S 47W in 1891. 

Arthur L. Shipley married Leona G. Mosher March 13, 1897 in Jamestown, Colorado. She must be the "J.L." Mosher in Boulder County in 1885, nine years old, daughter of "C." a rancher, and Sophia.  Sophia 1856-1933 is buried in Nunn, Colorado 45666223  on a stone with "Son Oxel A. Davis 1877-1941"  There's a Calvin J. Mosher 1837-1887 buried in Jamestown 30294448

In 1900 Boulder County Arthur L. Shipley, Feb 1865 in Indiana, and Leona A. Oct 1875 Nebraska, have Arthur J. March 1899 Colorado.    Niece Zora M. Solomon Jan 1895 and nephew James J. Solomon January 1897, both Colorado, are with them.  Leona has had two children, one living.

Longmont 1900 "Mrs. Leona Shipley of Boulder was here this week visiting friends."  "Mrs. Leona Shipley of Sahna spent last Saturday and Sunday with Hygiene residents."

1901 Longmont "Mrs. Leona Shipley of Salina was visiting friends here this week."

Longmont 1901 "Fred Shipley started for Atwood, Iowa, Tuesday."

Longmont 1903 "Fred Shipley, section foreman on the B&M near Lafayett (sic) came up last Tuesday to see a dear friend."

Arthur is still a gold miner in Boulder County in 1910, with Arthur J. and Paul D. 8.

In 1920 Boulder County Arthur is a fluor-spar miner, He and Leona - a postmistress - have Arthur J. 20, a clerk in a general store, and Claude J. 5.

In 1930 Boulder County Arthur is a laborer in a gold mine, and Leona runs a lodging house. Claude J. is 16.

FindAGrave has Arthur Shipley, unknown birth, dying October 23, 1932, buried in Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder. 11112897

Leona is widowed in 1940 Los Angeles,, and Claude, an apprentice painter, is with her. California death index has her born October 3, 1875, died Nov 6, 1964 in Los Angeles

Claude's death record has him born Jan 19, 1914, dying Dec 18, 1967, mother's maiden name Mosher.
