Karhl S. Nicolay, Brownsville

 Karl is with his parents in Osage County Kansas in 1900 - in 1910 he's a farmer, single, lodging with the Peter Anderson family in Osage County.

Karhl proved up two quarters in 24, 2S 47W in 1916.  Witnesses were David C. Bell, Sankey H. Hooper, Charels Perry, and Thomas H. Hooper.

In 1916, J.B. Markey sued him for non-payment of a note on that property.

Karhl married Jeannet Ure in Osage County  December 16, 1917

Karhl Shurtz Nicolay registered in Osage County, Kansas, saying he was a farmer, born September 2, 1879, nearest relative Janett of Burlger.

He divorced Jeannette September 25, 1918

 In 1900 and 1910 and 1915 Jeannette is living with her parents, single.  In 1920 Osage County there's a Jenette Ure, divorced, 31, Scotland, living with parents William and Margaret.  

Jenet W. Parnell, 41, Scotland,  is widowed in 1930 Osage County, and her widowed sister Eliza E. Vandervoid is with her.  In 1940 Osage County Eliza Vanderword and Janet are still in Osage County, and a single sister Nellie Jane Ure, 45, born in Kansas is with them.

In 1920 "Carl", 42 is in Osage County, widowed, with parents George and Bell

In 1930 he's a poultry farmer, single,  with widowed mother Belle   in Los Angeles County.

In 1930 Nellie B. Moore, divorced, is in Topeka with son Harvey, 10.

Karhl divorced Nellie July 16, 1932 in Osage County.

In 1940 Topeka Nellie Nicolay, 56, married, born in Nebraska, has son Harvey Moore, 20, born in Kansas, a laborer for the W.P.A, with her.  

Karl is in Topeka in 1942 - Belle (Widow of George), living at 1907 Iowa - Karl is a carpenter.

Karhl is in Topeka in 1954, living at 1920 Iowa Avenue - Alfa A and Olive V. Nicolay are also in Topeka then.

  Karhl Shurtz Nicolay, son of George Henry Nicolay and Virginia Belle Linville, September 2, 1879 - July 29, 1955 - buried in Highland Cemetery, Osage County Kansas.  His parents are also in Highland.
